  1. I have learned Johnson Controls manufacture 85% of all batteries sold here. Each battery has a maximum number of charges to full from below 20%, thus the difference in prices from cheap to expensive. Like Dave said don't let the battery go below 50%.
  2. I would only catch and release Bass from the NY side of the lake.
  3. If I saw a Musky on this part of the lake I would buy a 649 ticket. Better odds winning that. Wouldn't that be nice though. They are making a huge come back in Long Point Bay I hear, small but they are there. Some say they have always been there. They are spotted Musky. Big definite round spots.
  4. We were having a libation on the deck before dinner last night and my wife asked "are those carp?" no my dear lady they are huge female Small Mouth Bass looking for some nice digs and a date. They were big Momas too. Having watched them spawn here for 20 years now I can say through experience that they will be finished spawning and off the beds by the 4th Saturday in June here in Zone 19. Good for the Bass not so good for the once a year Bass fisherman. It looks like the 403 here on opening weekend and then only a few boats the rest of the year here out front or is it out back? They are about 1/4" when they leave the beds and there has to be thousands of coffee ground sized fry for each bed once hatched. I always wondered what the survival rate to adulthood for them is?
  5. I wouldn't mess with brakes, they are a tad important.
  6. Make sure they can't sneak back into the warm dry house. You had a back yard!!!! Bragger.
  7. The crossbred Coho, Walleye and Musky. An old not so funny anymore joke in this time of political correctness.
  8. Thanks for all the words of encouragement. I did find some Sea Foam in Caledonia CTC Dan, thanks. The boat sits in line at Proctors awaiting a diagnosis. At least I got a free Fishfull Thinking hat from Charlie Wray who was there to service his tinny, what a boat!!. A good guy.
  9. How much is the cost for a amateur to get hurt badly doing a job that should be left to a professional? Especially in tight quarters. A 70 foot plus triple clump Poplar cost me $750.00, cleaned up and left 5 cords of the big stuff for camp fires. Money well spent. 15 years ago I might have done it.
  10. They predict the city will never reach 88,000 residents again. There were 450 layoffs a few days before the fire. After this many will have bid farewell to Fort Mac and go back to where ever they once came from. It must be frustrating being laid off constantly and have the huge cost of living associated with living there full time.
  11. Only one way to find out, get them out there. Roughing it isn't something you learn late in life or in school. Once they have been to Disney World and a few 3 star resorts even, camping is something they might not catch onto. I was 23 the first time I slept in a tent, too late for me to learn to care to enjoy it.
  12. It doesn't look like Home Depot Canada has it. I will have to check with the stores to see if I can order it. 7.5'X14' sheets available in the US, how thick I don't know. I don't want a seam Dan as Princess Auto's is 4 feet wide only, but thanks. HD sells it as garage flooring. I will check some flooring stores in Hamilton.
  13. Thanks Buckeye. Easy as that. I never even thought about Home Depot.
  14. Jeff, O am saddened to hear of your wife's health problem. A thing no one should have to endure. Cancer free here for 5 years and counting. I have not been to Memquisit but I can't see any lodge that way being any nicer to stay at than Maskinonje. Regan and Goldie are fantastic hosts and you can't find a cleaner place anywhere. Italo Labignon chose to stay their and shoot an episode, that says a lot. If not for Goldie I would have sunk my boat even the 4 year old helped. I hope they have remedied the launch though. Where ever you choose to go don't forget to put in the plug. Put in the plug, put in the plug, don't forget the plug.
  15. I appreciate that the lake is their home not mine. I just want to give a heads up to the other species in the lake, humans. They fly very close to the water.
  16. I want to replace my carpeting on the bow casting deck on my 19 foot StarCraft that's 22 years old. I will never match the carpet that I can get from StarCraft because of fading and really like the look of the checker plate rubber flooring. Does anyone know of a supplier in or around the Golden Horseshoe? I see many online but all seem to be out of the USA. It runs around 3 bucks a square foot for 1/4 inch thick stuff. The custom $100,000.00 fishing boat they did up for the Fishin' Canada show has it throughout the boat. The heat it may hold, and I'm sure it gets hot, isn't an issue as I always wear shoes as well as my guests. Thank you for any help.
  17. Know I know what that cartoon thing is since it says what it is on the quote feature, tease. Never knew before. You could make something magic with the burled Walnut I have
  18. I don't know if it a Splake. Tiger Musky or a Cowallsky, I do know however that it's a beautiful fish.
  19. You got me until I saw the boat. Great day you had sacrifice or not. My Mom wanted nothing more for her than the 4 of us taking off for the day and leaving her be.
  20. There was a 100W solar panel on sale for 40% to 50% off at CTC last week. Somewhere between $250.00 and $300.00. But like others have said here even at $500.00 regular price it won't meet your needs for that short term trip. I would just bring a second battery or 2 fully charged or invest in a small genny. A battery booster is a must for any boater. Great for camping too as it can be used to keep the phone charged or power a TV and provide a good camp table light. Can't go anywhere without our phone and internet today. I charged my $89.99 CTC booster pack last November and stuck it in my wife's car. It's still showing a full charge today and it was used to boost a car once last winter as well. Great insurance.
  21. 20 years ago a Cormorant sighting here on Erie was rare. Now running out into the lake a flock at least a mile long is common. I have had to veer off course to avoild them. I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of one or more of those rockets flying 5 feet off the water. I'm told they will fly right into the path of a boat and not change course unlike some waterfowl.
  22. Dave I had the same TV in the 70's!!!!!!!!!!!!! My small tube is 60 "s. Poor eye sight is what I tell my Lady. Type 2 = poor eyesight. However, nice unit, you have some skills my dear Man. Make the opening 80" and it will fit my next Boob Tube. My current one is only 70. Poor eyesight remember? You can build me my next unit, no Pine and Shakers though. I have some burled Walnut on the property, would that be sweet?
  23. No you're not. I'm not the most mechanically sharp tool in the box. Please excuse my ignorance. What does a piece of rubber tube have to do with drilling a hole?
  24. Get the right tool for the job. In this case a metal hole saw bit. You will be able to use the proper bit afterwards but it may kill your wood bit after maybe 1 use only. Borrow one. and . I know of more than 1 person that has bought a tool from HD then brought it back once they are done. Me, never.
