NICE catch.....love seeing whitefish caught....I have only caught one myself and just LOVE the taste of smoked whitefish. GREAT fishing report....lots of info to help others get out and fish without pointing out your honey hole....very well done. Now how are you going to enjoy those whitefish ??? Baked, broiled, fried or smoked ??? Bob

SURE...just tape off the extra wire. OR just run a double ground wire.

The reason not to use LARD is it's plain old pig FAT....so mixing it with anything will only kill the taste somewhat while still getting all the bad stuff associated with LARD...if you're going to use LARD...then just use it occasionally and enjoy the special treat.

I have also heard it's next to impossible to gain entry if you have a DWI...which I find interesting....if you're not the driver of the vehicle you are still not allowed entry into Canada all while Canada will except just about anyone else from foreign countries, many that keep no records on many crimes that are much worse...

I agree with you guys about using LARD.....BEST TASTING for deep frying..but not good for the rest of the body.. Remember years ago, going to the county fair and getting those delicious Freedom Fries....and now they just don't taste as good....reason...they no longer use LARD.....if I'm going to do a shore lunch I bring a brick of LARD because it's so much easier to work with then bottles of oil. Just drag the old tinny boat behind the garage and when the wife says something just tell her you had the boat for years but never had a chance to use it because you're always working...LOL....REMEMBER...it's not lie if "YOU" believe it... BTW....even a scrap useless tinny boat is worth some cold cash at the scrap yard...at least here.

PikeHunter, nothing personal here...we are all discussing current events that effect all of us.... As you mentioned the OP had papers but you have to remember some of the terrorist also did....I thinking (not sure) they had papers to "STUDY" here in the USA... NOTE: all the terrorist had passports.... I think I biggest problem now is we were (Americans/Canadians) so use to traveling back and forth all these years over the boarder in basic unrestricted way that we were spoiled. I remember just months before 9/11 I was traveling to Fort Erie Raceway in Ontario (30 minutes from home) and the couple we were traveling with had a NEXUS pass but could not use it because my wife and I were in the back seat.....I made the comment that maybe they should just have a open boarder.....since the free trade act went through and the basic questions of where were you born and where were you going were basically meaningless these days. BOY DID THAT CHANGE QUICK... BTW....how do we really know if Rattletrap2 got the old prostate exam without a doctor present....

Fishing with a leach can be hard and a long expensive day...take my cousin Don...he was the best leach I know....I paid for everything and when he reached into his pocket at the end of the day he only had $5 to give me for truck gas, boat gas, tolls and bait...I no longer fish with the leach....
-
Doc....I see your point...you want what you order and paid for but I believe they are just trying to solve the problem at hand. I have built about a dozen rods years ago...cheap now to purchase a good graphite rod so I quit making them years ago....but back then I always purchased loose corks...never already made handles...this way you would shape them into any thing you desired... I made my own lathe out of a drill placed in a vise which held a pencil that had masking tape on it to fit snuggly into the butt end of the rod blank....then a couple feet away on my work bench I had a cardboard box with a hole in it for the other end of the rod to ride in...BUT MAKE SURE YOU PUT MASKING TAPE ON THE ROD BLANK THAT RIDES ON THE CARDBOARD TO PREVENT BURNING THE ROD FINISH...This work GREAT and only took a few minutes to shape a handle all the way down from loose cork blanks (that were glued together with Elmers) to any custom handle I wanted to make. Good Luck on the rod making venture, Bob

WOW, old thread, but OK.... I don't have a picture because this was before cell phones..Hell it was almost before camera's...LOL But anyways the wierdest thing I ever caught was while I was fishing the Kinzua head waters for late winter walleye casting from shore....hooked into something heavy and with the current almost felt like a world record walleye...turned out to be a deer head someone idiot threw into the river. Snagged it in the ear....

errrrrr....need something more dependable...I'll still with my Tundra...

Sorry but they are no longer referred to as illegal aliens but rather undocumented Democrats....

You guys and my wheel hubs.....LOL.... :rofl2: There will be a demonstration of how this is done at Cliff's come June 24th...and bring some cold CANADIAN BEER for lesson payments...LOL.. Now back to more serious matters....what size outboard should I be looking at...probably a BIG 4 stroker...or maybe a E-Tech ?

Sorry but I really think your WAY off base here....our country was attacked by foreigners on 9/11/01 with THOUSANDS of innocent people killed by terrorist and it's now our duty to protect our country and it's citizens to the fullest extent. So, it takes a bit longer to get in or out of the USA, but at least you or a love one is not blow up. I can't make this any simpler to understand, even though it makes traveling over the bridges just a bit inconvenient for all of us going in both directions. I have had hold ups on the Canadian side as well as the American side of customs and know it's better to wait a few more minutes then have a re-acurrance of 9/11.. PLEASE remember we did not ask for this, but we will NEVER forget it.

Wired my friends electric Cannon downriggers (2) to the starting battery and he never had any battery problems. As Drifter as said, you don't use them as much as you think and the main motor will easily recharge the battery.

Sorry about the boarder interrogations you have had to tolerate recently. I believe that boarder security has been stepped up because of the Bin Dead character we finally killed in Pakistan... You probably fit a profile that they are concerned with and that's just the way it's going to be for a while....Please don't blame us but rather the wacko's that are trying to destroy our country and yours because of how good we have it and how bad they have it. Hopefully someday our boarders will revert back to the old days of just saying I'm Canadian or American and get that friendly smile with OK go ahead...but I don't think that's going to happen in our life time. Good Point....

Arks only come in solid wood......so welded would be difficult...LOL
-
I'm thinking both since this is going to be stinky ship and I'll need options... Black flies will also be on the banned list...
-
After much thought and a lot of rain I have decided it's best to trade in my beloved 1985 Grumman boat motor and trailer for a Ark....don't have any experience with Arks but it seems like the right thing to do...and after I get the Ark I will be collecting the animals...of course some will not be invited.... mosquitoes will not be allowed and it's not looking good for cats either. I guess the round gobies and dreaded zebra mussels wouldn't make the cut either....LOL....any other pest I should leave out...

Wow, I just read a commercial for Line-X....LOL.. Personally I don't have it because my Tundra came with a factory liner...which I like in most cases...I don't have any issues with the liner except things do slide around...and sometimes that's a good thing.. The Line-X product that I have seen on truck beds does seem to be a VERY good product over all...and as already mentioned has potential for MANY other uses...if it wasn't so pricey I would seriously consider having it sprayed on my boat trailer.
