I like Izumi and FishTV (always seem to be bassin')... and way back when, used to watch Charlie White on PBS, loved the underwater camera views he had of the bait and fish striking, very informative!!
-
don't know alot of either, but much prefer Rush... tho i'm not even close to being of their "generation" of music... like the others, i like the rainbow butt monkeys, i mean finger eleven aswell...
-
try typing in Britney Spears.... wait, no... you'll get other "goodies" for the results... just type in a mainstream band to make sure it's working... heck, search for Aerosmith, if you get results you know it's working properly, might just be what yuo're after doesn't exist on the internet lol

So far no problems with our healthcare system here, my mother has 9 brain aneurysms, she sent an email to Dr. Perrin (or Parent- something like that), head of neurology or neurosurgery at St. Mikes in Toronto, on a sunday no less and within 2hrs he emailed her back and then physically spoke to her the same day and saw her 3 days later... that's nothing to scoff at and it's something to be proud of... in the last year she's had 2 surgeries, 3 coiled and 2 clipped and she's doing great, they expected her to lose use of her right leg, nodda she could run a marathon if she wanted to... and so far she's paid for the gas to get back and forth, wonder how much it would cost in the U.S.???? http://edition.cnn.com/2007/HEALTH/06/28/s...iref=newssearch http://edition.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/Movies...iref=newssearch As for the movie, haven't seen it and probably won't, never saw fahrenheit 9/11 either....

stoty- you could very well be... but of course averaging out the braid to mon yuo're actually spending more money then the guys who use braid ... braid will last 3 or more years, i'm on year 2 right now and haven't turned the braid yet, maybe next year... costed me i think $14. to spool up for 3yrs= $4.75 per year for line ain't too bad.... when i used mono it was changed a minimum of twice a year per spool, $14. for a spool of mono x 3 (330yds per spool for 3yrs)= $14. per year... $10. extra in my pocket for lures

be curious on the pricing you guys are getting... will be getting my set in a month or so and so far, without having my prescription handy, i can say i'll be in the $300.+ range for frames/lenses it looks like

they keep promising big storms here in Fenwick (Niagara area) and never ever seem to produce even a drizzle of rain, let alone thunderstorms... cities 10mins down the road in all directions get the storms, but we don't... i feel cheated
-
stoty- your package should be in the mail... right now lol.... should be there monday i think
-
welp... they're down to 40% off now with 2 weeks to go... bass guys gotta get in there, lots of good plastics left, including GY senko's... still rods and reels left... tonnes 'o good stuff left still!!

imo.... the only thing that beats the originals are the handpours... tho some do swear by the Yum dingers!! www.tackleunderground.com will get you started... www.del-mart.com is one of the suppliers, you'll find the rest on the tacklunderground website... be warned tho, if you choose to start pouring you will become addicted lol If you lived closer i'd make you up a couple packs for free to try out... sadly, the shipping charges are ridiculous and it would be cheaper to just buy them at a tackle shop instead... handpourers have the advantage of creating their own colours tho... think taht's where the addiction comes in lol
-
been around for a few years now, really popular everywhere it seems... it's a salted stick bait that you pretty much dead stick, as it falls the ends wiggle a bit... works really well when the bite is slow... so many different names, GY senko is the original... then you got yum dingers, tiki sticks, wizzle worms, etc... The originals are pricey at $10. for a pack (of 8 ithink?), haven't bought any in a couple years, much more reqarding pouring my own and catching them!! lol

What is the first bait you will throw at bass this weekend?
spanky replied to wask's topic in General Discussion
just poured up some unsalted senko type baits in a laminate watermelon w/black flake top with a flourescent yellow w/orange flake bottom (perch pattern like), they will be thrown with a weighted weedless mustad ultrapoint hook, from northland lures... with my new stradic and crucial... sadly it will be done from shore as i don't have a boat, but hey i'll catch a few bass i'm sure -
Bass steelhead pike- tho i never catch any catfish crappie
-
if i had a boat and the wife some vacation time.. i tell ya'... i'd haul the wife up there for a couple days... never been and sounds like alot of fun!!
-
you got TSN and FOX and you get all the races.... TSN was on delay because of the Canadian F1 GP... haven't missed a race in forever, except when i'm out fishing and not around to catch it

