  1. I wouldn't want to wear any Ticat garb around town. I'm scared to face my buds. Our best players that are on the other teams are cremating us.
  2. I have the Helix 7 with GPS and down imaging. Don't waste your money on the Navionics + card, the charts you download from their site are way OFF. Shows shoals were there isn't any, depths are way off. One spot I was fishing showed me on land with my boat. I also have the Fish-N-Chip and it's way off. Now they tell me I need to buy a program for $200.00 and a 32GB micro card to make my own chart.
  3. Johnny, looks good this Wednesday at Burwell
  4. They roped of the channels in the Narrows boat houses. It's lake Simcoe water. It's going to kill the Biggest Perch Derby in CANADA SHAME ON THE MARINA OWNERS. Was a great place to take a kid fishing, not saying the older kids
  5. There is a free launch across from Tudhope Park, it's very close to the Narrows. Then you can Fish Simcoe or Couchiching. Also a free launch in Couchiching off Centennial Dr., near Couchiching Beach Park, if you launch there be careful, there is a few shallow spot driving over to the Narrows.. The rest of Simcoe is off limits to outsiders.
  6. I've been on Erie the last couple days, and its Sheephead floating, happens every year.. Sheephead is poor man's shrimp, I know a few guys that eat them. Filet Sheephead, cut filet in strips, one cup of salt in boiling water soup pot, drop strips in, starts to float and turn white, scoop out and put on ice cubes, dip in Shrimp Sauce. You can do the same with Musky, Bass. And there is some people that will eat Tilapia or Basa from Vietnam river sewer. You'd be surprised , what you'd eat buried in Shrimp Sauce, and say it was good.
  7. I think you have to supply your own Micro 32 G card and purchase the program for $199.00 I have the Helix 7 with the Navionics + card, I know the lake Ont chart portion depths on the card is way off, not accurate at all.
  8. This is the one I use, comes out great, some people over brine, to long in the brine and to much salt. This you can sit down and eat a lot and not complain about too salty. Just did a batch this week, buddy's complain I should do more 8 to 10 pounds fillets, skin on, rinsed, patted dry, cut into small pieces. A good size is about 3″ x 6″, but smaller or slightly larger is fine. Small trout can be cleaned and smoked whole. 8 cups water 1/2 cups soy sauce 1 1/2 cups brown sugar 1/2 cup sea salt or kosher salt (Do not use iodized salt. It will impart an unpleasant flavor.) 1 tsp granulated garlic Directions: Mix brining ingredients together in a large bowl. Pour mixture over fillets, making sure they are covered, or until they float. Cover containers and marinate for about 6 hours in the refrigerator. Remove fillets from brine, pat dry with paper towels, and arrange on racks to dry for about an hour – until a glaze forms on the surface of the fish. Smoke fish according to your smoker’s directions with alder wood, mesquite, fruit tree or hickory chips. Check occasionally, keeping in mind that air temperature will influence smoking time. Typical smoking times range from 6 to 12 hours. A slightly wet product is best suited for many of the recipes we enjoy and for canning. For straight snacking, a drier product may be preferred.
  9. I hope your right, Wish they would make it easier for us older guys. Where's my grandson Guess I got to get back out and push some more buttons on my machine and hope I don't screw things up.
  10. Anyone have a Twelve Mile Lake Chart they could PM me? Buddy is heading up with his kids and asked me if I had any info or lake chart I could give him. I have lots but not that lake. Just trying to help the guy out. Thanks Guys
  11. I did update my card, I also got the same deal with my Helix 7 DI G2. It also shows the shoal on the Web App. On my older Bird I had the Fish N Chip card and it wasn't that accurate. Thanks for your help. I'll check my machine for more settings.
  12. Navionics + card I purchased this card and loaded it. I've been fishing off L. Ont. 50 Pt. area, the chart is not any good for the south shore in that area. Readings on depths are way off and shows shoals where there isn't any. Anyone here have the same issue. Other day I trolled down around Community Beach and on the my GPS it showed a shoal that is not there. I trolled over it a few times the depth didn't change. I know the lake is up, but not to the fact that the depths are way off. I hope it's better for the smaller lakes I've loaded on it. On my depth finder it showed I was in 30 + feet so all the lines and depth #'s didn't mean anything.
  13. GOOD, all people like that should do the same, would save the Taxpayers a lot of money.
  14. After trolling all my life with a 2 stroke, now that I own a 4 stroke, I look at it and say where have you been all my life. I only fish, so going fast doesn't impress me. Mined you, if you want hole shots, step up your horsepower with a 4 stroke. Just sit at a boat ramp and watch guys launching 2 & 4 strokes. That should tell you what to consider.
  15. Pay attention to flyers. Buying in bulk sometimes costs more, know unit prices, you can get the item cheaper buying single. Use your CTC Master Card Options card any place you shop, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. you get CTC money, other day I checked I had over $200.00 in CTC money Other day I got Boneless Blade Roast at Lococo's $299 Lb. Stewing beef was $7.00 a Lb. Chop the roast up for stew. You'd be surprised people will say I only want stew meat. I've found Gas is the same price at costco as on the Rez. "Salt Cod pieces is lest than half the price of whole salt Cod, NOW that you made me hungry BRO" Fish and brews tonight Bro It all boils down to knowing your prices.
  16. Hawk Caps on #2 HWY going towards Brantford they were very cheap. (519) 759-6043 Some reason their site is down This is where I got mine Brian, mine is a Jason Windmill Caps http://www.usedtruckcaps.ca/ They also carry superdeals on brand new Truck Tires and Rims.
  17. Take your boat Kalvin with a For Sale sign on it. If you sell, your buying the WINGS and Bruce has the secret sauce
  18. X2 They have proven texting and cel phone in hand has caused double the amount of deaths but they won't go their. Cel phones as they say are for emergencies, so leave them in the trunk. If caught with one in your car 6 month suspension. I see it every few minutes I drive, heads looking down, driving in the left lane slowing down no one in front. People walking out in front of cars talking on them. Worlds going crazy. Very touching video I must say.
  19. Glad to hear your back home Brian, sound like your in good hands. Get well, the Perch will be calling soon.
  20. I'm with you Fisherman, can't believe anyone would drink that stuff
  21. Way to go Bro. I gots to get back up there one last time, you gave me the itch. Just got back from a Ice bungalow trip on Nipissing, 4 guys in a 8 man, 3 nights 4 days. 31 Walleye, 8 Perch, 1 Pike. Were already talking doing it again next year.
  22. Wholly crap Brian, wish you would have give me a buzz buddy. You'd be the last guy I'd figure to get that. You're a tough guy and I'm sure you'll get through this. Dam that is bad news. I still tell my buddys of your fishing adventures. You dam well get better my friend.
