  1. I had to put teflon sliders on my bunks as where I launch, I couldnt get deep enough to float the boat off without submerging the back of the vehicle. I personally unhook everything about a foot from the waters edge and then back up quickly, hit the brakes and the boat slides off nicely. Gentle slops to ramp though.
  2. If its in the budget, get the ipilot... Wicked awesome!!!
  3. I have an 80lb Terrova on an 18ft that's all I use when trolling.
  4. Whatever his reasons were, it takes dedication to achieve what he did.... bottom line. I want to follow in his footsteps! Good on ya Dave!!!!
  5. Caught a fish that broke off. 5 minutes later caught a pike with my lure in its mouth
  6. I own a business that rents out stag and doe games. Whether you book with us or not, our website has some great tips for how to run games. Any questions let me know. www.jackofallspades.ca
  7. Been a member for a long time, but I guess I never really let people know who I am. My name is Dan. I live in Grimsby with my beautiful wife and 3 boys aged 5, 3 and 10 months. I just bought my first big boat, a Smokercraft Promag. We have a trailer near Dunnville, so I am learning lake Erie. This board has been amazing for information and cool stuff.... love it!
  8. That is one of the things I love ( and hate) about fishing...fish are there one day and gone the next. What a rush when you find a new pattern though. Cool report dude.
  9. Where do they go throughout the year. A few weeks ago, there were clouds of them on my finder in 25 feet, now no big schools. Is fall fishing good for them? What depth? Thanks
  10. If you mean the south comment, I lived there for 5 years and the area I lived in was VERY racially sensitive. No irony there, a fact that I witnessed first hand.
  11. I dont understand why so many posts these days mention race. Is this the south?!!!! We live in a multicultular society...... get used to it
  12. Depending on where you are the bite is slowing down. I fish Erie and the days of them schooling up is done until next year.
  13. Thanks. Got out this morning and got around 30 in a couple of hours. Setting the hook at the very first bump made a huge difference today. As for anchoring, I use the spot lock on my Terrova...AWESOME feature!
  14. Hi there, just looking for some advice on the Lake Erie perch bite. My son and I are really enjoying the perch fishing, but we are missing A LOT. Hoping someone can describe technique. I think we are waiting too long for them to "take it" or not feeling it at all.
  15. Lowbanks. A guy in Dunnville has some, but is charging $5 a dozen!!! If you could help that would be awesome!
  16. Does anyone know if one of the power packs from CT would work? Not sure by reading it if it would have enough juice to charge the batteries. At least I could easily take that back to the trailer to re-charge. Unfortuneatelu burrying the cord is not an option.... parked in a paved lot at the trailer in the boat yard.
  17. Hi there, hoping someone can help me with a suggestion. On my boat, I have a 24 volt setup for my Terrova with a charger on board. The trailer park I am at says I can no longer run an extension cord in the boat yard to charge my batteries as it is a trip hazard. I definitely dont want to lug the batteries in and out each time. Thought about hooking into starting battery and letting the main motor charge them, but I really dont run the main very much. Will a portable power pack be enough to do the job (I dont understand all the amp hour, watt stuff). Any info suggestions appreciated.
  18. Sorry, checked the regs on that, definitely a no no.
  19. I know this may annoy some, but if Im on a school and catch one, can I use pieces of it to catch more? I have had them snub gulp minnows before
  20. Hey, up at the trailer and nobody has minnows. My son really wants to catch some perch... any good alternatives?
  21. Tell the dealer what you want. Talk to several. I drove 300km to pick mine up, but in my opinion, they treated me the best. There is wiggle room on price...trust me.
