  1. We have a shop in Hamilton that is just like the one you mention Brian. Bill's Bait & Tackle. Sometimes when I get in their shop I forget what I went in for because of the hospitality. I enjoy going there just to shoot the crap with owners Greg and Tim and the customers, it's a meeting place. If they don't have what you want, they'll be glad to get it for you. All the people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about Bill's.
  2. We had 80 people show for the Derby considering the weather was bad. Lot's of nice Perch were caught, and everyone had a great time. Winning Perch caught by Jack was 14 1/2" below The rest of the winners below
  3. Great report thanks for sharing. Nothing better than getting away with your buddy's and brother. I've always wanted to try out Baril, I used to fish the Key R.
  4. I bet I know the finish Shame to catch fish with those pieces of art. Fish scales and slim is hard to come off Nice work boys
  5. Adult 18 or over content http://www.safeshare.tv/w/UAGOcLSuLX Lib's, Conserv, or Ndp. Next question, who should we vote for. I guess the best Lier , should I vote for a Lier? When's it all going to stop?
  6. Fresh Perch fried and 4 fried eggs, green tomato chow, toast and jam. OH ya, a few cups of coffee. Some days, good thick slice Bacon and fired Eggs, real home fries with onion and mushrooms, bread fried in bacon fat. Breakfast like that you don't have to come off the lake till dark, no lunch or supper, just a few beers before bed time. Some days when I feel health conscious, Red River cereal or Oatmeal Porridge with brown sugar. Put like some mention just a coffee on the run and make it happen, get the boat on the truck and lets "GO" , lots of time to eat latter, times-a-wastin, fishis to be caught And make sure the boat tank is full, dark is a long time off. If you only want to do half days, stay on shore .
  7. Capt, this derby was held on the Grand River near Caledonia. Talk to a few guys that fished the river all year and they said it's been tough fishin
  8. They had 63 people that entered the derby and only 7 fish were caught. Fishing was tough but the weather was great. I had one brake off, I'm hoping was a Pike First Place 1.10 LB. went to Jeff Monty Second Place went to Mike Bertrand 1.7 LB. And Third Place went to Les with a 1.4 LB. Can't wait for the next Walleye derby in a few weeks. Caledonia Bait and Tackle
  9. Another knife in the back of the angler. This is our Lake STAY OUT if you don't were going to Gouge you, Innisfil you can kiss my, that's why more people take a chance parking on unsafe ice. Thanks Gogan for your efforts. Signed
  10. I've caught Perch and Sheephead bigger than that Way to go man, that is a fish of a life time You'll be dreaming about that fish in your dreams
  11. $23.00 to launch at 50 PT and you can't get in before 6am, I think $12.00 at Forans
  12. Great report, thanks for sharing. I've been wanting to hit that lake for a long time, maybe next time. I did notice on your plate, the Walleye wishbones. Nothing like fresh Walleye and baked beans, a little green tomato chow on the side.
  13. You lucky dog, reminds me of my dads place down east NB. He didn't have far to travel for his Deer hunt. He got his deer in the back yard. Can't miss the cat Lew, his eyes give him away All you need now Lew is a lake in your front yard to cast for those BIG girl Muskies Got any places for sale near you Lew? If I could only talk the wife into it
  14. I think Simcoe is to small a lake to stock Salmon and could eliminate the Herring. Just getting the Herring back has been a chore. They are great table fare for those who like eating fish, one of the best. Stock more Walleye and Whitefish would be a more natural fish for the lake. Now if we could get a catch limit for Herring would be great or a Herring stocking program.

  16. Great report and nice Largies. Sure is a lot of fun watching them hit on the surface. Thanks for sharing
  17. Way to go Mike, did you put Pops on the fish? you deserve an assist. That is a fish of a lifetime, congrats to DAD.
  18. I'm going to try that recipe, sounds different. Not having rice flour, would regular flour work?
  19. Batter is always wet, some are calling it a batter using dry. Dry is a fish coating, bread crumbs, chips, fish crisp and all. I tell you, some of the perch we get in Erie are like a Smallmouth Bass. Brodie flour is good for a batter, but make it thin using 1/2 milk and water. As for a coating, flour then egg wash then into Panko, been doing that this year and the guys love it, comes out like chinese Torpedo shrimp coating, crispy. So many ways to cook Perch. Nothing better than Perch and eggs for Breakfast, I don't put anything on the Perch no flour except a little salt& pepper, fry in butter, dip in the yolk with toast and a little HP. MMMMMM Good.
  20. Gezz Lew, didn't that happen to you last year also, guy rored by you or something like that. Man stories like this makes me sick, and I suppose poop happens because I have a operators card. That card thing is just a joke. And the cops are another story. I jumped all over the OPP that was checking boats at the Orillia Perch Fest, hundreds of boats fishing in the canal at the narrows and big boats and bass boats rored right through people fishing in little boats with kids and canoes. I said to the cop, those idiots roaring through the channel passed all those small boats should be charged. The cop said Those big boats and Bass boat have the right because the others shouldn't be in the canal. I looked at the cop and blew, my buds said Dave watch what your saying. I said to the cop, so it's ok to run over anyone that I see JAywalking or an old person that didn't make it across fast enough at the light . The OPP left, didn't even ask to see anything, I think he thought he poked the Bear. After awhile latter the OPP boat roared right through. Where did common sense go. Man I'm glad I have a OP. card. Now I'm all worked up, wheres my nerve pills .
  21. Myself and Harvey, Prez.from the GHOC got out with Shane from Fintastic Charters. Shane put us on fish right away. Shane showed us different techniques on how to put fish in the boat. He was busy changing baits and cleaning lines of water fleas. He made me tired just watching him work. I've fished lake O for a lot of years and when you think you know it all, us old dogs can learn some new stuff from the young pups. Thanks Shane for memorable enjoyable morning, I had a good morning bud. Harvey
  22. X2 on the Galv thing, rust can be a pain, especially if you use it in the winter. I bought a Snow Bear trailer, what a piece of crap. I thought lite would be better, was I wrong.
  23. Nice looking boat, I checked them out at the show and the only thing I saw I didn't like was the transom in the well, I pointed it out to the salesman, there was a seam in the corner of the well that looked like it had an open spot that water could get in through a seam, he told me he hadn't had any complaints about water issues. But other than that, I can't say anything. Maybe someone else has some info. Good luck in your venture.
  24. Just a heads up, lots of parks now want you to by a trailer in their park. 10 years or older they don't want you in because your trailer is classed as a hazard. More and more parks now attend park associations meetings,. and chime in on the same set rules. Insurance companies are part of these changes. Almost as bad as the cottage associations on lakes they call their own, put that's another story. I would think twice now buying a trailer. You could end up with a trailer sitting in a storage place that nobody wants.
