  1. Jack, I've had 3 major surgeries and not one of them was near as bad as I thought it'd be, and I'm sure you'll find the same thing. Get yerself all fixed up and you'll be in your prime for the Lakair trip in June

Absolutely Terry, I was out for a hike with ole Marv this morning and I thought he was gonna take off like Toto Very heavy rains down here too, but the skies are clearing abit now.
  3. Good to hear the surgery went well Rich & hopefully the recovery will be a speedy one. Lookin forward to meeting Nikita in June.
  4. Oh no, I just got home and this is the 1st post I saw. Chuck & Shelly, I'm really sorry to hear of more terrible news for your family and best wishes for a speedy recovery for everyone......... Please keep us informed.
  5. G'day Harry, nice to see you up bright & early enjoying the best part of the day
  6. Congrats on your purchase and I hope it serves you as well as mine has for me !! Just remember to use it often and keep the batteries fully charged ALL the time and hopefully they'll last as long as the charger. My batteries & charger were all bought together on the same day 8 years ago and are all still working flawlessly. Boy, they've sure come down alot in price over the years too, I payed close to $200 for mine back in '99, but I spose their like any other electronic gizmo when it comes to pricing.
  7. Exactly what happened to me. Years ago I was just riding an old junker and my wife wanted nothing to do with it. Finally I decided to upgrade and bought myself Ski-doo's 25th anniversary model and once she saw how nice that was, I couldn't keep her off of it and the only way I could get it back was to go out and buy her a new machine too I must admit though, it made the weekend trips alot more fun with the Mrs coming along too
  8. All the best to ya Jack !!
  9. And the PB's continue, eh Joey !!
  10. Heard that too, evidentely he's 70 years old and never returned home from his trip, and then they found his car parked near the shore somewhere. So sad.........
  11. HEY, I always spoke well of YOU, Dax
  12. Great idea for a January thread Steve !! There was no fishing involved in this pic, but because I had the GPS turned on, I spose it can be classed it as fishing related Just me & the Mrs. out for a nice moonlight cruise on a warm August evening, but it was by far my favorite picture taken in all of 2007. 41+ years of wedded bliss
  13. Good to hear you enjoyed your day in the Ganaraska Don, it's a great spot 12 months of the year for alot of different activities. A group of us spent many winters riding the trails up in the Bancroft / Haliburton areas and it's an incredible way to spend a winter weekend !! And your right about the fellas that groom the trails , they do a great job and certainly makes it worthwhile paying for the yearly trail passes.
  14. Very sorry for your loss Mike, I remember your original post when Kareem 1st became ill. Your bud's gone now, but you'll have the memories of your friendship forever.
  15. It's only my personal opinion Gerritt, but for big ticket items like your looking at, I've always preferred going to a reputable dealer like Radioworld or something similar and purchasing from them, rather than chancing a sale from some stranger like your considering, who may be in Romania, or maybe the States, or wherever. You'll know your dealing with folks who have a great reputation for service and will stand behind their product, and if it's busted right outta the box, you'll just return it for another. You may pay a bit more going my route, but at least you'll know your satisfaction is guaranteed with whatever you buy. I know alot of folks swear by Ebay deals and maybe I'm just old fashioned, but that's the way I look at things. Good luck with whatever you decide though, bud.
  16. Go gettem Danbo
  17. CTC has an incredible return policy. 2 years ago I purchased an item from them for $250 and FOUR MONTHS LATER it was on sale for $200, so I took my reciept to the store and asked if they could do anything for me. They said "absolutely Sir", and without even a question, they returned $50 + tax Ya gotta luv that !!
  18. Welcome to the board & congrats on the pair of PB's, that musky is a beaut !! The Ottawa is an awesome river for musky & I try to get up that way every summer. Good to have you joining us.
  19. Yup Roy, I remember all that stuff very well, and also the conveyor belt that brought the bigger items up into the center of the store from the basement. And what kid from back in the day wasn't proud of his Supercycle
  20. This should get the discussion going........
  21. Well, the hawk was back again about 10 minutes ago, sitting on a branch only 15' from the feeder, but I couldn't get a picture of him. I guess he knows now that there's some easy pickins around here and he's gonna take advantage of the feasts while he can. Seems like the other birds are well aware of him though, as I haven't had a bird here since the incident yesterday and I'd normally have 30 birds here by now. Oh well, I guess on the bright side I'm gonna save alot of $$$$ on bird seed. I'm gonna leave the camera by the window and who know's, maybe he'll pose for me one of these times and I can get a decent shot of him. And Roy, thanks for that video, it was really incredible !!
  22. CTC is a nice store to shop in IF you know exactly what you want and don't need to ask any questions, but very few of the staff seem to have any knowledge of the products their selling, and it sounds like this applies to fishing licenses too. Good to hear you got it all straightened out.
  23. Yup, this is it fer sure, truly a majestic bird and I'm sure right near the top of his food chain.
  24. I think I know where your doves are Cliff, I always have at least 15-20 here in the yard and have counted as many as 50 at one time. Beautiful birds that are always welcome here !!
  25. There's a flock of about 12 robins in the valley over here Steve that I see just about every day when me & ole Marv are out tromping thru the woods. There's always been a few that hung around thru the winter, but this is the largest group I've seen spend the whole year up here. Always nice to hear that familiar chirping on the cold, snowy days. Course if that hawk that was in my backyard yesterday spots them, they could be gone PDQ.
