The YJ's sure were fun. Had a hardtop and those little beasts were 30C in the winter after a few minutes. Top off in May and stayed off all summer, 3rd vehicle by then. Took the doors off, top down and even folded the windshield down and go on road trips. Got caught one summers night when the temp dropped, froze all the way from Port Stanly to the cottage with no windshield, doors or top, no tools to bolt the windshield back up either. 2 hour drive in shorts and T shirts. All the nieces were little tikes then and always wanted to go for a ride. I would take them along the lakeshore here. There is one spot at the end of Stoney Creek here in Selkirk that is a foot deep for a few hundred yards into the lake. I would take the thing into the lake a few hundred feet and they would loose it. Fun times we will never forget. We had all 18 over during the holidays and were reminiscing, my 91 year old Father as well, 4 generations. I told them it's time to make new fun times. My wife was looking for a new ride this past spring. Looked at newer CJ's(?) as she wanted a rag top. My back wouldn't take it and they sure hold their value. There are some serious YJ owners clubs out there. One I traded for plywood, the other I don't remember where it ended up. I traded in the Cherokee towards a used Beemer. I've never had the YJ's go much over 100KPH, at that speed it sounded like it was going to come apart. My wife has I'm sure.

I wish. If you could see the rear end of my 2011 Silverado I am in need of a back up camera, badly. I'm constantly told "it's just a truck." The truck doesn't have a big built in screen, buddy's Silverado doesn't either and the little screen on the dash is almost impossible to see so no camera for me. 1 little knick on my wife's baby and it's on my list of to do's. Albert sorry but I can't help myself, since it's a Jeep who cares what damage you might do to it. I said sorry. I can see how a camera can be a safety thing so not to run something over backing up. By the way I have owner no less than 3 Jeeps, 2 old YJ's and a Cherokee. One YJ wouldn't start if it was raining 30 miles away. I carried a spare starter (3 easy to get to bolts and 3 wires) a spare battery and a few cans of WD 40.

I have none. It's the giving that counts for me. She's 12 years old.

Welcome to the best fishing forum anywhere. Great that you are still out and about at your age. We have caught big Pike in the Long Lac area. I have never even seen a Pike longer than 40" other than in pics. I as well as you are on a fixed pension. I have a bucket list of things I want to do but don't have a bucket full of Benjamin's to do it. Anything you have mentioned, especially an American plan will cost big time. The best advise you can give your sons is to learn how to cook. It will save you guys hundreds a week. That's where I started to learn to cook, fishing trips because I needed to, fast forward 25 years and I'm running a restaurant.

Here's Sams number. 1-613-396-2160. My pal talked to him today, he said to bring the boat, zero ice.

Close ketch. Grappa in coffee is an abomination. Dad had a pal that put red wine in his coffee! Dio mio.

Not in the budget, nice machine. The one on the left I gave away. Try making cappuccino for 8 people using that. There was a time about 23 years ago IGA now Foodlessland had the best bread going. Mom and Dad would always buy a few loaves before heading home. When the baker left so did the good bread.

I can't believe how much the price of a drone has gone down since they came on the market. I was given one for Christmas from my God Daughter. I saw it in the window at The Source for 25 bucks. Not sure what one gets for 25 bucks. Now I need to find a place to fly it. I don't want to practice over the lake, it may be the last time I fly it.

It's breakfast some where on Earth Tom. I remember one trip I made to Italy with my brothers and Dad and I ordered a Cappuccino in the afternoon, the waiter lost it, told me to go back to America if I wanted a cappuccino after 10 AM. Yes my Nono and Noni are spinning in their graves. "La tempo cambia" times change. (the translation / Italian spelling Police will be along soon.) My Lady only drank Tea when we met 25 plus years ago, now she is addicted to java. We have a spice grinder that can chop the beans, I am lazy. I'm not positive but we, as in you and I, don't have a grocery store where we can grind our own, Maybe Zehr's in Caledonia? At least our Food Town carries espresso now. If there's anything I really miss since moving out to the sticks 19 years ago is a good choice for groceries. We lived a few blocks from the Hamilton Farmers market before we moved out here, I miss that the most.

I can't stomach Grappa since the last time the 2 of us polished off a bottle. That was 25 years ago. Fisherman I hear you. Not everyone is addicted to coffee, I am. I could make no less than 2 pots on night shift in my office plus coffees in the control rooms doing my rounds. I would fall asleep after gallons of the stuff as soon as I got in bed. The strongest coffee I have ever had was in Cuba, you need a spoon to drink it, or should I say eat it.

Thanks for the invite. Does that invitation include me? If so watch what you wish for. I know someone here is going to join you. I would but the way things with my body have been lately I would need to take a Nurse along. Maybe that's not a bad idea. I can't believe not 1 jerk would give you a roe bag. Canadians are supposed to be kind, polite and giving. You should have told them who you are and that you are connected. With all the fantastic folks on this site you are going to be up to your neck in roe bags. Someone is going to take you up on the offer and you will have a great trip.

