Paul, mount it the way you think will be best. However, if you lose readings at high speed readjust the transducer on click forward so the complete surface of the transducer skims the water...problem solved. Now go catch a fish.... Bob

Oh, did you feel the same when Bush was in office and our MILITARY captured Saddam Hussein and brought him to justice....it was our MILITARY on both of these criminals that did the job...not the man in the White House...your bias is not comical.

Donald Duck could of been in the White House and said yes, kill him...it was our military might and that does not change no matter who's in the White House.

Paul, to get HIGH SPEED reading from a transom mounted transducer you should "SLIGHTLY" tilt the transducer forward so the beam is shooting towards the bow....this will insure water flows over the complete transducer. If not you can lose high speed readings because only the forward part of the transducer will skim the water.....I can't believe no instruction manual ever mentions this. Bob

I agree with having a 3 bank charger to include charging and MAINTAINING the starting battery. I no longer remove my batteries from the boat in the winter months. Just plug the charger in and forget about it. Using a smart on-board charger my starting battery lasted 9 years and I only replaced it because of it's age...I didn't want to push it beyond that because I'm fishing Lake Erie a lot during the summer. I believe the charger that Drifter mentioned might be the same as the one I'm using with a different brand name. Here's the one I have on my boat....http://www.cabelas.com/product/Boating/AutoBoat-Batteries-Chargers/On-Board-Chargers-Inverters%7C/pc/104794380/c/104698080/sc/104465880/Cabelas-Advanced-Anglers-ProSport-II-On-Board-Marine-Battery-Chargers/734150.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fboating-auto-boat-batteries-chargers-on-board-chargers-inverters%2F_%2FN-1100565%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104465880%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104794380%253Bcat104698080&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104794380%3Bcat104698080%3Bcat104465880

Some good fishing and nice scenery. It must of been nice to just get back out there....but "Coors Light"....well I guess no one's perfect...

And it would save LOTS of gas when it's in the shop all the time... But Paul wants to go fishing.....so TUNDRA...

That's a REAL PURDY Boat you have there.....you sure you want to put it in that dirty dirty water just to fish... Now you need a nice new Red Tundra to pull that Purdy Boat. Now go catch a fish, Bob

It is if you have property on a lake or river.....flood waters are responsible for more damage than anything else nature can throw at you. -

I am not complaining or have any problems with the way the mods run the board...but I had to point out the meaning of censorship... -
Went crappie fishing Wed and the water level at Chautauqua Lake was incredibly HIGH...so high I was basically launching my boat from the parking lot.....areas that I use to drift for walleyes in 11 FOW was now 16-17 feet deep... Here's a couple of pics of the launch area... Now I heard from my fishing partner that's also a outdoor writer that if we get anymore rain some of the Finger Lakes may be closed to boating....this happened a few years ago on Oneida Lake and I am planning on fishing the walleye opener there next Saturday. So how are the water levels where you guys are.....water still down from last year or maybe now too much water like we have this year. Bob

LOL.....that's what censorship is or at least I thought it was....so I had to look it up just to make sure... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Censorship -
CROWDS EVERYWHERE you want to fish would be my #1 negative.....I go fishing to get away from that now...but years ago when I was 15-20 years younger I did fish many Lake Erie Walleye tournaments with my partner Dennis...we place 5 years in a row in the Southtowns Walleye Tournament....but we put in huge amounts of fishing hours. We slept in our van for 4 nights while fishing out of either Dunkirk Harbor or Barcelona....11-13 hours of straight fishing did produce results so it showed hard work and LUCK goes hand in hand....but it took the joy out of fishing....we would launch way before daylight but still had to wait in line, sometimes as long as 1 hour to get the boat in the water...then at the end of the day it was a ZOO trying to get out of the water, and after all those hours on the water patience were frayed by everyone waiting. Back in the hey days of these tournaments Southtowns Tourny would sign up 2500 anglers...that's a LOT of boats in the traditional hot spots trolling planer boards and downriggers. Fishing room evaporated quickly. Even though I still have all my tournament equipment I RARELY strap that crap on my boat anymore but rather jig or drift worm harnesses well knowing I will catch much less fish this way. But it's a LOT more fun fishing.. The good part of fishing a tournament is if you're serious about trying to win, it pushes you to the max and you learn and catch fish. It's a younger mans game and that's why you see mostly younger pro anglers competing. Good Luck, Bob

Sinker has hit the nail on the head with his numerous above posts on how the crappies behave and time slots for their spawning activity.... Fishermccann, crappies are no threat to your beloved walleyes...but what is a threat is the yellow perch since they invade the shallows in HUGE numbers right after the walleyes spawn....nothing much you can do about them either....and most of them in the Kawarthas aren't big enough to bother with while the crappies make a fantastic fish fry. Treasure having a good crappie fishery this year and when ever you can as their population will fluxuate from year to year....the next few years could be downer years. BTW....Cliff, if the crappie population is good in your lake, then you just hit a bad day of fishing....shallow fish are the most sensitive fish when it comes to cold fronts, etc.... Bob
