  1. This actually might help me with a question I've had, I am going to go to frenchman's bay in a couple of weeks and one of the many species I would like to try and catch is sheephead and one of the best baits I've heard of is shellfish coloured tubes, since the area also has smallmouth and tubes are a favourite for smallies should I use it anyways? If I can't what other baits do they like?
  2. Nice fish there, even if you didn't win you can be proud to catch those fish, I have my first toury this july im getting in it pretty late in the season i know but i dont have the funds to go for the big events yet so i had to wait for a lower priced event to come up.
  3. not sure how they are in the great lakes but I say that the best way is just cut off the heads, then fry them in butter the bones are actually pretty nice and crispy, good to have for a breakfast.
  4. someday all of our favourite spots are going to be covered by these condos, really is horrible when they disappear.
  5. I was down there saturday and today, they weren't biting for anyone at fishmasters so we headed upstream to some shallower water where the water was warmer, on saturday I had one nice cat on that broke off just as I was pulling it to shore and today I managed 1 carp, once the weather heats up they should be more active. Nice ones there and that one is a HOG!
  6. Thanks to most of you.... I'll stick with one line from now on, and for the record I have looked at the regulations many times and just have not seen it.
  7. Woohoo I just got my first ever carp! 24 inches!
  8. Very nice fish there, even more so for a creek! Congrats!
  9. Does somebody have a link to these regs or maybe some info? I know that these change from each body of water and wether your shore fishing or in a boat. I would really like to know about number of rod limits for dunville.
  10. I am thinking of going down to dunville tomorrow for some cats and I remember that there was a topic outlining some shore fishing access points can someone direct me to that topic please?
  11. Just checked my backyard (they grow like weeds back there) and nothing yet, give it a couple of weeks.
  12. Great pics, why isn't jack on this forum yet, he seems to know what he's doing?!
  13. There used to be a small gas chain around richmond hill, it was called olco it always had prices at about 5-10 cents cheaper and it was full serve! But only the locals knew about it so all of the people from the hwy 7 and hwy 407 right down the street just went to the shell, people won't go to the local stores if they don't know that they exist, the idea would work it would just be hard for people to find the stations sometimes. Also if we all buy from the small stores then they have a major boost in revenue and maybe they expand their station, you know put in a few more pumps, if when the major companies lower their prices and we leave the smaller ones then they can't afford those changes they just made and suddenly they go under. BUT I still think that if we didn't all just flock back to the big brands and maybe put in the extra time to find little stations this plan could WORK!
  14. I heard about that this morning, have the japanese said anything about it?
  15. Are they in the shallows yet?
  16. Good on them for saving that fish, I don't know if you guys noticed but that sheep head was still moving, kinda creepy.
  17. Looks like Canada is going to have to buy us all helicopters to get to the centre of that lake!
  18. I think thats one of the biggest eyes I've ever seen!
  19. You can't be that disappointed with carp and white bass on every cast! Even more so for when pike season rolls in!
  20. If she's serious about fishing don't go for a push button, a bait caster or fly reel might be a better option.
