  1. How about the carbon foot print they make using jets to cross the country campaigning?
  2. Spiel, I tried to watch the 1st video you posted. When the presenter said the Arctic ice sheet isn't melting in fact it is growing I had to stop the video. There must be an international conspiracy to doctor satellite images and present them as fake news. I'll leave it at that.
  3. As if they didn't charge for bags before. Just like the heat and A/C, the overhead lighting, clearing the parking lots of snow etc. was all "free."
  4. Of course a wake board boat. I guess if you have the coin go for it. Then you can buy one for skiing, Bass fishing, Walleye fishing, panfish fishing,, and, and, and.
  5. When the accident was 1st reported there was a pic of a boat very similar to the one Chris showed in the response above. I don't even know how to describe this "Bat Boat". Some kind of ski boat I guess.
  6. What's wrong with them hillbilly's from West Virginia. 99 Walleye over their limit. Sucked in too much coal dust when they had a job and when they did have a job they didn't need to poach fish to eat I bet. I bet the commercial fishermen my way spill 99 Walleye emptying their nets every day.
  7. I remember a engineer at the plant in the early 70's telling me we reduce pollution through dilution. Just dump it on the lake son. I was recently told by a guy at the "recycling centre" that at one time was called a dump that 60% of recyclables end up in land fill. That doesn't mean I should put the other 40% in a green garbage bag. That green bag takes something like 300 years to break down I'm told. Just because countries like China, India and whoever doesn't take the steps we do for the environment doesn't give us the excuse to do the same. Some of the best advice I was given by my old General Foreman Mr. Bill Taylor was "Don't go down to their level make them come up to yours."
  8. Ford offers over 950 different versions of the F-150. They might get it right one of these days. I admit Rams are pretty trucks. Personally I don't need a cooler under the rear passenger seat I'd rather have the reliability of a good old Chevy 350 ci.
  9. I'm potty trained Wayne. They say the 1st time you marry is for sex, the 2nd time for love and the last time for money. I have only married once. The gal I've been with for the last 27 years is too stuck on the love thing, I am too.
  10. You don't need to be scientist to know we have really done a number on this Earth of ours. Millions of people just this past week protested all across the globe to bring attention to the huge cluster jam we are leaving our future generations. We/I dumped all sorts of chemicals into the sewers in the plant and massive amounts of CO2 into the air up to the mid 90's when things changed concerning the environment. Google Randal Reef. A small area in Hamilton bay that at one time was the most toxic water in North America. That is exactly where a major portion of all the plant cooling water was dumped into the bay or onto the ground. We are talking several thousands of gallons a minute. The West side open cut it was called. Today 100% of plant water is recirculated, if 1 litre of water is dumped into the bay or onto the ground we must notify the M.O.E. immediately. If something is sent to the air that has a opacity greater than 30% (may have changed today) again the MOE must be notified. They are a serious group of investigators. Most are retired investigators from the RCMP and OPP. Before I retired I had to pay a few fines they wrote up out of my own pocket. Just this week I read that 95% of all available land on Earth is used for farming We simply have too many people to feed. Those lands once had trees on them that produce all of the air we breath. It's a mess. We can all do our part for example something as simple as when sitting in line at a drive through shut off the vehicle, saves fuel and the air. It's actually a law in Ontario that I have never seen enforced. I sat in line at Timmy's and the Cop in front of me didn't shut off her car, just the other day. Citizens arrest time?
  11. It's a Common Squakwida(skwalk widda). I have a pal that is "Mr. Outdoorsman" that calls any bird he doesn't know a Squakwida. There is a farmer out our way that has all sorts of crazy looking ducks and geese. He even has Wild Turkeys that hang around his farm with all the other birds. I've never seen or even heard of Wild Turkey staying in a domestic setting.
  12. I can't remember what I was going to say but guarantee you it had nothing to do with this thread! Oh yea it does. Mom and Dad used to put the BBQ'd peppers in brown paper bags to sweat them well and the skins came off easily. I lay down newspapers and lay the peppers on them in layers on the table. Does the same thing as paper bags of which I never get any paper bags from the store these days.
