  1. There's nothing wrong with that at all!
  2. What happens to a lot of topwaters is that water gets inside of them and when they appear to be dry are thrown in the tackle box and that's where they stay to rust out.
  3. Yeah, CLOSA sounds great, they're close to where you are and they meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month which happens to be this Wednesday!
  4. If they post it, we'll put it up.
  5. Very impressive Terry.
  6. Mike, keep an eye on the "Announcements and Contests" sub forum. That's where these things are posted. Events such as tackle swaps, tournaments, sales etc...
  7. That's fantastic, Joey! Glad you had a good day. UMMMM Trout for supper?
  8. And an added thought Dan, you've been paying forward here for so long that it probably would be a good time for a member of the community to pay it forward also...... just sayin'
  9. Man, there are hundreds of them Dan! I can't help you but I'm positive that someone here can. One of their questions will be "For how many people?" Good luck.
  10. All is clean at this end.
  11. Congrats Lorne and thank you for the initiative, Dan. Great job!
  12. Does your brother fish at all? He might know a few places too? Have a good trip and a good reunion with your brother. Please remember to thank him on our behalf for accepting to go there. Whether it's military, journalism or whatever....Afghanistan is not high on the list of most sought after destinations for anyone.
  13. Soft lead is just another way of saying clean lead. Used wheel weights for example are not "soft lead" as they have all kinds of impurities mixed in. You can still pour decent sinkers, jigs, bottom bouncers etc...but you'll get more rejects than you would with soft (clean) lead. Most of the impurities in dirty lead will float to the top as the lead melts and can be skimmed off but beware...the more you handle hot lead, the greater your chances of hurting yourself or someone near you. This is not boiling water. Lead won't drip off your skin....it'll stay there and burn its way through.
  14. It's a lot of work. It really depends on what you want to do with this tourney. Do you just want to make it big or do you want to make it good. You'll need to know and understand how tournaments work. Don't start with tackle manufacturers. They are the zebra mussels of the tourney world. You'll need a boat manufacturer, an outboard manufacturer and a big name or two in fishing pros. Once you have that, the rest will be attracted like magnets. It'll cost you money the first years.
  15. Thanks for that, Rob.
  16. You'd have to buy that separately. Go to Navionics...go to Hot Maps then check Canada...it'll show the list a thousands of maps for Canadian lakes by Province.
  17. It looks like someone stuck a Luhr Jensen lip into another bait.
  18. A call to the authourities with a few plate numbers and pics might have helped more.
  19. You only pay if you pass.....if you fail you don't pay. You do the math.
  20. Thanks for that, Lorne. For those of us, such as myself, who don't know about these things, it's a great educational thread.
  21. Yeah, be careful which stores you frequent.
  22. You should have read the whole thread, Bill.
  23. Universal joint maybe. ? edit: Yeah Dave's suggestion sounds good too.
  24. Two excellent replies. Thanks for taking the time, guys.
