Was fishing the river today and had an issue with knots breaking. I'm using froghair 6lb floro for float fishing. Smaller diameter than other 6lb in the market. I generally use a Davy knot and it holds up well but today I snapped 3 fish off at the hook or swivel and not horsing them much. What are some knots you guys use with good strength. Thanks

As the fall season has just begun and the snow around the corner I'm starting to look for a sled. I will need it for ice fishing and hold me and another adult while pulling a clam hut. I've done reaserch and it seems the top machines are the tundra and skaldic, that being said I haven't found any online. What are other options I could look into? I found a Polaris touring and there's tons of Polaris Indys online. What model Indy would do the job or even the mxz? The max I would like to spend is $2000. Thanks

I used to catch lots of suckers and bluegill there when I was younger. Also some decent smallmouth around

Cast # 578...help me hook up a muskie before #1000
shimano19 replied to scuro2's topic in General Discussion
Anytime is good muskie time just get out on the water, I have caught muskies in storms this year and also mid day blue bird and flat calm. Yes, some muskies were right on the majors of moon phases, and yes some were first and last light but if I had not been fish I wouldn't have caught those fish we got between what's considered the time that "fish don't bite" Last weekend I went out muskie fishing for the day with my boat partner. It was great conditions all morning, we saw multiple fish but none would eat under "prime condition" it got hot and sunny and we boated our first fish at 11:45am. We went in to eat, relaxed and came back out. Same conditions unbearable heat and calm, within 20 minutes we boated a 46" fished until sundown and didn't even have a follow, stick with it on the non favorable times, it will pay off -
Awesome thanks I'll try

Couldn't be the anchor line. We pulled it up and sonar screens remained the same
-
I only fished it a couple hours, could barley tell what fish were and couldn't see my bait so was kind of pointless, fished bass after did pretty good
-
My line was perfectly vertical, anchored perfect. I'm just curious why my sonar had so much clutter and horizontal lines trough it. I tried noise reduction. Sensitivity and surface clarity
-
Went to kempenfelt bay Sunday to jig for lakers and it was gorgeous out. Anchored in 105 fow it was perfect and not many boats out. Dropped our baits and they were very hard to read on the sonars, I tried changing setting and nothing worked. Very faint lines and lots of random streaks and clutter, I have a gen 1 hds 5 and an elite 5 dsi. The dsi does not have a sensitivity setting eaither, just surface clarity. Anyone know what I can try?

Fabulous North Caribou Lake - Maybe The Best Fly In Trip Ever!

Awesome read mike. Good work hunting down those big gators. Thanks again for sharing, you truley have the life! -
That looks like an awesome time
-
And again, keep those hooks sharp!!
-
I prefer to keep the drag locked, you don't want any of that pulling when you set the hook on a muskie 50-70ft out. If the fish starts going crazy boat side I freespool and use my thumb just to give her a bit of give.
-
What do you take on a fly in, that's well, different?

Headhunter I leave on Thursday to pickle lake. It is also one of white river airs outposts! -
How far you do you guys go from belle river
-
Okay I'll give it a shot, I'm looking for it to stay around 6000rpm and get somewhat the same speed
-
With the 12p will my holeshot be slower than the 11p?
-
Also those results were with 3 people in the boat. If I have 2 people in the boat would it affect my rpms? I would have a greater top speed but would my rpms raise or lower?
-
Thanks SPOOLED, I think I'm going to go with the 12 seems like the best bet. Thanks john I appreciate the help. And drifter I've been looking into the 4 blade and I think I'll stick with the 3 I actually wouldn't mind trying one before I picked that up
-
Why do you say that spooled?
-
I'm thinking about doing that, I wonder if I'll get the same speeds with the 12. With the 11 if I adjust the tilt to sit level I can have it at WOT and just below 6000rpm. As I raise the tilt I will gain more rpm so I'd have to let off the throttle

Went out today got 8 between the two of us. Most fish caught in the early morning then one here or there throught the day

And there was my sign,,,Back in action,,,,,,, fishing related
