  1. ...now there's a reason to protest! Unfortunately the clowns I saw interviewed talked nothing of these things...it was more about "I want to have what the 1% have"...and I want the government to give it to me because I'm too busy sleeping in this park hanging out with my friends for a few days
  2. haha I'm glad my memory is bad. Although I've heard all those before I got to enjoy them again!
  3. I'm at Pigeon next week for 2 days so here's hoping water gets clear and the fish turn on!
  4. ...bingo. That's why I started this thread in the first place. After watching a few people get interviewed I realized I was watching a bunch of lazy people who would rather complain and protest than go out there and work for it. Couldn't even coherently describe their cause or goals. I'm not saying that's true for all the protesters, just the one's they interviewed! If you go out there and work your hardest, making yourself irreplaceable, you will be rewarded. Show up early, stay late, don't complain and keep your nose clean - at a minimum you will lead a comfortable life (financially). The problem is, most people nowadays see how good the previous generation had it and they want it immediately. They never saw the hard work that generation put in to get where they are. They want the lifestyle now, instead of putting in your time, working your way up, getting rewarded, and most importantly, being thankful for what you have, rather than worrying what the other guy's got
  5. I'm confused by these protests. People complaining about inequality etc. If they spent these days working rather than loitering, smoking, hanging out in parks etc wouldn't they have more money, and then there would be less inequality because they earned more?
  6. I've caught a couple on topwater baits, but they were all released, thought of eating it never entered my mind
  7. those are some gorgeous fish!
  8. but if it is, its a series they might actually win. Unfortunately for Leafs fans there is no playoff series for the 26th team vs the 29th team. No playoffs for either Leafs or Sens would be my guess, but if anyone sneaks in at 8 I'd guess the Leafs have a better shot

Man what a fish, congratulations. Lew as I was reading that I'm thinking "What the heck is he talking about" Then I scrolled down, saw the picture, and spit coke all over the screen. Classic
  10. at least you should have no problems finding some deer for your ark. All I can claim is some giant worms on the driveway this morning
  11. bump...feel better manitoubass? BTW, I suggest you don't respond
  12. Never caught or even seen a trout in person, I think I heard something about a fish being 45 inches...is that true? Had no idea trout got that long
  13. haha don't give up yet rod caster, I'm truly hoping he makes me eat these words, its still early.
  14. right now I'd take Dorf on Leafs over Connolly
  15. refers to a debate we had a few months back when the Leafs signed him. Some of us felt he was too injury prone, others felt he had an unfair label as fragile
  16. ...but I told you so :stretcher:
  17. Terry, all I know is Barbie didn't get stuck in slush that day... :whistling:
  18. hey, if I knew how to update it I would. Now that picture is alsmost like an antique. That was a LONG time ago a bunch of us got together on Cooks Bay and I borrowed my neighbour's daughter's barbie sled (is it still considered borrowing if they don't know or consent?)
  19. you're on! The first time I got out this past winter I did the 1 km walk because thats where all the huts were. Somebody told me try much closer to shore, forget the walk to the shantytown, and guess what, it worked! Because its a short walk I'm gonna fish in style. Got the hut, bought a Coleman this summer, gonna whip up some bacon/eggs and coffee while you drill the holes (don't worry, got the gas auger too). Only thing I don't have is a proper toboggan - see my avatar shot taken at the Simcoe GTG 7 or 8 years ago.
  20. you think that's bad, I had a samsquatch do the same thing to me - flying dropkick, one hairy foot to the face (thank goodness he used his foot)
  21. that fish is ridiculous!
  22. I'm thinking the bike will be a nuisance on most days...having said that, I have nothing better to offer. I walk, but no more than 1 km each way. Last winter I found some perch spots close to shore that produced well so this year it won't even be a 1 km walk
  23. wow I never would have considered doing such a thing. The leftover mixed fuel I have from the summer is being used to start bonfires in the back yard! Maybe I should toss a few litres in the truck...although that would make my next fire less spectacular
  24. Perfect...finally someone who knows what I'm going through. Because its my first gps, I'm trying to figure out if its "user" error (ie is there a way to fine tune the unit that I'm missing). Sounds like I do have it hooked up right and its a "you get what you pay for" scenario. Don't get me wrong, playing with it in my garage I love it, just don't know if it should be more detailed than what I'm getting out of it. Pete, try out the L Ontario setting and let me know if that made things better for you
  25. maybe because you have the DSI you get the 1 foot contours? When I zoom right in I see basically no contours (maybe 1?)on the screen.
