  1. Seasons Pass. My brother and I asked a neigbouring farmer if we could fish a trib. hole on his property 25 years ago. The old character told us since we were the only ones who has ever actually asked for permission we just got a "seasons pass for life!" Well the old gummer is actually still alive and still on his home farm. I caught a nice bow fishing with my son in Seasons Pass this spring.
  2. My boss doesn't feel my pain.
  3. Would I be ok towing this behind my mini-van? Or am I going to need a brake controller and transmission cooler?

    Carp!

Nice! The sheer weight of it caused your dock to cave in as well.
  5. Got one last night. Three of us on the boat, zippo.
  6. Beauty night out on L. Huron last night. Couldn't buy a bite though, harvest moon or not. No one else we talked to on the way in had any luck either.
  7. Talk about living the dream......
  8. Cheers! If you are taking Barb's chair, it shouldn't be too hard to kick it up a notch....
  9. Made me think of many cherished days with past four legged friends. Cheers to the memories.
  10. Town councilman, Goderich, John Grace owns a fishing lodge in northern Ontario. One could only hope that he of all people would understand the economic value of the sport fishery to the town. I suppose he would be the best person to approach for lobbying to maintain access for fishing, God knows the town needs to maintain or boost anything that can generate value it's poor current economy.
  11. Alot of the buck n'does in my area are held on private property, acerages and farms. Closest to the pin golf game for 50/50 is always a great time. Toonie a shot till dark, is good for non stop entertainment. When my wife and I got married we had the pre- party on our farm. My brother and best man hosted a 50/50 bass tournament on my pond. Fishn and golfin theme. Good times, people still talk about it and laugh 20 years later!
  12. Get em to cut and stack a few cords of wood. They will sleep like babies that night, and you won't see them for the rest of the week.
  13. Great thread! One that come to mind vividly: My wife an I were snowmobiling back into Cochrane from Quebec late one season in April. It is about a 100 mile stretch and we had not seen one other sled on the trail the whole way. About 15 miles before Cochrane we came across three lynx on the trail, moma and two cubs that were nearly as tall as her. As we slowed and aproached, mom went left and sat in the pines only about 3 yards off the trail, the cubs broke off trail to the right. My wife pulled up behind me and started to fumble around trying to get the camera out. As I looked back to see what was taking her so long, she started pointing ahead of me and could only articulate a "woo .... wooo", her eyes went as big as saucers. I turned and looked ahead to see that the two cubs had come back onto the trail and were calmly sniffing around the front bumper of my sled! ( an Arctic Cat of course). After what seemed like a long time but was probably only 30 seconds, with two very large wild cats at an arms length, moma let out a long low growl and the two cubs imediatley obeyed and skipped off into the bush and quickley disappeared into the pines with moma. It took us a while before we picked our jaws up out of the snow and even began to speak about the amazing encounter we just expirienced!
  14. Nice fish! Amazing to think that an 18lb'er has been leading the Chantry Classic all week over here on the ON west coast.
  15. So funny, the CR bag was the first thing I thought of. My father gave me his childhood marble collection in a CR bag 40 years ago. I have found many uses for them over the years.
  16. Extang also stands behind their product. A good company to deal with, although very few problems with this cover.
  17. Extang Solid Fold is a very nice solid panel folding cover.
  18. What he said.
  19. Almost make a 300 lb man cry....
  20. Yer gonna need a bigger boat...... .......and lure, for the next one!
  21. The incident has left Rick both shocked and stunned. She said she hasn’t even seen a deer in the area for years hmmmm...?
  22. Sorry, had trouble taking off phone cam. Poor Larry has better pics on his camera.
  23. My son caught his biggest fish ever Saturday afternoon on Colpoys Bay. He picked the rod out of the holder and told my buddy (who is a less experienced fisherman than my son) that he had a good sized fish on. My buddy said "No you don't." Twice. MY son being an equitable fisherman was going to give Larry the rod, but after Larry told him twice that he didn't have a fish on, he decided to bring it to net by himself . The look on Larry's face when the fish broke water 50' behind the boat said it all. The boy was quite proud to show his fish off back at the Wiarton harbor.
  24. We take precautions seriously when heading out on Lake Huron. I'm still nervous when my 9yo son is along. Good to read though, and good on the happy ending.

    Garbage

This is the bull stuff that can bring me to tears or possibly a simulated bear attack if'n I was to happen along at the wrong time for someone.
