I always used 4 x 4"s front & back on the trailer then adjustable jack stands in the middle for a bit of extra support. Once everything was done I put a couple bowls of mothballs in the boat before covering it up. Never had an issue with critters even during many winters stored inside a barn.

Was always my go-to Bill, big ole black @ orange Grim Reaper 950.

I used Suicks a lot in the past Bill and always found they worked best...for me anyways...when they were neutral buoyant and just sat still between twitches. I liked to cut out a section of the belly and add stick on wheel weights then fill it in with epoxy. Different size baits would get different amounts of weights.

My buds been up at the West Arm of Nip this week and he boated 5 nice ones from mid 40's up to 52"

I liked the Tekota 600LC reels for trolling for musky but have no experience with salmon.

Most of the outer limbs were allowed to freefall Dave but the heavy ones were lowered by rope so as not to gouge the lawn when they hit and also my septic bed was nearby so the ones above that were all lowered by rope.

I had a crew here yesterday to take down a large elm tree in the back yard and it was really impressive to watch them working very methodically thru the tree with their ropes and pulleys so I took a few pics.

When I was there the son of the owners was driving us to a different lake on our last day and we put our gear in the back of his truck. He put a small outboard there too but it tipped over and broke one of my rods. They'd treated us so darned good all week I never told them he broke my rod as they'd feel terrible and probably want to replace it and I didn't want that to happen. I don't remember the name of the owners back then but could still be the same great family.

Been a very long time since my bro & I spent a week that lodge Chrispy and it's good to hear it's still a great place to visit !!

Not sure about anywhere else but here in the eastern Kawarthas folks are still digging out from that huge storm that went thru a few weeks back and killed a bunch of people. Another vicious storm hammered us again at 2 this afternoon. Started with thunder off in the distance then the wind came in like a hurricane and rain so heavy I could hardly see across the road. Whole thing lasted maybe 15 minutes and the storm left as fast as it came in. I've only gone 500 feet down the road to help a neighbor who lost several trees but between here and there I saw dozens of trees ripped from the ground or just snapped off. I've got a link to power outages and it shows 1100 homes without power within probably 10 miles from here. Last storm we were without power for a week but don't know about today. Hope none of you boys had any serious damage if you got hit today.

No, I was always quite a bit south of there. To get to West Bay and the West Arm by boat you'd need to go out into the big lake, past the Hardwood Islands then head south to Hay Narrows and come in from there. It's a long boat run from Lavigne but I'm sure you could find equally good spots where you'll be.

We're heading up this coming Saturday for an annual trip and stay at a camp about 20 minutes south of Lavigne. You'll like the area and there's a general store right in Lavigne if you need anything. I've never fished in the Lavigne area but spent a lot of years fishing West Bay and the West Arm...again south of you... and did well with the muskies. I always had good luck casting around the rocky islands if there was heavy weed growth nearby but spent most of my time casting open water and found the best places....to me anyways....was in 8 - 10 FOW with heavy patches of cabbage. Casting big black & orange spinnerbaits and working them around the patches produced some good fish. Try similar areas where you are and hopefully you'll get into some nice fish. Can't help you with the bass as I never had any interest in fishing for them but pike are pretty well everywhere and will hit darned near any bait you put in front of them.

Good musky fishing but can't comment on other species as I never tried for them.

Memquisit is great, we've stayed there a few times and the owners are as good as they come.

Could be a spider nest in the tube which is very common. Take a piece of stiff mono leader and push it into the hole and that will quite likely fix your issue.

I just recently installed 2 steel roofed gazebos on my back deck and didn't remember till after the storm that I forgot to screw them down. I guess if they didn't go into orbit during that storm they never will LOL

Just got our power back on yesterday (Friday) and internet & landline (phone) finally got hooked up today. I've also got a cell phone but reception was poor. I've said it may times but my GENERAC standby generator is by far the best money I've ever spent. Just a few seconds after the storm hit and everything went out, the generator fired up and ran everything I needed in the house for 7 days and never hiccuped once. I shut it down a couple times just to check the oil but other than that it ran constantly & flawlessly. I've been around a long time and been thru plenty of bad storms but never saw anything hit that fast and nasty before. Wife and I took a walk when it was all over and I couldn't believe the number of massive trees snapped in half or torn right outta the ground and sadly a fella was killed by a falling tree just south of me. Hopefully all you boys made it through without too many issues.