I've been meaning to pass on my home brew cappuccino recipe I came up with. If a cup cost 25 vents I would be surprised. I got rid of 2 cappuccino machines because that's all I did after dinner, I hadn't made 1 for me and MT cups were coming back "More please."Here it is. All you need: A 4 demi tasse espresso pot. A small sauce pan. A hand held immersion blender a good quality espresso (I use Madalglia D'oro because it is available readily at most stores) Medaglia D'oro also makes a caffeine free version and it's pretty good. 1 1/2 cups of milk approx. Make the coffee. A tip is to not compress the coffee grains to tightly. I use the back of a teaspoon or a flat lid from a spice container to lightly tamp down, lightly. In a sauce pan heat 1% or 2% milk. Just a bit more than a baby will drink it. The lower the fat the frothier it gets. Once the milk is heated put the blender to it and you will get a good froth Spoon it into an empty cup. We use 2 large mugs so you get a double shot of espresso. Once the cups are 3/4 full, or more, pour in the coffee. There may be some milk left, pour it into each cup. If you save a bit of coffee you can make fancy designs on the froth. Finish with granular sugar or sweetener of choice. Our favorite sweetener is Carolan's Irish Cream. Stir the cup if you wish, I actually use a chopstick. Enjoy. That foam will stay foamy for a long time. If you want to get fancy shmansy toast espresso beans haven't added up the cost but I can say for sure it isn't the 7 bucks or more at a Barista's. Maybe 25 cents, maybe.

Working for a living is highly over rated. Good luck on the new career.

You got it. I don't even know if he's still sitting on the porch running the place. I've never seen him move more than 10' at a time other than to feed the 70 or more cats there. I always passed when he made Rabbit stew!!!!!!!! He's a character for shooo. I remember going to his parents butcher shop on Ottawa St in Hamilton in the early 60's with Dad. They were pissans. Like most places action is first light and dusk. Many times we packed it up at 10AM and came back at 4. Perch can be good all day. Bring all the weapons of mass distraction.

Do not cheap out on terminal tackle and quality of wire hooks on your choice of hardware. I have seen a good quality snap swivel straighten out like cheap Chinese wire. No skinny panfish rods and reels. I used a Shimano baitcaster reel on a heavy ice fishing rod. The locals use the bottom 1/2 of a good heavy rod and glue an eye on the end of it. This is not finesse fishing, when you get a 10 pound girl on you will know it. Where we fished no sleds were needed, maybe a par 3 to the fish from shore. Fire me a PM bud and I will try and get you onto the fish. An old pal from Hamilton has or had a trailer park there. That was our spot. I don't know if he still has it, the kids that aren't kids any longer may be running it. We would stay at a motel just down the road and a small restaurant right across hwy 2 from the motel that opens very early.

One more thing, drill a big hole.
-
It's bad. not a speck of salt or sand on lakeshore drive. All the trucks are in Caledonia where the big tax base is out here.
-
It is my experience that Jan 1 was the best fishing. That doesn't mean the place is empty of Pics after that. Hit the narrows where fish must pass to get to the lake and where baitfish congregate. It is no secret as to where they may be when you go, find the huts and maybe find the fish. Good luck Kiddo.

Good luck Dave. It's the 3M spray I was referring to as not moving once set. The liquid is more forgiving. I was thinking of removing the old 24 year old carpet which is in good shape on the StarCraft and putting down vinyl myself. A checker plate type finish . I have more important things on the list of to do's as well as the $$$.

Dave, I've done more than a few floors in the last few winters. 3M is the best, beware make sure the material is exactly where you want it. Once on it is a chore to take off within minutes. The trowel notch size is very important based on the instructions of the adhesive, very important. I don't remember exactly which HD adhesive we used. The warmer the adhesive the better it goes on. Make sure the area is well ventilated and use one of those Comfo 2 respirators you may have borrowed from the plant with the proper cartridge, type 2 is all purpose. If not you may think you were in Woodstock. I didn't read the entire thread so I may have said something already pointed out. We got the marine vinyl from a place in Orillia I think, I didn't take the trips. I'll check my iboat.com file to check. That's site is a good one for any boat owner.

His actual name is Bob Einstein. Can't find his brothers name. He played the dead pan dentist on The Larry David Show. We first met Super Dave on a Canadian comedy show in the 80's playing the ill fated stunt man, I don't care what Wikipedia says that's where I first saw him. Reminded me of the Coyote on the Roadrunner cartoon.

One of my faves. His latest gig was on Larry David. That dry delivery always made me howl. His brother was a great entertainer too. Can't remember his name. He had an episode on the Twilight Zone movie. Will Google later.

You can put them on Corn Flakes, that's why cooking can be whatever you want it to be. I'm a traditionalist, not just cooking but will tweek dishes. I don't use them often, beef Taco's and homefries I do always. But I go through a lot of red onion in salads and a bag of shallots every few weeks.

Details, details. I need to make that eye appt. I cancelled 6 months ago. Prescription glasses are useless for me. Some weeks I can't see a think and can go weeks without them, Diabetes vision. Plus am guaranteed to lose them. If I pay 20 bucks for Shoppers specs they last until they fall apart. I rarely use onions in anything.
