  1. try doing a search on "favourite lure" ... or something along those lines i think the conclusion from that post was that... a lot of the people chose white grub and a jig other popular ones are worms, small spinners
  2. well said oxcowboy man i hate studying for final exams i was hoping this one would turn into another "late night comedy" thread
  3. thanks for putting the time to post such great info!
  4. must have been a fun trip. great to be on a new river and avoid all the crowds, thanks for sharing!
  5. nice to be out fishing even though the weather wasn't really cooperating. The cat in the last pic, its whiskers looks like christmas-tree-light-cables lol and i'm guessing you can tell everyone that "you risk your life bringing in your first cat of 2008"
  6. i've got the portable version. Only a few parts need to be put together, very straightforward. Other than batteries, you won't need anything that doesn't come with it.
  7. haha "lungless frog" hmm ... deep-fried or bbq? lol
  8. personally i've never tried it but i know a lot of people use high pound test flouro line as leaders instead of wire. it will have better lure action and the fish won't see it as easily
  9. topwater lures work best at dusk and dawn or at low light conditions. they work better on warmer temps as the fish is more willing to swim out of its cover, come up and grab the lure. I haven't caught a lot of fish on them but it sure is loads of fun when you do get one on. jerking and pausing the lure should get you the "popping" action
  10. wow, that's amazing. the shot where it caught 2 fish at once is crazy!
  11. haven't seen you around for a while minnow! gotta be nice to fish on open water with such nice weather we've been getting ...
  12. don't worry buddy, you'll get some fish next time. at least the weather was nice. i got skunked last Jan. when i tried steelheading on a -19 day, that...was quite the experience lol
  13. nice fish dsn! good to see you back again. can't wait till my exams are over

  19. have seen one close up while hiking around the tobermory area. heard the rattle and saw it about 3-4 metres from the trail ...
  20. a lot of people travel greater distance one way to get to work ... i worked at the airport during one of my co-op terms and i know someone who came from the port hope area ... that's 2 hours one way and going through the crazy 401 during rush hour as well. IMO having to go through all the traffic jams is the worst ...
  21. hmm. hopefully a better hookset next time. Thanks for the entertaining report!
