  1. Another vote for Arrowhead PP and if you want to try Algonquin you could stay at Canisbay - really nice spot close to everything the park has to offer.
  2. Hey Victor great report and photos. Sorry to hear you lost your rod but I'd be happy to lose one of mine in exchange for finding the summer Crappie After a while you'll have collected so many rods that none will be your "favourite". BTW, how long can a reel survive in fresh water before becoming a write-off?
  3. Congrats on your purchase. Sweet looking ride that provide you with years of enjoyment.
  4. In the right conditions topwater is my favourite - nothing beats the surface explosion. But since I'm rarely in the ideal conditions I don't use topwater much.
  5. Other than Bob Izumi I really enjoy Fishful Thinking (Charlie Wray) and Urban Outdoor Adventures (Shawn Richard). Got a real eyeful last weekend with the WFN freeview but nothing that I'd want to watch on a regular basis.
  6. Fantastic report and pictures Shawn. This is what it is all about.
  7. Great report and precious family time. Too bad about your leg although it didn't seem to hold you back much.
  8. Nice fish WTG.
  9. I'd be happy with fall temperatures year-round (if the Bass were still feeding up for winter )
  10. Great work spoonman, we didn't find the warmer water and had to settle for 2/2 (Kings) one 10lb and another 15lb. Did better yesterday (4/8 between Rainbow and Kings) when the surface temp was 57. Today we didn't find over 51. Guess that's fishing...
  11. Hey evster, I don't imagine you will have a problem towing a reasonable weight tinny. I towed a Sea-Doo behind my old Jetta for years without problem. Boat and trailer combined at 650lbs. Like most have said, take it easy and give yourself extra stopping distance. One advantage you will have over me is muscling the tinny in/out if you have problems at the ramp.
  12. That's quite a list of defective products... Lucky for me I haven't bought a Sony product for over twenty years. Had a couple of expensive camcorders that spent more time at Sony then in my use. Killed my enthusiasm for video as a hobby and Sony as a consumer goods innovator. Thank goodness for the power of the internet - hard for a manufacturer to peddle crap without everyone knowing about it.
  13. Nice looking fish there PP. We were out this morning out of Bluffers Park and got a couple Kings around 60 down over 110. A few Rainbow as well but then everything shut right down at about 9AM. Hoping to get out again tomorrow. Cheers
  14. What hookset said - but add with "biting fish"
  15. Crappie, walleye, perch and pike in that order. Depending on mood, Fish Crisp original flavour or Cajun.
  16. Looks like a nice outing. WTG.
  17. Will this boat now be available at a discount?
  18. Thanks Zamboni for the charts - very kind of you to share! Now to decide where to go.
  19. Hi bowshep, I also fish/troll from a canoe and use the Eagle Fishmark 320P (around $300 in portable version). Self contained portable that works great for me. I guess if you are intending on adding a trolling motor you could select from a larger variety of FF running off the trolling battery. Personally I have enough to transport without adding a trolling motor and battery. Enjoy your new rig.
  20. Great report 007. You should have good luck getting into Smallies at Silent Lake P.P. I've caught some beauties from my favourite shore spot before I bought my canoe. The canoe will not change where I attempt to find Smallies but will give me a shot at the Lakers that are in this park.
  21. Welcome aboard, I'm ready to learn from your obvious expertise. Cheers,
  22. Looks like the amount of gear I squeeze into my canoe Great report and pictures.
  23. Great report and nice pictures. Whereabouts on Lake O were you fishing?
  24. I certainly wouldn't be eating anything from the lakes that are experiencing the Carp die-off. And now we are hearing that toxin levels in Lake O fish is significantly higher that initially thought. Is any food safe to eat?
  25. Super report Jen, especially the shots of the frying pan! It made me hungry and happy to have taken out some Crappie for my dinner tonight.
