  1. That's the bait catcher Roy
  2. My #1 go-to musky bait is consistantly a big ole black/orange Grim Reaper spinner bait. It's usually the 1st bait in the water everyday and often the last one outta the water at the end of the day.
  3. My son was an iron worker and the day after the buildings came down, Jim and a whole bunch of other iron workers from his union chartered a bus for New York City to help remove the girders and do whatever else they could to help in the rescue operation. They were turned back at Ground Zero though as those in charge said they were overwhelmed with help from across the U.S. The guys hung around NYC for a couple days incase they were needed but after that they just returned home again.
  4. Thanks Ernie, that's good to hear, too bad ALOT more stuff doesn't come back over here because of quality control issues. As for the maintanance issues, I've read alot of reports where guys claim to be maintaining their tires properly but still having problems, even on fairly new tires. Just seems to be more problems with the Chinese made tires than when they were made on this side of the ocean. And Dan, I hear you on the speed issues. Darned right scary to see the speeds that some guys are towing their trailers.
  5. Your 100% correct Roy and it always amazes me how little attention some folks pay to something sooooo important as tires.
  6. Dan, do you think your seeing more of the Chinese made tires coming back than the American version ??
  7. I read quite a few different fishing and boating websites and see alot of posts from guys having problems with GoodYear Marathon trailer tires that are made in China. In every post though, it seems more guys have not had any problem with theirs. My last trailer, a single axle, had the Chinese made Marathons and I put about 5000 miles on them with absolutely no problems at all. My new tandem axle trailer also has 4 Chinese made Marathons but I've only got around 1200 miles so far this season but so far, so good. I'm always very vigilant about my tires and check the pressures before EVERY trip and never use tires more than 5 years before replacing them. With all the negative posts about them though, I'm just curious if anyone here uses the Chinese marathons on their trailers and have you had any issues with them ??
  8. 10 or 12 years ago we spent a week fishing in Quebec, 40 miles or so east of Temiskiming, and probably 1/2 the pickeral we caught had the blue tinge on them.
  9. Thanks for that Paul, a couple excellent pictures of the shipyard.
  10. I was able to straighten the picture Jim, but had to lose your hat & part of the tail to do it.
  11. Congrats on a very nice fish Jim, and the pics & videos turned out great. Really enjoyed the eagle/osprey encounter. As I told you on the phone last night, I darned near came back up for another week but just had too much doing around here. Scary stuff with Sue & the bee's too but it sounds like she got over it OK. Oh yeah, the boat looks real good in Joey's picture too
  12. Your little piece of Heaven just keeps on getting better TJ !!
  13. Back in 1965 when I was in the Navy we needed some work done to the ship and sailed from Halifax, up the St. Lawrence River, and into the Davie Shipyards in Levis for the repairs. While there we used to take the ferry across the river to Old Quebec to do what young sailors do. It's a gorgeous old city with alot of history and is a great place to visit. Some really nice pictures there Paul, thanks.
  14. My MinnKota on-board charger is the same, if the battery voltage in the deep-cycles drops below a certain level it won't kick in. Hafta use an external charger to bring them up above the level.
  15. Your fish'n tales always make for a great read Mike and this one was no exception !!
  16. You'll be missed around here Cudz, you always contributed alot to this place. Best of luck doing what you figure you've gotta do.
  17. I knew that, still struck me as funny though
  18. Can't help noticing that Larry's wearing a Yammy shirt while standing beside the Evinrude
  19. Still getting the odd flash over this way Cliff and light rain started a short while ago.
  20. I don't blame him Dan, why use pedalpower when you've got horsepower
  21. Oops, I read your post wrong Mike...carry on
  22. Mother Nature can do some nasty stuff when she wakes up in a lousy mood. That storm is unreal for sure !!
  23. Hey Dan, when I was 5 years old...a very long time ago...I also had a car that I could drive, but to make it go I had to push pedals with my feet and it had a top speed of about 1/2 MPH. Boy, how times have changed
  24. He wasn't talking about Scugog specifically, he was telling the person to check the charts for whatever body of water he was gonna fish.
  25. That picture is hilarious !!
