  1. it does seems like it's been quite a while since I saw one of your reports!! Great fish, and even better jersey Damn I wish i have one!!
  2. great work guys, my weekend hasn't fared as well so far. Only got a couple.
  3. I really like derrick rose as well. Humble and works hard, and of course lighting quick. I hope that they can win against Miami but I think the series is 50/50. Doubt that OKC can find anyone to guard Dirk. He's just keep stroking it or make his points at the FT line.
  4. Welcome back bud! Did you pick up any tackle while you were there? I bought 2 whips + whip holder and some floats when I went to Taiwan last year. Those are probably impossible to find around here. How did you like the carp fishing? We gotta go for some Lake O carp haha. Carp is actually considered as delicacy at some parts of China/Taiwan/Europe. I was told that there are restaurants in Taiwan that just specializes in serving carp. There are tons of ways to cook it. The more common methods are streaming/stew I believe. Not really a big fan of it myself
  5. Nice work guys! Open water whities! I'm kinda jealous, even if I have my boat fixed it won't be able to handle big water like that.
  6. WOW! That's a nice mirror! Congrats! Good for you for braving out the elements.
  7. all the lures look amazing Mike. Just like the others I can't wait to see the report of your trip. Good luck!
  8. Looks like you are getting the hang of those underwater shots. You definitely had a better morning compared to us haha.
  9. It was nice meeting you today. Always cool to learn about different tactics/rigs. Sort of the same thing for us. Spot#1 nothing Spot#2 nothing and finally got a bit of activity at Spot#3 to avoid the skunk. Must have been lots of fun on the light tackle. It sucks about the rod, hopefully they'll fix it for ya!
  10. Great work! Persistence sure paid off. Regardless whether it's a 30 or not I'm sure it put up a fun fight and it's a nice clean fish!
  11. I see the topic of your post and i'm like ... "Arg should I click into it? should i? I'll just be so depressed after seeing all your big fish and amazing scenery" great report as always man.
  12. 5/7 on your first outing is amazing! Congrats.
  13. great write up steven. That sure is a fatty. Real clean one too! Gonna dust off my carp gear and give it a shot this weekend!
  14. Kudos for toughing out the crazy weather. It sounds like a much better way to spend opener as opposed to standing shoulder to shoulder with 20 other guys in a pool Enjoyed the read, thanks for sharing with us.
  15. "i need to get some ideas for the design and my only way of brainstorming is being out on the lake or at the side of the river"
  16. have to say it really makes my not-so-great day alot better to hear about the news. Nice shots!
  17. Great report bud. I guess I'm already getting old lol. After a long day on Sat .. made plans to leave early Sunday morning but ended up sleeping through my alarm.
  18. I still remember my first time using a centerpin. I was learning/practicing how to do a side-cast back then. MJL was coaching me and he told me to let go of the line once the rig is casted out. Lesson of the day back then was that ... let the hand that's holding the line go, and not the one holding the rod/reel. I was lucky that I didn't ding up my reel lol
  19. it's always nice to be on the bank, especially with good company. Nice work. Usually get some pretty good sized fish at that spot, probably just need some warmer temps.
  20. I was very shocked to hear this. John was a great guy, very nice, funny guy. Was hoping to do some carp fishing around his home waters but never got to it. RIP, you will be remembered John!
  21. I can't wait till the day I hear my alarm go crazy, gonna be real soon
  22. Wolfville's covered it all. The most basic alarm wiil catch you the same amount of fish, the rest is just bells and whistles.
  23. My bad. You're right, I never used an electric motor with a canoe and I was actually thinking about my boat's cranking batt. My deep cycle battery IS heavy compared to the cranking batt. lol
  24. I used a 1.5hp motor on my canoe shortly before it broke down. Have never tried with an electric though so I can't really give you a comparison. Keep in mind though gas motors are heavier so you may not be that much lighter compared to an electric-rig. It also puts more stress on the motor mount. You can possibly find a 40lb thrust?
  25. It's nice seeing you again Carole! Weather was great! Definitely not always about the catching, well it would be nice if I could catch a few though haha
