  1. Download the emulator for you particular model Lowrance HERE! That way you can practice with it without having to be out in the boat.
  2. Mike and FWF, I just wrapped the walleye chunks. Lotsa folks add spices, herbs and sauces but I like the taste of walleye too much to add anything else. Even the bacon takes away from the fish.
  3. Thanks Lew, yeah, I bought a 60hp four stroke on Friday night. They will install it on Tuesday next. And. on your advice, got a Minn-Kota Edge bowmount. I got the 70lb 24 volt model.
  4. Last night I had the last of my walleye. I tried the bacon wrapped method for a change. Quite decent...added a coupla filet mignons with it and it was poifect. Now I'm allowed to keep a fish or two when I get out there. I spose that this weekend will be the last time I waltz with the 2 stroke so I'll try to give it a good send off. Fish are at 28-29 FOW here now and biting lightly. Be well.
  5. Scary stuff, Paul. I'd never even heard of that disaster.
  6. A wonderful report Jamie. Congrats to Bella on her fishies.
  7. I think your best bet would be to call the operator of that fly-in service and ask them. Some may adjust their rates to cover increased fuel costs. Edit: Oops, and welcome aboard.
  8. Holding an out of season fish out of the water too long is an offence and should be dealt with either through education or legal intervention. Pushing another human being into a lake or river could be either assault or attempted murder. This one has gone far enough.
  9. Enjoyed having you here Hawk. That looks like a really nice place to spend the soft water season. You stay safe up there. ps. Try to keep a journal of your time up there it'll make writing the report much easier for you.
  10. WTG Paul! Nice of you to take the captain of another team fishing. Paul, did you know that 15% of our opposing captains wear lipstick?
  11. Way to go Fidel. A beauty start to the season for sure. Thanks for sharing that.
  12. Phil is one of the kids? Bring duct tape Connie. Have a superb time up there all of you.
  13. Happy Birthday Sweetie. I got you a special gift but J says they don't look good on me.
  14. Happy Birthday to you my friend. You have the bestest day!
  15. Scary account there Lew. I'm so glad your mother pulled through it so well. Reading through it, and getting to the part where you saw her sitting there reading, I'm sure I noticed a smile poking through the tears of joy. It was indeed a Happy Mother's Day.
  16. I'll change that Bubba
  17. Thanks for the report. You guys did good. It really would be a good idea to swish them around in the water once or twice to get the crap off of them though.
  18. I hear ya Steve. Once you make a commitment to fly our flag, part of that commitment is to keep it in very good condition. Our flag must always be on its own mast without another flag under or over it.
  19. Geez Cliff, that would confuse the hell outta me!
  20. Gerritt, I got a 60hp 4 stroke Mercury (tiller ) and a 70 lb Minn-Kota Edge 24V. I'm happy as a pig in poop. They'll install it/them on the 20th.
  21. You got THAT right, Dan. It's the same price for everyone else. We're all supposed to be self-sufficient. I think we can all work our way through this without whining about it.
  22. I got a new 4 stoke last night and I thought it would be a nice touch if I just hung around the house today doing garden work and boiling up the lobsters that were on special this morning.
  23. If you want a decent rod and are on a budget, go with the Maina muskie rod. I use an 8'6" Maina and the rod is strong, well built and is super sensitive to the bait's action. Because of its length, you can cast all day with it too. I also use Loomis and Shimano rods but I'd put the Maina rod up against any of them. You can buy the combo (great reel) for less than the price of a Loomis and have an extra reel. The downside is that they're only available at Bass Pro Shops if you haven't one real close to you. Try one, you won't be sorry.
  24. Well, I went out at 6 tonight and finally got the motor I wanted. I bought a Mercury 60HP 4 stroke with the trimmings. TILLER! I had purchased a 70lb, 24 volt Minn-Kota also a few weeks ago but they didn't have it in stock, so, they will install both on Tuesday te 20th. Happy dude here now. If someone wants a 30 hp Mariner 2 stroke, say the word.
  25. All fishing related vids are nice. I'm kind of partial to THESE!
