  1. Haven't heard too much lately, but if this protest is still in effect, does anyone know what roads are messed up ?? Specifically, are hwy 8 south thru Napanee, and hwy 33 from Trenton to Picton open ?? Heading down in 2 weeks and don't want to get screwed up.
  2. Sorry for your loss , it's always tough to get through. Look after your Mom & yourself.
  3. Looks like I'm just gonna miss you Kieth, were coming down on the 16th. Good luck on the Bay, but please leave a few for me
  4. Brian, that was alot of excellent advice you offered there, good of you to take the time !!
  5. I'm lookin forward to it already Mike, trolling in a blizzard with the heater going in the boat and lunch cooking on the barbie....don't get any better than that !!
  6. I like this one from last summer, me & the Mrs. out for an evening cruise.
  7. Sonny, you guys gonna be around on the May long weekend ?? We fish down by the ferry after dark, but will be in Hay Bay during the day on Saturday & Sunday, so have a look for a green Crestliner
  8. Good to see you decided to post it Mike. You'll be getting slimed in style now bud !!
  9. Nothing exotic for me this year. Heading down to Quinte in 2 weeks for our annual pickeral trip, in June it's 7 days at Lakair and then another week or so at Lakair in August. I always do a few days on the Ottawa River for muskies but haven't set a firm date yet. November is our annual musky trip to St. Clair and we always close the season on the Niagara in December. Other than that, I'll be spending most of the summer around the Kawarthas, but being retired with absolutely no schedule ........ ........ I could end up hauling my boat just about anywheres
  10. Used to spend alot of time.... (and money) .... in that store too Dan. They were good stores, too bad they're no longer around.
  11. I just got this Coleman tent a couple weeks ago. I like alot of room in a tent as I'm usually gone about a week at a time and this one should work well for me. It's 9 x 12 and over 7' high with 2 doors including a hinged one in front and 4 windows. There's a couple vents close to the ground plus a zippered opening to run an extension cord inside for lights or a heater. I've used Coleman gear, including tents for many many years and they always make a quality product. It wasn't available in Canada but I ordered it from a place in New Jersey called Campmor and saved $70 on the price. It was shipped by the US post office for $12 and no duty. www.campmor.com I see now the sale is over though and the price has gone up $70 so I got it just in time.
  12. Hey Jed, I think your confusing those Lund fellers. Your having a spat with LundGUY and the feller in this thread is LundBOY Course I could be wrong too
  13. Was that the episode where Babe was fishing with Spence Petros ?? If so, the underwater footage of the big pike hitting the baits was unbelievable !! Really gives an excellent perspective of how the pike attacks another fish.
  14. The foot control on some PD models have been causing grief for quite a few years now. Another MinnKota repair facility is Aikmens at 3010 Novar Rd. in Mississauga just west of the Hurontario / Dundas intersection. 905-277-3595 They're good to deal with and can often get you fixed up PDQ
  15. Those Virginia tornadoes made the 7:00 AM news on the tube up here this morning too. Unbelievable destruction and good to hear you boyz came out OK.
  16. Awesome pics & good to have ya back bud !!
  17. Sounds like a fabulous trip Rich and it's good to hear you enjoyed the East Coast so much. I spent alot of time out there in the 60's and have been back several times on vacations and you'll never meet nicer, friendlier people anywhere !!
  18. They've been back in service for a couple hours now, I've seen several around town.
  19. Bill, Mike, Hey You.......he knows who I mean Brian
  20. You made some nice choices there Bill, specially with the St. Croix and the Compre rods, they're both excellent. You'll also be extremely happy with that Tekota 600LC. I've been trolling with the same reel for about 3 years now and it's perfect.
  21. Congrats on becoming a boat owner, Hometown, it'll open up a whole new aspect of fishing for you & your family. Take a bit of time to get used to launching and retreiving your boat and you'll get the hang of it in no time as it's really very simple once you've tried it a few times. If your going to be using that boat ramp in the river with the current alot, Gerritt offers some excellent advice about the trailer guides. They don't cost too much and just bolt on your trailer, but make life lots easier if your trying to load the boat in current or strong cross winds. Just basically drive the boat onto the bunks and the guides will do the rest for you.
  22. Good to hear everything's working out well with the new boat Mike and now I'll know what to look for on Quinte in a couple weeks. See ya down there.
  23. Just so nobody gets the wrong impression Ben, that ONE ticket taker that made 100G did it by working many many hours of overtime every week. The base salary of ticket takers is no-where near that. Only my opinion and I haven't used the TTC in 40 years, but if someone wants to put in 30-40 hours overtime a week to make extra $$$$ I say more power to him.
  24. ***Police officers work....firefighters make calenders.......i wanna see Lew on a calender!*** Careful what you wish for Dave, you may not like what you see
  25. Tomorrows session is to talk about legislating them back to work, not declaring them an essential service, but that could be discussed at a later date.
