  1. check out www.tackleunderground.com i'm also a member there and a handpourer aswell, it's relatively easy but time consuming... it''s quite the addiction
  2. Wish i had that problem around here, sadly water is too low, tribs are closed and it's a 2hr drive to the nearest spot that's open and a whole new learning curve on that trib and not even knowing where to start makes it more fun... dying to break in my new float reel, but may be into Jan before that happens if the tribs state side ever start flowing.... love the amounts of fish and only seeing a person or 2 all day long!!
  3. YES, i don't think i can recall a player who had the speed, power, skill, toughness and soft hands like the Big E did... i personally enjoyed watching Lindros more than Gretzky and Lemiuex, and almost as much as the Moose seems most of the people saying no are using his off ice antics as a reason... well alot of NHL players do horrible things off ice that look bad on themselves and the league, based solely on his accomplishments he should be in the HHOF imo
  4. well it's time to take the summer tires of and put the winters on now... if only we could convince people that you need to clean the snow off your brake lights, headlights and your all your windows that means the whole window (not just where the windshield wipers travel through), then we'd really be better off...
  5. i got bolle cranebakes in polarized prescriptions, had the choice of coloured lenses aswell, all for $190. from wal-mart (frame, lense, polarization and tinting)... love 'em.... oh and they're not clip-ons
  6. we flew up there in '97ish... top notch service and awesome, unbelievable fishing, big numbers and big fish... our best day was when we portaged off teh main lake into a little one they had just opened (we were the 2nd guests to fish it). If you can afford it, it's well worth it... i'm sure things have changed since then, but can't see it changing too much... oh and the ribs (if it's still the same owners---- the own Michelbob's down in florida) too die for... of course all the meals were good... One day i'll go back, it was my last real fishing trip with my grandfather (just the 2 of us went) before he passed away and i think i'd spread a few of his ashes there as we had the best time there!!
  7. Geezus... all our drifts are bone dry, and we're dying to get out and play with the pin, that post was totally uncalled for!!!.... So jealous and envious!!! lol
  8. i used 3.5mm last year, kept me warm and toasty.... except for the feet, but 2 pairs of wool socks took care of that!!... the 5mm are warm, but they're hard to move in i'm told (i spend time climbing hills in my waders and NO WAY could i do 5mm, hard enough to move in the 3.5mm!! Also got mine from Cabelas as i needed a "bigger" size with short legs lol
  9. that's a prime example of what i'm saying, taht pic is so dark and moody, it's perfect!!... you can almost feel the story the pic is trying to tell!!
  10. That's totally upto you.. and i will admit... when a dark moody feel is needed, you can't go wrong with HDR... but with brightish pics i just can't feel it lol
  11. i am a little stubborn with my workflow.... view, delete and then edit... if the pic isn't of good quality (each pic is 10MB- yes i said MEGABYTE) it gets tossed as i'm usually just not happy with it and no amount of reviewing will allow me to enjoy it.... got a 250GB HD that's filling up quickly
  12. while in taht case i won't deny the HDR image is nicer, i still think it looks a bit like an old postcard... as i said, it's all about ones perception... like the clouds moving in and dark shading I remember a chat we had on MSN where you didn't like to do any PP cause it wasn't exactly as you saw... it's totally upto you, just not my cup of tea... but yep, i do enjoy the images!!
  13. here you are my friend: Giottos rocket blower do your best to get it off with the rocket blower, try to avoid having to use any solution on the sensor (and really really avoid the mirror), that's what most on www.dpreview.com use... you can buy the rocket blower for $10. by itself from Henry's (if you've got one) but better off with the kit imo... i would avoind peroxide, maybe rubbing alcohol, but again i'd just pay the $20 for the rocket blower kit as it comes with the solution and most times youcan blow the dust of with the rocket blower...
  14. I only shoot RAW, 10mb file size, but greater control when PP as the camera leaves it well alone and my camera isn't known for "good" out of camera jpg ayways... think it'll help out some folks here, but i too am curious (maybe nervous) about installing 3rd party firmware- wonder what it would do for the warranty?
  15. sadly we don't have any pets any more... but here is one of my in-laws dog as posted in another thread... Deano yuo're a cheater, them backgrounds are AWESOME!!! LOL
  16. that first pic is my favourite... but, i was wondering, do you have the single non-HDR image? the more i see HDR the more unreal looking it is to me, but as they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder!! And i think the first one would be a beauty shot on it's own!!
  17. Well, i broke down and bought a DSLR a couple months back... haven't really had a good opportunity to play with it. expanded from the kit lens to a fast (er) f1:1.7 50mm prime lense (fixed focal length) and decided taht the inlaws dog would be the target... well, let me just say that this "new" lense (to me that is, as it's from the '80's or so) is a manual focus lens, camera won't focus for you- you gotta twist, turn it 'til it does... and as you know, when dogs get excited, you gotta be quick... so the result of indoor, low light at 5pm shooting is this: Composition could be better of course, especially in the second picture, but when you're indoors shooting sput of the moment things often times you don't get to pick and choose the backgrounds lol I also wanted to include some of my favs with the old Kodak P850... P850 with a B+W circular polarizer... all taken in Temagami Sunny afternoon on the lake... Sunset on the way back in... Evening sunset, kook close enough and you can see the rings from my lure after it landed... and a bit of a wrinkle from the line... gotta PP the vignetting as it looks really bad there... spent very litle time in PP with these, could use some more editing, but meh, i'll get to it someday lol
  18. pretty much everything inland is closed for the season... niagara river and port D are the only choices in the niagara region i can think of
  19. i only see her moving clockwise.... maybe i need some cheeba or something?
  20. equality brand shrimp ring is $3. ($2. when on sale) for 50-60 frozen pieces, it's actually pretty cheap when compared to chicken livers ($4. for a pack of apx 12), of course that's all for catfishin'.... got 2 packs of shrimp in the fridge waiting for spring
  21. and also, whatever you do, do NOT run your boat through the middle of the drift- either with the main motor or a trolling motor- to get to the beginning of the drift or to hold in place... shore anglers aswell as boaters hate that equally lol
  22. so i've got to ask, did you all sit and use the history/heal tool on all your pics? i've got watermarks on all mine... gave up on editing it when i realised it was gonna leave watermarks all over it...
  23. give bibble a try for PP... easy to use and cheap to buy after the trial
  24. my inlaws live right there in confed and i'm there every weekend, lately, fishing the 3rd pond but have never fished there... might try it this afternoon while in town
  25. nice, my wifes family has been in this area for alot of years... i live in the old pelham highschool where my father in law attended, i'm sure if you lived here around the time they did you'd know the Rose family of Fenwick lol
