  1. Thanks for the feedback guys, BB - that is exactly what I was hoping for, thanks for the detailed response. Craig - thanks - I think I will buy it, good to have Looking forward to the trip and will post when we return.
  2. Renting a houseboat on the trent severn Mid August for a week and I am looking for some "must sees" along the way. Leaving from Bobcaygon and working on our route for the week, no direction decided as of yet. There will be lots of fishing along the way but I am looking for other things to do and see to maximize the experience for the kids. Thanks in advance
  3. If that was the case every fish would be swimming this way in the Detroit river, you can't see 6" down most days.
  4. I can see both points of view, I will miss the small towns when they are gone (and they will be) When we drove up in the winter this year we missed it completely, all of a sudden we were in North Bay. I feel for the people of those small towns, but I must admit that when I head north every year I go through Michigan (from Windsor) because it shaves off so much time compared to the Canadian route. Most of us only have a very limited time in the north every year and want to spend as little amount of that time as possible on the road getting there. I always enjoy a good greasy spoon, gives you something to talk about for the next part of your journey.
  5. My son is 10 now, my birthday just passed and my wife asked what I wanted for my birthday. I kept him home from school and we spend the day on the water. Building memories.
  6. I am sure he has heard it a million times "I'll be back" You should have left a deposit, there is not much he can do for you now, he has presented you with options, you need to choose.
  7. I have a Master Forge, propane, $150 at Lowes Pros Propane - controlled heat, no wild swings in temperature over long periods of time Huge - lots of room inside, I have yet to need more room Cheap - need I say more? Venting - venting on it is great to control the heat Cons As you will read about, the door needs a gasket, easy enough to do but I have not got to it yet Water pan is too big - it blocks too much heat, in the winter I have to use a smaller water pan to get the heat up I have smoked ribs, chickens, roasts, a turkey, cheese..... I love everything in the smoker, it's fun to experiment. I wanna smoke something now Check it our here http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/products/master-forge-double-door-smoker/reviews
  8. Wow, I would have had both of them pegged in their 60s for sure. Tough life in the swamp.....
  9. Just for the record, Cable can only provide an image in 720 definition, not 1080. They do not have the infrastucture in place to broadcast in 1080. If you are shopping there is no sense paying the extra for 1080 over 720.
  10. Curb Weight is the total weight of the vehicle, no passengers or cargo.
  11. Ding Ding Ding!!!! We have a winner! I used to push my luck pulling my travel trailer with a Explorer Sport Trac. Wow life sure is better with the Expedition, until I get to the gas pump that is.
  12. I'd say 25, 5'7, 125 lbs, 36-24-36, redhead
  13. Wow, I always thought and heard it was much stronger than that. Sure feels and looks stronger than that.
  14. Don't overthink it, just swing by for a beer and check him out. Then think about what you are going to buy with the $700.
  15. True story I find it interesting that the US economy suffers along with ours and both our govenments are focused on fixing the US economy and no one is fucused on Canada. How can allowing Canadians to spend more money in a foreign country tax free help the Canadian economy in any way?
  16. this is interesting, I think you may be onto something. The place I used to get my license from before doing it online would ONLY take cash, a tackle shop, you are buying stuff and a license, had to be 2 transactions and now they no longer sell licenses........ I know you re hearing this from me so it is hearsay but...
  17. Be sure to have some floro on that braid as Mike suggests, if you are new to Jugging hte river you will snag up a few times and have to snap it off. Have fun!
  18. You have the best two options listed above, Lasalle and the city marina in the east. stay away from the launch near the bridge, I think the last time it was maintained was in the 50s.
