  1. Hey guys I've seen a few shows like fishing canada and facts if fishing pike fishing in Lake Ontario around the toronto islands and a bunch of boat docks, does anyone know a boat launch where I could get easy access to good pike spots along the islands or boat docks. Let me know if like to try tmrw morning
  2. well I'm thinking around $150. Right now For spinning setups I have a avid and premier both medium, fast action. Would that be a good rod for both applications?
  3. Is it possible to get a rod that can be used for drop shotting and also be useful for jigging a jig and minnow? Id like to get one rod action that can perform well while fishing those 2 methods. Or do they need two totally different actions. Thanks!
  4. It's dosent say anything about it being closed in the regs. I'll double check
  5. hey guys, I would like to get out fishing more during the weekdays after work. I looked at the mouth of the credit and it looks like it has some nice area to fish off at night. I was considering going down tomorrow night after the rain to do some casting for steelhead using spoons, kwikfish and mepps. do you think the steelhead would be active enough to chase the bait or even be holding at the mouth at this time? give me some advice. thanks
  6. Lets hope this cold weather continues. Early season!
  7. Nice fish! Ice season is just around the corner hoping to pull some chunks like that out of the hard water soon
  8. those are some amazing looking fish there. Can't go wrong with some chunky walleye and big musky, especially the 56" er. Definatly a fish of a lifetime. Good work and amazing multi species repot!
  9. that is an incredible musky. shes a monster
  10. Gorgeous looking lake. Would love to just walk out to a lake near me and catch spake haha good work
  11. Hello. I have been looking into ice fishing some back lakes in the Huntsville and Algonquin area. Mainly looking for trout species. I have done some looking around on google maps and found some lakes. How do you guys find info on these smaller lakes..like topographic maps, species and condition. I've looked on google for info in 5 different lakes and haven't come across any info on any if them.
  12. Awesome. Always wanted to get out to boq for those big eyes. Caught my first walleye there about 5 year ago. I Must have been 15. Great stuff guys
  13. Haha so true Paulus. I'd like a guide maybe for the credit or a river the same width and challenge
  14. Thanks everyone! Yea I was looking into some guiding services, I found one I like that I may go with. Anyone have any recommendations?
  15. Hello everyone. Today I went to the credit river north of brittania rd for the first time to do some float fishing. I've never fished a river so wide, it was pretty intimidating, I couldn't find any spots that stood out to me to fish. It all looked farly similar and when I did find something it was shallow. I usually fish the east tribs like duffins, bowmanville and the ganny. I do we'll there as I find it easier to locate the steelhead and find holding spots like channels, tailouts and seams. How can I break down the credit to help me locate these steelies.
  16. I love the handlebars buck tails, the patterns are spectacular
  17. so jealous man, those specs are absolutely gorgeous. I would love to do a trip on nipigon. But wouldn't know where to start
  18. I don't think it is. I just started fishing beads a couple weeks ago..every steelie ive hooked has been in the mouth. im going to try some different presentations with this method aswell
  19. I would check out waterfalls lodge and brennan harbor lodge. I have been to both and produced good numbers of fish with good size. the scenery and cabins are gorgeous aswell. if you want to drive 9 hours I would say go to richies end of the trail lodge for a great experience. its a nice drive and the walleye fishing is fantastic.
  20. like others were saying the reel isn't the most important aspect of the setup. I was using a rapala r-type for a while and I had no problem landing kings and steelhead. you could always put new bearings in that reel if your not satisfied. yesterday I got a nice surprise for my birthday...a islander steelheader. cant wait to use it!
  21. Okay thanks! I was casting shad raps and DTs but didn't get lucky to pass a school
  22. That's a good little tip. Thanks singingdog. so basically they can be anywhere at this time of year? What lures or baits do you guys use when trying to locate them and when you know there in the area
  23. Okay thanks for the help guys.ill do my best, I won't have my electronics until next season so ill make do with your tips!