  13. I've fished a lot in Fla. My go to was a simple flouro leader, a few split shot and what I call a casting float bait is Calamari or shrimp. Any of our minnow baits, crankbaits and spoons we use here will work there. The casting floats I use are about 4" and are weighted. You can toss them a long way from the dock or shore. If you decide to wade in the water make sure you have something on your feet and never walk anywhere you can't see your feet. I kick up the sand before I step forward. I once had the shock of my life when I stepped on a Ray. Lucky I didn't get stung. I was told by a neighbor depending on the Ray you can die before you get to shore. Caught everything from common Jacks to Sharks down there. Nothing more exciting to get a 20 pound Bat Ray on medium spinning gear. Be sure to rinse your tackle with fresh water after every outing otherwise it will rust if you fish salt or brackish water. Make sure you get the proper fishing license and a copy of the regs. available on-line to make sure you are good to go. Those C.O.'s are a serious bunch. Good luck, be safe and have fun.
  14. Wayne is it too late to adopt me? You get down there safely and enjoy yourselves.
  15. I have to check that out. Yes, yes she was in it. I still have a crush on her. She was the redhead my wife reminded me tonight. Thanks John, you must be a fan as well.
  16. Does she get the car in the will? Or should I say does the new guy get it too? I'm so happy you can have some happy days in your life Irish. You guys deserve it.
  17. Roasting Shepard's (again the peppers not the herders) isn't fun unless there is someone with you. It is an event not a chore. I taught a few mangacakes here how to do them years ago. Charlie Hoover made the best roast red pepper soup you ever had (RIP Chuck) . Now It's a tradition here that has been passed on to folks that can date their Families back to the Revolutionary War. The Hoover Family out here are descendants of United Empire Loyalists that came north in 1775 and 1776. I think it is a great thing that they have Family members in the US that decided to stay and now they have a huge Family reunion with Canucks that left and Yanks that stayed over 200 hundred years ago in Maryland and Ohio.
  18. I have never thrown a Senko in my life. Not fair for the fish I'm told.
  19. Art there is absolutely no reason to explain yourself. I haven't always agreed with everything here but respect the fact you guys do this for absolutely nothing but a community service. Actually I won't say for free because I just heard the other day from a unnamed "whistleblower" (the word of the month) here you just went out and bought yourself a Ferrari with the proceeds from this free forum. Can I buy in please? I want a new boat. edit: A few new boats.
  20. Saw the series, it didn't have my crush Lucy Loveless on it though.
  21. I thought I posted this but guess I didn't. We were told to keep it down once by an usher when we had seats 2 rows up from 1st base. We were slagging on the 1st base coach then Oaklands 1st baseman and the sight challenged Ump. I guess we were bothering the 2 ladies in front of us all dolled up to be seen on TV, or the 1st baseman or coach. I told him I wanted to see his Supervisor. It's a ball game for God's sake not a funeral. But that's typical of a good quiet Canadian sports fan back in the 90's. Thank God for millennials, they know how to cheer at a ball game. If the Ti Cats have 20,000 fans at home 19,999 are dressed in Tiger Cat garb. You never saw that 30 years back, ever. You go boy's and girl's.
  22. You are asking "How long is a rope?" Are you asking for replacement cost or real losses? I bet he had some Rappala's for example that he paid 5 bucks for that go for 15 bucks today. What did his policy say? If they pay more than $500.00 I would be very surprised. 10K, no way.
  23. I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what your Family and yourself is going through. As far as the tackle I have I had to declare the 4 grand I have in rods, reels and tackle I have in the truck, boat or home at any given time. Complete with photos. One box alone is $1900.00 It's just like jewelry at home. It has to be documented fully to get reimbursed due to loss. Most homeowners, boats and vehicle losses are $500.00 without declaration of valuables. I don't think you can get what you lost in tackle unfortunately unless documented fully. Read your policy.
  24. Charge everyone with whatever they can if something sticks the Crown wins. Lets see what happens. I bet some guilty please are forthcoming. When this social media stuff became a thing I promised myself I would never practice Law or Medicine online and still won't. I only missed about 8 years of education to do so and if I did get a degree in each it wouldn't be for free. I'm watching "Xena Warrior Princess" in the background of this post. Man I forgot I was in love with Lucy Lawless back in the 90'. You yungins' need to Google Lucy. Gotta go.
