Sorry to hear that, it's tough when you lose a close friend like that. My closest bud and I were like brothers for 40 years and always together. He's the reason we bought this house here in the boonies as they were only a couple miles down the road. It was great for 18 months then he suddenly got sick and died. My wife and his wife are still best friends after 1/2 a century but at least I've still got a head full of memories.

Went down the Peterboro to go into CTC this morning and not only have they set-up for Halloween but they're stocking the shelves with all the Christmas decorations all ready. Even got some artificial trees out on display.

I liked the Calcutta reels and used them for years. The CT's were a good casting reel for bucktails and spinnerbaits but my usual go-to was a TE with a power handle and it was incredible for burning baits fast and working large jerk baits. I also had an Ambassador 5500 with a power handle and while a lot less expensive than a TE it worked quite well for jerkbaits. For trolling I found the Tekota 600LC was a good as they get. All just my own opinion though.

Just my own opinion but I always found black & orange baits worked very well on Pigeon.

Other than a couple hiccups it sounds like a fun trip. Good to hear you guys enjoyed your trip.

There certainly are Roger LOL

Haven't had one in years but back in the day we used to just slice them up and fry in butter but your recipe sounds really good. Maybe I'll take a hike thru the woods tomorrow, LOL

Happy Anniversary to a pair of fun folks !!

Thanks guys, I just thought it was a cool little guy and thought it odd that I'd never seen one before.

Spotted this critter while watering the flowers this morning. Really beautiful spider with a body about 1/2" long and 1 1/2" from tip of front leg to tip of back. Not a big deal but my 1st time seeing one.

You should give your location where your leaving from if you want a drive-to to help guys with their recommendations.

We were casting a bay one evening when 2 clowns on a jetski decided to mess around with us. They came in close and started doing donuts around us for about 5 minutes then took off. They only got 100 yards and tried to make another sharp turn but instead rolled the machine over. We could hear one of them screaming in pain in the water so we motored over and asked if he was hurt and he said yes, it's my back. I said "ahhh, that's a shame" and continued on our way.

Couple years back we were staying at a camp up on the West Arm of Nipissing and the Ministry was practicing water drops and we had a good seat to watch the show. Really interesting stuff.

Some nice pictures there Barry, always enjoy them.

Nice pics Barry, here's one I took years ago similar to a couple of yours.

Years ago we had a board member who's folks lived on Dummer and I fished with him one day. Not much luck fishing wise but a very pretty lake and as mentioned no public launches.
-
Hard to believe some people some guys are so stupid.
-
I see they're 5 cents cheaper than the other guys and 21 cents below the local stations around here so I may just head over that way next week.
-
No, never went to that one Steve, I was told it was more of a marina for boats and the grounds were in really bad shape and tough to get into sometimes.
-
As of today Curve Lake is $1.48 while the local stations are $1.64 which is .16 cents or .72 cents a gallon. I normally wait till my gas tank is pretty low then go over and fill it up.
