Had some bad issues at BPS also Harry. I went to the electronics both to get some info on a new GPS-depth finder. 3 guys there behind the counter with those Pro shirts, shooting the crap looking at me like I had 3 heads. No help, I just walked away. That's why I shop local, little tackle shop on upper James gets my business plus they'll price match on most. I still go to BPS if I'm driving by and have the time to look around for different things.

Lets go the other way, why a bigger boat?? With the price of gas... you don't need a bigger boat to catch fish. Plus with a smaller boat you can keep your van. With a bigger boat your going to need a big tow vehicle (Truck SUV). The money you save on Gas and smaller vehicle, you can go more often. But if you must, go with a truck V8 4X4, as mentioned above, I've seen some ramp issues etc. ice, mud, steep, rocks on back lakes. Plus the safety for your family and others on the road. As Billy Bob says, good advice. OH" and one day you will be down sizing when you see the picture

Great report Steve, thanks for sharing. Could be a great talk at the next club meeting. $1000.00 for gas, that's probably why you had the lake by yourself.

Your only going fishing, as you say, your happy. The fish will still be there when you get there. As Roy said, stay within the Max. Buying another used bigger motor, you could end up with someones problems plus uses more gas.

That has to be the worse loss for any son, I relate myself Will. Sorry for your loss bud, Your signature says it all ( enjoy life, treasure the good times, keep the good memories with you, and whenever possible live your life to the fullest. ) Well said Will -
I see you haven't been here long. It's a joke, don't take things so serious.

This is like telling every one to buy a small car. We don't burn as much gas now so we have to put the price up because we don't sell as much. Just like Hydro with the smart meter. Just another stupid excuse. But I like #15, now to find a CEO

Thats my answer right there. I'm also looking for a GPS combo, I've had Lowrance for years and thinking of jumping ship to Hummingbird. But the down imaging I've been told is alright for showing imagines, not good for showing fish marks at any movement.

Aluminum boats have there place. There alright for the 1 day a week calm water trips, Give them the Great lakes test 5,6,7 days a week, 8, 10 hour days, then tell me if you don't have leaks. If I had to do it over again, I would go with Harborcraft or Stanley, cost more, but are life time boats. Just ask yourself if you see big cruiser boats in aluminum. Most charter boats that fish the great lakes are glass. I had the head guy from Princecraft look at my boat and he told me my problem was wave action. I was in a company in Bradford that repaired aluminum boats, he had every make there getting fixed. A buddy of mine only had his boat 2 years and the bow folded up from waves on Lake O. If it gets rough, trolling speed only back to port.

NF leagle advice for woman after husband left
Fish Farmer replied to Handlebarz's topic in General Discussion
As I said Mike, all cases are different. Don't listen to me or others. Let her and her husband work things out. It could cause friction between your family. Just stay in the shadows when the kids need help. Adults and the lawyers will sort out there deference's. Some time it's hard Mike because it's family. But who said life was easy. Just be there with a big shoulder. -
NF leagle advice for woman after husband left

Same thing here, but I would stay out of it if I was you, could come back and bite you. Plus she can't change the locks. You want to help, tell her to get legal advise, legal aid. An other thing, there's always two stories then the truth. -
Thanks Chris, It sure makes the heart good to see those people catch fish, they get so excited.

I'll give you a card, you got the new machine wet fishin. Plus you caught the #1 sot after game fish and it was first, Perch

What color works on one lake may not work on others. Colors do have an effect. I see they don't talk Chrome or Silver. Silver is allot brighter than chrome under water. Action is a big factor, certain movements trigger hits. I've seen on my under water camera just a gray sinker stirring up dirt on bottom will attract fish better than live bait, I've had Perch pick up my sinker off bottom. Some people think the red hooks they put on lures now are for attracting fish, not so. Red is not as visual under water. They install red hooks so fish can't see them like your standard hooks. Thanks for posting, good thread.

Were suppose to feel better, 6 cents. Man, do they think were stupid. 80 cents wouldn't be asking to much. The media has already told them to put it up for the weekend.
