Stop the netting and you watch the fishery bound back.. Course that won't happen LOAD OF well you get the idea! No reason for netting on this lake! -

I asked Lund about my warranty and Jack Plates
RangerGuy replied to RangerGuy's topic in General Discussion
Yeh the stress points is what concerns, I will probably not add one but it should would make getting in shallow alot easier LOL! I should ask my dealer if they've ever installed one on a Lund. -

My boat is a tiller, I guess it's a CYA statement. The owners manually doesn't specifically say a jack plate will void the warranty. -

That sounds about right.. but.. Couldnt' they say your outboard caused the transom to warp or break OR your transducer was installed incorrectly and caused your transom to rot and get out of any warranty work anyways? -

Great post, that is some pretty cool scenery and game 4-6" minnows wow!.. I'm buying the wrong size minnows HAHA! -
I'm seriously concidering putting the smallest powered jackplate I can find on my alaskan, so I can raise the motor when idling into my hunting marsh. Smallest set back I can find so far is a 3 7/8" set back. I'm not looking for performance imrpovements but just trying to minimize the amount of weeds I have blocking my water intake when idling into my hunting spots. Lunds reply was this: "If any after market part causes a covered component to fail, then that covered component would not be covered." I take this as if it's installed incorrectly and damages the transom it will void the warranty, same as any outboard or transom transducer for that matter. What do you think they mean?

Ready for Deer Hunting now... Can't Wait!!! - NF
RangerGuy replied to Leecher's topic in General Discussion
Hi Terry, It's not the same.. When fishing your not conditioning the fish to come to the same spot for food then netting them. Baiting is conditioning your game to come to the exact same place everyday for food. If you wait long enough they will show. Just to clarify. -

Hi Lew, Yup my garmin covers the entire west arm both sides of the bridge because they are direct copies of the government charts .. When I bought my gps I believe BlueChart was the only manufacture licenced to reproduce the government charts. Looks like I'll stick with Garmin, to bad because I'd really like to take advantage of the mapping and structure marking features of my Hummingbird 798HD. OR..i can double up on the charts ... Ron, I wonder if the others are as accurate.. mine is 6-7 years old I believe and can get 5' accuracy in heavy cloud cover. I have noticed my internal battery must be going because alot of times now it needs to relocate itself which is a pain... but Your right it's an awesome unit! Thanks everybody for the input.

I've been thinking of buying charts for my 798hd.. I have a garmin 276C with all the ontario charts back in the day I went with these charts because they were a copy of all available paper charts from the governement. ALSO they were the only charts that covered nip.. for a long time. I'm wondering if the coverage is any better with Navionics now and how accurate they are compared to the governement paper charts? Anybody with experience with the navionic charts I'd love to hear what you think

My god! that was an amazing trip!!! This is now on my bucket list! HAHA! -
Be very careful when treating outer wear that has gortex.. alot of the these kinds of treatments seal the pores of the fabric. While this improves weather proofness it also prevents the gortex from doing what it was designed to do , breath moisture created by your body so it can excape and keep you dry. I never treated my remingtion waterfowl parka or bibs and they were waterproof for over 10 years. What ultimately caused my to leak was carrying heavy decoy bags on my shoulders stretched the gortex membrane and eventually it leaked. I wish remington never stopped making thier waterfowl clothes, they were awesome! I would be soaked with sweat walking in carrying gear, and in 2 hours I was dry on the inside even if it was raining out, I was always amazed how it worked.

So billy bob, you need to bring treats to get her retrieve LOL! That might be better than my situation... Mine won't quite , if she doesn't work she won't eat. She runs as hard on blinds as she does retrieves... I alway thought training a dog that will break on a blind would be fun... well I'm not so sure of that now HAHA! -

I think I may need a different mounting method, I better fully assemble this thing before I decide on how I'm gonna mount it.. I looks like it's going to be way to high. -
