You're the first one to mention the cost of the launch.......
-
I rented a cottage on Stoney in late June and had to launch near Pine Vista resort and only paid $6. The launch wasn't owned by the resort but rather a store owner right by the launch but parking was extra (don't know how much).

ONLY $10 to launch your boat....... I am guessing you get a lunch with this launch...Right.... It nice to hear you found someone to tend to your needs but $10 for to launch your boat IMHO is waterway robbery....

I'm not a denier but rather a conservationist that knows better and doesn't watch FOX......how can you be listed as a young "viewer" if you don't watch TV...... ......maybe it's because between talking on their cell phones, texting, tweeting, face booking and all the other crap they do, they just don't have time for the national news broadcast. BTW it was the coolest summer of MANY years and last January was the COLDEST in 30 years......... -
Right now worm harnesses are working very well with fish on the bottom....but you must concentrate your efforts to where the fish are showing up on your graph. This is were GPS units shine. Bob

I practice a lot at the rifle range and shoot a deer every year. I don't concern myself with scents.

I believe you have got that right........it's because us older more experienced guys have been around enough and have heard all this Bull for so long in MANY different forms.........For all the younger guys that believe all of this....here's an idea.....start with CHINA as they probably are the most polluters on Earth.....after you get them in line then take on MEXICO..... Something I learned from my father many years ago.......you don't kick a man when he's down. -

If it makes you northern brothers feel better we are just starting to get a bear problem here in the Buffalo area but I am sure nothing like up north.....One got hit by a car on the I-190 within the city limits and another had to be shot in Amherst where a LOT of tree huggers live. We really have more of a deer problem in the suburbs of Cheektowaga and Amherst which both border the city of Buffalo......instead of having the bow hunters take care of the problem for free they pay so called sharp shooter police officers OVERTIME to hunt them down at night. GO FIGURE.... BTW a year or two ago one of the "sharp shooters" bullets ended up going thru the second story window in a house in Amherst......caliber .308..........in Erie county we hunters have to use shotguns but the so called sharp shooters can use rifles......again GO FIGURE....

When I use to fish the "Fish Market" on the Niagara River (heavy current) using jigs I found that using a heavier jig and fishing it more vertical resulted in LESS snags and more fish. This gave me the chance to lift the snagged jig from out of the rocks where it was wedged in. How this helps you. Bob

The repair will now last as long as the material stay pliable. And why is this thread stretch out so much ? ? ?

Just as a warning I had Hotmail for several years and one day, GONE.....all gone......I had nothing in any of my mail boxes.....my son told me to go to Gmail and after that I finally listened. MUCH better than Hotmail in EVERY respect, especially SPAM filters not to mention storage size. Bob

I not sure of the fishing spot but I think I know who the duffass is holding the dinky bass.

I haven't fished Lake Nippissing in about 30 years but when we did fish out of Sturgeon Falls all the rentals in that area were 18'ceder strip boats. Anyone know if any are still in service.

Voltmeter for Trolling Motor Battery
Billy Bob replied to Dean Ellison's topic in General Discussion
I got a battery meter from Cabela's that monitors both of my batteries. It reads in percentages and changes every 5 seconds while monitoring each battery. They had it on sale for $14.95 and it came with about $10 worth of wire. Definitely worth having one. -
For MANY years (younger) there was a group of us that all owned full size vans (Fords were the choice) and we had custom made mattresses for them. We would camp at boat launches all over NYS. At night we would take out the coolers, cooking stuff or anything else that was in the way and put it in the boat, cover the boat and bingo we had our DRY hotel on wheels.........we always said it wasn't camping but "resting" in our vehicle, however NOT once did we have a problem with anyone about camping that way. I ALWAYS thought this was the best option because no reservations where ever needed and if the weather went sour we packed up and headed home. Also because you are so mobile you can hit the lakes when the bite is on and keep moving with the bite. So what I am saying you can do exactly what you want for THOUSANDS of dollars less by buying a full size van. Bob

Fixing up a old boat is a great idea but using OLD motors that pollute more then they push the boat is not IMOH

On Lake Derie (lately because of weather) worm harness work best in black/ purple, greens/chartreuse, orange/black.......etc........not to mention Dipsy Diver most times work better than downriggers.... Good Luck, Bob
