  1. I too was on sturgeon but wasn't able to find any eyes... Did manage some feisty muskies n' a huge SMB as well, all released of course... was fishing the north west part of the lake and at one point there were 10 boats surrounding one of the buoys fishing a weed edge, but didn't see anyone land anything. the bite was completely different for me from sunday to monday as well.... on monday, wind picked up and everything just seemed to shut off.
  2. that's insane!! I believe there's a similar video out there with a marlin or sail fish of some sort... needless to say, that guy wasn't so lucky...
  3. Before anyone starts pointing their fingers at asians because it's an "asian" supermarket... That sign is from T&T.... Owned and operated by loblaws... Ie: Galen Weston
  4. so it's ok for Canadians to hunt? pretty sure it's dominated by NON "ethnic" groups. lets deport them Anybody else feel this thread is going racial? pointing the finger at so called ethnic groups... why even butter it up anymore. if only Canadians were perfect, we'd never have any crime in canada.
  5. white all the way for pike what colour do you use for wallies? I'll be on canal if any of you are goin out this weekend
  6. I've learnt more reading this thread than i have watchin wfn... it's awesome reading what works around here. Now you got me pumped to use some SBs this weekend for pike.... not so sure if i've seen too many wallies hit on SBs though
  7. sounds tastey!!! now if only i could find those 2 walleyes..
  8. I gotta say I've never met an a@@hole CO. aside from the usual licence, booze, life jacket, catch limit checks... most are willing to share a few stories with you and even local hot spots. If you just ask them... they have the best local fishing reports! they're not as "secretive" as other anglers about what's biting and where.
  9. it possible that these are the fish that never survived the winters and are just now getting blown up to shore? i would think it'd be a bigger issue if we saw dead raccoons, birds etc. (whatever else eat these fish)
  10. soooo.... did you catch anything?
  11. Anyone ever use a Heavy Duty truck battery instead of a DC battery for their trolling motor? I had bought a used trolling motor and he threw in a refurbed Heavy Duty, Group 31D, 12 volt (925 CCA, 160 minutes reserve capacity) battery made by Exide. He told me he's been using it all along and works just like a DC battery. Any thoughts?
  12. so if you had to pick one between the walmart and the costco deep cycle batteries... which is better? I need one for a 44 lb MK
  13. +1 on the BPS Pro Qualifier... it was my first baitcaster too and a very good quality all around reel from cranking to pitching. for less than $100... good starter baitcaster before expanding your arsenal with more expensive tactic/ratio specific reels. seen too many try and fail to adapt to baitcasters.
  14. i am SO jealous... you don't even understand...
  15. If you can catch pike on the hardwater......
  16. Both nice reels indeed but not everyone that make the transition to baitcasters stay with baitcasters... some just can't get used to it so just something you may want to consider before investing in a $200 reel... as far as the extra ounce.. imo lighter is better, especially if you're crankin all day. you may also want to consider the winch over the sx if you like the curado, i have a BNIB 50e.
  17. this calls for a round of shots
  18. No harm no foul. Made for an interesting discussion if you ask me!
  19. perfect timing.... i need one!!! thanks for the heads up
  20. I know.. not related to fishing... but I thought I'd post this picture to see what people think. My friends were in the car and thought it would be cool I was only doing 210 for a minute so there's no harm or foul We all speed so it's ok I know I'm a new to this forum but the irony of this thread and calling someone out.... fyi, I found this pic but you get the idea
  21. who even knows anymore with the flux in temperatures so far this year... prepare for the worst n' hope for the best
  22. anybody know what weight is recommended for a 14 ft fishing boat?
