My brother and I were raised in the same house by the same parents. He is a 59 year old drug addict, his wife as well. He was making 6 digits in the early 90's, she was a medical research scientist making big bucks for a Big Pharma firm up to 20 years ago. They are both on disability having a tough time to make their geared to income rent. I don't believe proper parenting is the simple answer, there is no simple answer but good parenting is sure better than the alternative.

This isn't an opinion it's a fact. A kid see's zero future for him or her,, can't attend school because they don't have clean clothes or even money to buy a lunch to take. See's the local dealer driving fancy new cars and surrounded by women and a crew that seems to respect them. What occupation do you think he will strive for? Addiction however does not discriminate, there are plenty of people of all walks of life that have addictions. I bought my 1st home 2 years out of High School. I was making a bit above 20K a year and bought a 3 bedroom townhouse in a nice neighbourhood for 25K, only needed cosmetic work. That is unheard of today. My nieces and nephews have done well. They have combined incomes of over 100K a year. 1 bought a home in a working class neighbourhood across from a brownfield site, I wouldn't want to live there. 2 bed 1 bath little saltbox place that they paid $350.000.00. I am sure they have a $300,000.00 mortgage. Not having kids ourselves we helped them all a bit, they need the help now not when we are dead, what if they didn't have help? I know my brother couldn't help them, he is a 59 year old functioning drug addict, his wife as well. There's a prime example of addiction having no age or income barriers. I had a hard time sleeping and my mortgages were always less than my annual salary, my self imposed rule. Back then your wife's salary didn't count towards your loan qualification.

There is a good reason products show up in dollar and liquidator stores, even name brand. From batteries to razor blades, Energizer and Gillette for example. Often they are items that don't pass initial quality tests and they find their way to stores with cheap prices. Caveat Emptor. Electronic items and shop tools are always in boxes that have been opened and taped closed, wonder why? Clothing is often sized wrong and you find out when you put it on at home.

Better hook removal faculty than in Buffalo area. My Uncle in North Tonawanda goes to the local Vets to have hooks removed from his arse, more than once. I witnessed it. Is the West Arm of Nipp the same as the west bay? Way back my inlaws cottage was on Bear Creek and we fished the South Bay and locals called it the west bay too.

Your buddy is one lucky fella. He better get tested for allergies, he is allergic to something. I bet they give him an EpiPen. There's another thing to get prepared for the trip. Everyone should see a Doc and get tested for allergies. It takes 10 minutes, might just save a good trip, even a life. Can't call a Uber to take someone to emerg.

Welcome aboard. Want big fish? then fish big water like Erie. There are plenty of big Smallmouth that can be taken close to shore, especially early morning and just before dusk. You can wade plenty of shoreline in the Inner Bay of Long Point for good sized Largemouth. Not knowing your location is tough to steer you towards good big fish water. For big fish use big baits is my recommendation without writing a 12 page essay. Jerk baits for casting is a go to Bass bait. To get offshore a bit I would get myself a cheap Kayak and mount a few cheap rod holders. Even a good pair of chestwaders will get you off the shore. I wore the treads off the boots of my waders before I got a boat. Have fun, be safe and go smash em'.

I bought a cheap HDMI cable from a liquidator store. I just knew the picture wasn't what it should be. Went to Best Buy and was sticker shocked at the 30 buck price tag for a 4' cable. The picture is just amazing now. Have had it for a few years now. I recommend spending the money. If you don't see a difference take it back.

You are the Dad of the summer of 2019. I would have killed to spend that kind of time when I was your boy's age. Do me a favour, wear shoes on a boat. Nothing worse than spoiling that kind of weekend than to have to go into North Bay to remove a hook buried in a foot.

100's of fish? I don't get that. Maybe restate the sentence. Operators are whom? Sort of like when the Firefighters here in town hold their annual Perch Fry. Who is in possession of the several hundred Perch? Last year I was told they served over 300 folks and each plate had 5 Perch. That's over 1500 Perch. Mortality rate was 100%!!!

I am assuming this tourney was not in Ontario. As it was pointed out it is illegal to transport live fish here in Ontario.

