I am remember it was '93 or maybe '92 as Terry has mentioned that it rained everyday that summer but 11 days.....

I like the idea........if only on a trial basis and you could always delete it IF problems are created by it. But by having a closed mind on ideas like this only prevent the board from bettering itself. Nothing ventured, nothing gained......... Bob

What do you folks think about this one???
Billy Bob replied to Leecher's topic in General Discussion
LOOKS great, my only concern would be that it would lay on it's side in the water instead of lip down....have you tested that yet..... -
It's a good choice if you didn't want to go the onboard charging system route.........
-
Their are many bass fishermen that have already put their names on a waiting list with Three Rivers Marina to insure getting one ASAP......
-
YES it can but catching them is PRICELESS......

I believe some "lots" of the HDS 7 units left the factory with bad seals and rain water was getting inside the units and completely disabling them. This has now been addressed by Lowrance I see that the new side scan will be available in Nov '09 at the cost of another $599.00 on top of what your HDS unit already set you back.......a man can never have enough toys, can he ......

Believe it not but I have found plastic dips work GREAT and it never chips off. Get something similar to this stuff. http://paint-and-supplies.hardwarestore.co...lebase#features

Now listen here and listen good my Canadian friends........Cabela's Bargain Cave is my Cave......I live in that Cave, I have a virtual cote set up in "My Cave" and all that stuff belongs to me......it's the best housing I could find anywhere. I am a proud Cabela's Club member and credit card holder where I have received hundreds of dollars of FREE (my favorite word) stuff because of the card and being a member.....you should look into obtaining their credit card only if you like free stuff............(again my favorite word)........ Their customer service is UNMATCH by any other I have ever experience......maybe it's because I am such a good customer of theirs.........or maybe not..... We have a BPS 100 miles east of here and I stop in there each time I visited one of my sons........good place and good selections plus good customer service compared to Expensive Mountain we have here that is only about 15 miles away......however, I have been in two different Cabela's stores out west and the BLOW away BPS in EVERY account...... BTW I hardly ever purchase anything at Expensive Mountain because the simply lack customer service and their prices are WAY out of line....... Bob P.S. I feel for you guys when I see how much more you have to pay up their in the Great White North.......all you guys should be pounding the Cabela's Canadian site to expand their selections so it's equal to the US Cabela's internet site........there are a lot of members here that I think could really make a difference. Cabela's does listen to their customer base.......

WOW..........three pages on a simple "how should I charge a Battery"............can't wait until what oil should I use........LOL What part of the "ONBOARD CHARGER" that is specifically designed and manufactured for marine use that we are having trouble understanding ? ? ? Call it the smart charger, onboard charger, intelligent charger or DAH charger over there it's still does the exact same thing to charge and maintain your expensive marine batteries..............
-
Relax and get yourself a Onboard charger that takes care of your marine deep cycle AND starting battery by just plugging the thing in..............I have a starting battery that has been pampered by my onboard charger for over 8 years now and it seems as strong as when new........
-
You do NOT need both.......the onboard charger can/should be used while the boat is docked...just run a extension cord down to the boat...plug in and clean up that mess of fish while enjoying a nice cold Canadian beer....your batteries are being attended while you can do other things than worry about them......(you might need to purchase some 100ft extension cords). Here's some INFO that might be helpful for you..... http://www.insideline.net/1996/puckett-1112-96.html

Trickle chargers are NOT designed to charge deep cycle batteries. They can cause damage to these very expensive deep cycle batteries. His best charger would be a good onboard marine charger.........not to mention from what I have read he has a 24 volt system in his boat........so that would also be a good reason NOT to use a portable trickle charger.
-
Not always true in all cases.........but in most.
-
I have to agree that messing with batteries for someone that has no clue could be DANGEROUS and very expensive........so here's the best advice I can forward to you........get one of these onboard chargers and then you only have to plug it in and you are done. It will charge the batteries and maintain them at all times even through the winter months. Have someone that knows how to install this charger on your boat (not a big job) and all your batteries worries are gone plus it will pay for itself over time because it extends the life of these expensive marine batteries. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...&hasJS=true Bob

Most time I have to concur......

The walleye migration trend for years has been the warmer the weather/water the more the walleyes migrate east and of course the fishing gets much better here usually by July through Sept.......but not this year with this crap weather we continue to have.......... however, the perch fishing has been great........best advice is go with the flow and load up with some LARGE Lake Erie perch......

trolling with 115 Merc Optimax
Billy Bob replied to love2fishhave2work's topic in General Discussion
A small kicker is a big waste of money IMHO.......the motor trolls down as it was designed to do....GREAT, enjoy... My fishing partner has a 115 Yammy on his boat and has trolled for years with it without any issues. I have been trolling for over 20 years with my 50 hp without any issues. A small kicker will cost you about what ? ? ? 2 grand.....you can buy a LOT of gasoline for that kind of money...safety reason ? ? ? don't you already have a cell phone and VHF radio on board....also the extra weight on the transom is not good....where is it parked at night....can the kicker be easily stolen....not to mention even more maintenance needed on something that can go wrong......If you are having no problems trolling now don't fix something that's not broken..... -
That depend on what you are after Art...........if your deer hunting Brut works good for blondes and redheads.....don't know what works on brunettes because I have never hunted for them......
-
Maybe you aren't old enough to remember this but in the 70's the same scientists that are now predicting Global Warming were then predicting Global Cooling........ look it up if you don't believe it........ The weather patterns go in cycles just like rabbits and other earthly things.......I never believed in Global Warming and never will..............why the thermal pools and releases in Yellowstone have more impact on the earth than most.......oh there I go........Sorry.... Bob

I have a 1985 50hp VRO Johnson........don't know if parts are hard to come by or not since I haven't had anything replaced except a water impeller which was just in case reasons....I would buy another one today if I needed it but since it's only 24 years old I am guessing I have at least another 10 years before that decision comes up.......
-
It used to be too much work after the shot but now half of the guys I hunt with have 4 wheeler in the woods and after I shoot I just call on the radio and one will pick up the deer either before we all get together at lunch or when the sun goes down. It don't get no better than that..... When I was a kid I use to go pheasant hunting with my dad. They were everywhere........now they are nowhere....
-
If anyone ever bumps into one of these guys (weather man) please ask him what's the difference between "partly cloudy" and "partly sunny"........to me it's kind of means the same thing but one day they say it's going to partly sunny and the very next day they show partly cloudy....and if there is a difference which is better.

I personally think you will do much better on the reef at the mouth of the river for smallmouth or even in some of the slower drifts down river from the launch. Going up river is a adventure that you should try but fishing up there at this time of the year it not so good as a whole. BTW what "Dams" are you referring to ? ? ? There are no dams on the river.......unless you're speaking of the power plant outlets. If so the one going up river on the "left" is in US waters and again not a area to fish. Go down river for walleye and bass spots.....
