Portable pack battery-where to buy
Fish Farmer replied to mike rousseau's topic in General Discussion
Acme Battery in Hamilton. 475 Parkdale Ave N, Hamilton ON L8H 5Y4 (905) 545-3053 -
Trucks were driving all over the lake yesterday. I parked at 9th. line Innisville on ice and drove my ATV all over looking for Whities. Not very successful. Can't believe the amount of people out fishin. Drove over to the east side of the Islands and tried different depths, nada. The only place I marked any fish was the west side of Fox. 53FTW. got a few bumps and caught a few dink Perch. Talked to a few people that were looking for Whities, they never saw a fish. Ice is at least 2' thick. A very few people are catching Whities, not like it used to be. Some locals are catching, there out there every day. There is fish out there, just got to find that lucky spot.

Sorry for your loss Lew. Sometimes it's nice having a dog, but losing one is not so.

No license and insurance, that could be a bonus in it self. What kind of battery and how much does it cost? is the next question. Out 2 miles and the battery goes dead? Saw a guy on Long Pt. Bay with a home made rototiller type thing pulling him self out, look funny but worked. Now if I could get my power auger to motor me around
-
Lew I get the same guy calling me trying to sell me Ducks or something. I tell him I eat Chicken, he slams the phone on me. Guy phones me 2,3 times a month.

As your signature says Wayne, my wife tells me that all the time Do they have boiled dinner at the convention

Quote from Misfish: Gezz bro, I can't help you out, I was in the work force at age 15 Good job the figures weren't any higher, had to take my socks off, good job I have all my toes and fingers. 10X2 =20-5=15 Make this homer feel good Mike, did I get-er right. My Quote tab doesn't work??? -
Do these companies, utilities, etc. ever think about the old that live on fixed pensions. They can't afford things now. Our government talks about a new budget every few months that it's only going to cost us a few bucks more. Did these people ever go to school and do math. Where are those elderly going to get the money they don't have.
-
And our government has lots of money to waste on the stupid Olympics'. Makes me sick to see how much money it cost for to build such waste. Win or lose, in a month, nobody will give a dam. Billion's of dollars wasted for nothing. Now our government is more worried about waving a rainbow flag, than your friends down the road Cliff, they couldn't give 2 worst for them. Our government thinks on a different level than us that built this country. They don't even hear us Cliff. I was at the Legion today and what your talking about Cliff we talked about the very same thing today. Were lucky were on the way out, but what's in store for our young. Media tells every thing is good, makes me wonder what world they live in. As I've mentioned in other threads, the end is coming and fast.

Way to go Steve. Looks like you were jiggin those babbys. Any Perch in the mix? Didn't see you at the Awards Night.

Our politicians are ruining this country, that guy should bury his head in cow dung along with the rest of them .

The steel is so hard & brittle Phill, after a couple hundred holes drilling ice they do chip. Could be dirt in the ice or what ever. Cheap steel, not like the good steel you and Glenn made. Probably Arcelor or US crap
-
That's great, glad it worked It's a good possibility that your augers pitch could have been bent a bit, it doesn't take much, you won't see it with the eye. I have a few augers hanging in may garge that are toast. I've shimed them till I can't shim any more. One day I'm going to try bending them in the vise to try and re pitch them. Nothing to lose.
-
You feel that way, you can come help shovel my driveway Cliff if you like, make sure you wear a survival suit -21 here. Just kidding. Don't rush back Cliff, to dam cold up here. Plus you're catchin fish.
-
My manual auger blades look like his and cuts no problem. Shims are a cheap fix, nothing to lose. Worth a try. Just saying
-
Before you throw the blades away try shimming the blades. Take a soup can or a piece of thin tin and cut 2 pieces 3/16 X 2", loosen the screws a little and shove the pieces under the cutting side of the blade then tighten. Try that. It will tilt your blades a bit and dig-in. Sometimes it doesn't matter if you buy new blades, if you have banged it, it can throw the pitch off the auger and you're augers toast. Hint: when you drill through the ice and clean the hole, reme with the upper screw part not the cutting end. Lots of used augers in garage sales that are toast because they have been banged and the pitch is gone.

Nice picture Joey, looks like a lot of snow on the lake. Could make for hard travel for the ATV. Still haven't been to suicide hill Bear Pt. yet for Whities.
-
First I was going to say Fluger but thats just a guess. I guess you could call it No-Name I'm going to send this thread to my buddy thats with the antique tackle ass.

It was cold, good job we didn't have the wind. After you drilled a hole the water froze and my boots stuck to the ice. Been watching for some good reports on catchin some Whities Bro, haven't seen much. I may hit Big Bear Pt. and give it a shot. I've been hitting Erie a couple times a week, not catchin many Perch, it's been slow. You got that right Joey, haven't seen it stay that cold for that length of time for years, even next week it's going to be bitter. Mr Heater has been getting a work out.
-
Buddy and myself caught 20 Perch and a couple bonus Pike yesterday. My Buddies was caught jigging a Williams spoon yellow with a red stripe and mine on a Williams whitefish 1/2&1/2 Man it was cold out there, ice was cracking all morning, then it happened. I was checking around drilling a few holes looking for a better spot and BANG what a explosion, right beside me the ice jumped up and overlapped near me. My machine and myself must have slid forward about a foot. Never saw that in my life, Was like a earth quake, had to check my pants. Guys watch driving & walking around out there, lots of soft spots. Don't mind the pictures took them on my old cel phone, my camera was frozen.
-
I like that one , may try it next time. I tell them I only like chicken not ducks and my chicken always come clean so why would I want to buy ducks that aren't cleaned, they hang up.
