Your absolutely right Paul and it seems as if LeB's has indeed improved on their customer service, at least from the recent reports, but it's too bad it didn't happen until they started getting some very serious competition from BPS, and then losing alot of their customers to the new kid on the block. For a long time LeB's was the only store in the GTA that carried a huge selection of top quality gear covering so many aspects of the outdoors, and it seemed like their attitude was that they didn't care what folks thought of them, because everyone still kept shopping there. As soon as BPS showed up and customers started switching over to them, the attitude at LeB's changed and suddenly now everyone is saying how good they've become.......me included. Interesting stuff

Marc, a bunch of the Fire Dept's here in Ontario got together 20 - 25 years ago and formed a league that started out fairly small but really caught on and expanded to become so big it was eventually split into about 4 divisons. It was extremely popular and alot of fun and the teams would travel all over Southern Ontario to play and the fans would also travel to the various games to support them. After a few years we went international for tourneys and they'd be held in a different city each year and included American teams from the Fire Dept's of New York City, Boston, Detroit, Buffalo, and I think Chicago if I remember correctly. I haven't watched the NHL in decades but these games were far superior in my opinion. I wasn't good enough to play in that caliber but I travelled around and watched alot of the games and some of those guys were unbelievably talented. I don't know the actual reason but the league was unfortunately disbanded eventually, but for quite a few years it provided alot of excellent hockey players the opportunity to meet and play against many teams from both sides of the border. It was really good stuff while it lasted !!

All the best to you on your Birthday Cliff, hope it was a goodun !!

I bought a new bowmount at LeB's this past summer & it was $30 less than BPS.

Some really beautiful pictures there Dan, thanks. I'm not a fan of winter at all, but must admit, it sure can be purdy sometimes.

I played a lot of hockey up until the time I joined the Navy, then got away from it and never put skates on again for about another 10 years. A bunch of us from work then decided it'd be good to start renting some ice time at a local indoor rink for some hockey and we did that every Wednesday for the next couple years. It was alot of fun and really felt good to get back into the game. Probably 20-25 years now since I've skated though. Fishing is alot easier on the body

Is a Helly Hansen Compass Rain Suit any good?
lew replied to Canuck2fan's topic in General Discussion
Absolutely douG, wear the proper type of clothing for the weather you'll be encountering, and your day in the nasty stuff will be much more enjoyable. Nothing worse than seeing someone who's miserable because they didn't dress properly for the elements. -
Thanks Tom, that would be the regular parking lot. I dunno, but $11 just to park is certainly getting extreme in my opinion.

I'd have to move a bunch of cows outta the barn 1st

Happy B-Day to the pair of youz, looks like a fun night !!

TOM C, we were talking about free parking at Ontario Place on the south side of Lakeshore Blvd, then walking up to the show. Is that where your referring to with the $11 parking fee, or do you mean up in front of the Direct Energy Center ??