Call me old fashioned. My burgers contain nothing but ground beef. No egg, bread crumbs, garlic or Worchester. Worchester goes on the burger not in it. And medium ground beef tastes much better than lean or extra lean. They don't fall apart either, I have a secret so they don't. We eat burgers maybe twice a month though. Beef isn't in the budget any longer. This pensioner too has a freezer full of pork loin at $1.99 a pound. Everything from pulled pork to schnitzels. Had a pork roast tonight actually with my homemade pasta. Last night was Portuguese beefana, thin sliced pork leg in pepper sauce in Portuguese buns. Beef smeef. But I have to tell ya, if I could only eat veggies if they could taste as good as the ones Mom used to put away in the fall I could handle it. Some of her eggplant tasted like beef. I could never even come close if I tried. We haven't tried these veggie burgers, I don't plan on it either.

I've only gotten through 1/2 the article about the Bass Guru Mike Long and am enthralled to say the least. As well as the forensic investigation by Mr. Roelofsen and Akrisoner concerning the young woman and her claims. I have been a member here for around 10 years I think. Who wants to keep and eat a wormy Smallmouth? I will eat smaller bass from Erie but not a 5 pound er here or from a small hot lake up north or a lake or river around here, especially during summer. Regs say if you kill a fish you can't waste it which means eat it to me.

I read the link. There seems to be many steps and procedures' in place to ensure mortality rate is aimed at zero. Something within the entire process from fish first hooked until release has failed. I find the report woefully lacking any data that would explain why. That would include a necropsy be done on many of the fish that died as well as an investigation of all the systems in place to ensure zero mortality. rate. I know that would cost big bucks. I am sure an investigation of that magnitude is not in a tournaments budget. If it is not then that tournament should not be held. Does the MNR act as a watchdog during these tourney's to ensure mortality rates are zero? Are charges pending? I wouldn't want to be the person that signed on the dotted line on the tournament application. I don't think we have heard the end of this. I hope not.

Of course it should. If someone knowingly does something that will kill someone in my mind that is premeditated and should be murder in the 1st degree. They get off with 2nd degree or manslaughter when the words "will kill" is replaced with "might kill.".

I think I told you not to do it because of your age. I was wrong, life is too short to have a long bucket list CP. Look at me, arthritis in my spine and now I can't even fish from shore for God's sake. As far as out to kill bikers. I don't think they are targeting bikers. However my 2 pals were killed by a 85 year old Sr. Citizen. She should never have been behind the wheel. We went to her court appearances and the Judge let her off with a slap on the wrist. I lost it and was close to being thrown in jail. It was her 3rd accident in 18 months according to The Crown. Just paid the small fines and massive insurance rates because she could. I hope she is rotting in Hell. Nothing is more selfish than someone that knows they are dangerous behind the wheel but just keeps driving, including my own father until the Doc pulled his licence when I ratted him out. And not just Sr's.

Bring plenty of good quality Band Aids for the index finger on your spinning reel casting hand. For stuff you need to bring I've learned if you don't think you will need it you will. I've been to plenty of Fly In lakes that we portaged into over Beaver Dams with a 14' tinnies and 9.9's. Trained hard in the gym to prepare for those trips. Had 2/6 packs, one in each hand! The guys that flew in that we met were none too happy to know you could walk into some. But they were happy to know we could drop off a case of cans of Ale for them, which we did a few times.

He also drove a 55 Chevy Nomad wagon. White roof and upper fender accents over forest green. Must have had leather interior because I remember liking the taste of the back of the front seats as I chewed on them! I knew one was coming up on Barret Jacksons when they were here one day. I called him in to watch, the car went for over 100K more than 10 years ago, he lost it.

It was massive but the biggest car he ever had was a 1970 Mercury Marquis Bromham I took it to Wasaga Beach for the May 24 and slept in the back seat. I was 5'11 1/2" and my head and feet never touched the back doors.. With his broken English he called it a Mercury Market Broom. He just passed this past April, 4 days past his 92nd birthday. RIP Pa.

That's great Hack. You can't tell on TV how humungous those land yachts were. It had the massive eyebrow tail lights. If someone hit a pedestrian with one they would be speared like a shish kabob!! Never know it might have been. He traded it in on a 65' Impala when the drive shaft fell off. 4 door hardtop, no B pillar. Learned on that Chevy. Made out with girls a few times when I drove it to the levy on the Hamilton Beach Strip.
