uh now the truth comes out... you're actually fighting a snag in the 5th pic. LOL "the agony of defeat" is great

Doing a much-anticipated overnight Carping trip with some friends/fellow OFNers Fri-Sat. Sunday and Monday are still open but it will probably be family time/yardwork time. Good luck to all and have a fun, safe weekend!

beats me that someone gave you attitude ... usually when i'm at the reel counter i have a good chat with the salespersons. Have you tried talking to the manager on duty? As for the reel, have you checked out the daiwa viento? It's got a twitching bar and lefty model ... have never used one on the water but it seemed real nice when i picked it up last time i was there ...

amazing colors. That has to be the most beautiful fish i have seen thus far, makes a great wallpaper! Thanks for sharing!

lol .. this is the comment from one of the guys on youtube "unbelievable, I crapped my pants when I caught my 6 pounder. " it is unbelievable though.

Here's another one... Carp Fishing Tips and Articles Rod: Preferably something longer with alot of backbone so you can handle the fish easier instead of the fish yanking you around Reel: Big spool with a good drag system Location: A lot of waters in and around the TO area have carp in them ... some are even at places you never expect to see a fish at. All the places you mentioned can potentially have carp swimming around. Do a bit of scouting, they aren't that hard to spot. Bait: If you're just starting out, grab yourself a can of sweet corn from the grocery store and start fishing! Good luck!

and btw... where is dsn? ... stop hogging the spot in front of the camera Mike. You did say that he caught fish too lol... lets see his face

It seems that you always have good scenery and fish pics in your reports. love'em. At least you got into some fish even though it was slow, heck... at least you got to get out lol. The 2nd fish you caught today is so cool ... any confirmation on what it actually is? or just a normal carp that hung out too much around the powerplants lol Yup. Can't wait till the long weekend to get my first of 08.

Nice catch! Congrats on the PB! Don't you just love how we got such good fishing at home.
-
Definitely a nice way to spend a couple of hours after work. Rich: Love your t-shirt Cool how the dorsal fin on the first fish stays up Sugarpacket: the fish you got in the 2nd pic is gotta be the cutest carp i have ever seen lol ... usually the smaller one i catch (1-3lb range) have a silvery color to them and they're more like the shape of a sunfish rather than a long bullet.

Don't worry, we don't have rules here saying that you can't post fish caught the year before or something just joking. Great clean looking fish! Thanks for sharing.

Thank for the report and sharing the pics. That's some beautiful scenery right there! Congrats on the PB laker! These father and son trips are just priceless! have a great summer!

Congrats on the PB once again! Wow that was quick . How good can it get when you hook this big girl after dropping your rig for 5 minutes!! Just a tip I've learned from fellow carpers, when lifting these big fish out of the water in the net, instead of bringing them up using the net handle, point the net handle towards the sky and lift up. Use your knees to lift instead of your back. I think this way it will be much easier on the net-person and the net. MJL has offered to give me free carp weights if i french kiss a carp the next time we go out ... hmm ... it isn't so bad after all eh?

Uh i see, i was just fooling around haha.

Went out with my dad to a conservation area for the first time on the pike opener. Launched the canoe at around 8am and stayed till 2pm ... fishing was pretty slow for us. Tried trolling on the canoe for the first time as well, we only had one rod holder so I told my dad to hold on his rod while I use the rod holder and do the paddling. Man, paddling with two people and gear in the canoe by myself wasn't easy at all...i had to watch my rod, and battle the wind to try to keep us going in a straight line. My hard work was rewarded though ... Dad got the first fish of the day, a 17 incher... it's a small one but it's his first ever pike! Shortly after I hooked into one, came in at 24 inches, a fair sized fish for this lake. It has got a fat belly...we kept it and when I was cleaning its guts, i found a 6 inch rock bass in there. The WGSF was completely owned by this toothycritter. What a nice way to christen my new saros. As the sun went higher up the action died down, i caught another 17inch fish and we called it a day. Orange was the hot color of the day ... wish i had brought some orange marshmellows All in all a great day out on the water and some father&son time.

HOLY It's caught on rod and reel?? ... wouldn't one jump be strong enough to yank 2-3 people into the water?
-
Great looking fish! Congrats on the PB. They only fight better once it gets warmer Any length/weight measurement on this big fish?
