  1. That actually happened to a fella I used to work with Dan. He bought a house trailer with a weight distribution hitch but never asked anyone how to set it up properly. He hauled it to Vancouver for a vacation and had to replace the front tires on his car when he got there. He said the steering felt funny all the way across the country but he never thought to ask anyone why
  2. Just for your own peace of mind Rob, why not just replace everything with new and then you'll know for sure that it's all good. Nothing worse than always having that nagging feeling that something may not be just the way it's sposed to be. If you can't do it yourself or don't have the space, you could always take it to a reputable shop before the season starts and have it done. Might cost a few $$$$ but at least you'll know your good for the hiway.
  3. No way that kinda crap should be happening Darren, sure hope they get you fixed up soon.
  4. Exactly why I said above that the OP may have a problem with his insurance company if he overloads his tow vehicle.
  5. Then you can be sure you won't need to buy another charger for your boat for a very long time Roy.
  6. If it was me Roy, then your welcome I think mine was model 2611, a really excellent charger.
  7. Guest is an excellent charger Roy, I put one in my last boat in '99 and it's still going strong.
  8. First thing that came to my mind was what happens with your insurance coverage if you have an accident while your towing a 2600 pound boat with a vehicle rated to tow 1500 pounds. Just a thought...
  9. Sorry to hear about your set-back and hopefully they get everything straightened out soon.
  10. There's been a few reports lately where Canucks have bought boats & motors in the States but then have had problems with warranties on the motors up here. Just something to check into if your bringing a motor across the border.
  11. With scenery like that, it'd still be a great day even if you skunked Really a beautiful place !!
  12. My last boat was a Crestliner FishHawk and it was excellent in every way. I drove it for about 8 years with no issues and I'd definetely agree Crestliner would be worth looking at.
  13. Nothing better than to have a vehicle with winter tires that can get you where you want to go, and nothing worse that getting stuck behind some guy who was too lazy or too cheap to install winter tires and you have to plod along behind him because he can't go anywhere.
  14. Wonder how quietly I can sneak up behind him with the scissors
  15. Not much else to do until the lakes thaw Skip
  16. As we speak, this nice buck is still standing in my back yard. He's a good size with a nice set of antlers, although their not too big. Always enjoy seeing the critters wandering around the neighborhood.
  17. jeeeez, those catfish are massive !!!!
  18. There's been several families of Bald Eagles around here for a few years now and it's really nice to see them taking up residence. I got these pics of 2 of them a couple years ago just a few miles from here. Always nice to see the Pileated Woodpeckers too, their another beautiful bird and there's 3 that hang around here all the time. I had all 3 of them in the tree outside the front window in the summer but didn't get the camera in time. There's also alot of robins spending the winter here too, infact just 2 weeks ago I counted 30 on my front lawn around the feeder.
  19. Yup, I'm aware of that Jer, I was just putting it up for anyone heading there and not familiar with the area.
  20. I drove over the Causeway yesterday afternoon and saw a few folks fishing the west side of Chemong, south of the there but they were fairly close to shore. There's still open water at the east end of the Causeway on the north side.
  21. I ran a pair of 12 volt batteries in parallel on my last boat for years Rob and it definetely gives you a much longer running time, but you'll thank yourself if you upgrade to a 24 volt system and even go with a larger motor. More $$$$ up-front but well worth the expense.
  22. Lotsa great fish pictures as always MB, but this one looks like your releasing a darned crocodile
  23. I've only seen a few deer in the yard sofar this winter Roy but there's plenty of tracks around. Probably see more once the snow gets deeper.
  24. Thanks for the morning smile Roy, it's always nice to see the critters come out for a visit !! I had 4 robins at the feeder yesterday, a bald eagle overhead and a pileated woodpecker on the tree.
  25. Great vacation with alot of excellent fish, specially that brute your girlfriend landed !!