Great report... Man i miss that place, went up in '97... the ribs WOW!!... and the people were great, best fishing i'll ever do i'm sure and it was the 2nd to last fishing trip with my Grandpa... brings back some great memories for sure!! They still offer the portage into that small little lake on the same side as the lodge?
-
oh man... i am sooooo hungry now... Gerrit- rub recipe please ... might just do this up for fathers day aswell

think we pay $6. a can in the U.S.... Niagara Falls, NY... no bother for us as we're there weekly anyways.. Raf, it's a multi-cleaner... use it mostly to get rid of carbon build up myself, but always dump the last 1/3 of the can in the gas tank. It's 100% petroleum based from what i remember so it shouldn't "gum up" or hurt anything... been using it for a couple years and so far so good... added it a few weeks back to my SOHC neon w/200,00km the entire valvetrain looks brand new now lol
-
Really?good to know... i'm gonna have to check it out... any idea on cost tho? Looked everywhere for it, imported some and people have been asking us where we got it from... heck, even the place we got it from in the U.S. says they have a few canadians per month come over and stock up
-
I've been chasing that damned EVAP code around my car for 2yrs+ now... can't figure it out, replaced several lines and a gas cap (or was it 2), still throwing the code, just doesn't show up with a check engine light... $50 OBDII reader works as good as the $300. units the garages use, well except when it comes to the scanning/parameter parts lol
-
Seafoam imo is the best.... add 1/3 can to your oil, 1/3 can through a vacuum line and 1/3 bottle in your gas tank... wait a bit restart the car and watch the carbon fly... Sadly, you can't get it in Canada.... which is why i have a few cans of it laying around here lol

It was soooo funny, the night before we left she was actually quite upset we had to come home, she's 25yo (for the last 5yrs lol) now and talking about retiring to the north, and she's already making plans to head back up in september!!... she's a country girl at heart tho, got married on her old farm and for the wedding pics we took a hay ride lol.... think i'm the luckiest man in the world!! I did let the Nikon camera purchase slip... and well, let's say it's new to the market and i will be getting at DSLR when it comes down to a price i like lol thanks everyone!!
-
Thanks for the kind words everyone!! you have no idea how hard it was... well it was fine, now i won't live the "i out fished you" ever lol was a great trip with a great gal... she's actually holding both fish... all i got to do was this lol It was my first time north in exactly 10yrs... last time was with my fishing mentor, my grandfather(more like a father as he raised me), after he passed in '99 i wasn't sure if i'd ever want to go back... but obviously we did, kinda like introducing my wife to him ya' know? he passed in June of '99 and almost a year to the day i met my wife.... dang, never looked at it like that LOL Will be more reports this coming summer as i'm 100% healed after wrist surgery in '05.. gotta make up for some lost fishing time!! I'm learning on a Koday P850... with a B+W circular polarizer, the next step is a Nikon SLR i'm looking at.. shhh haven't told the wife yet lol

So the wife dragged me on a fishing honeymoon.... geeesh... anyways, we went to the Temagami area to Ravenscroft lodge on Jumping Caribou lake, upon getting there (a day early) we settled in and relaxed for the night... i will include the honeymoon pics at the bottom of the post... Day 1: had breakfast (didn't have to cook a thing all trip, meals were taken care of), wifey decided she wanted to do some touristy stuff.... so a 25min drive later we arrived in Temagami to piddle around the shops and stuff... stopped at the tackle shop (Dad's) on our way in, talked to the owner and he said "wow, tough lake to fish..." oh great i thought this'll be interesting, guy at the Gramp's tackle shop said the same thing, so i was discouraged a bit, haven't been north in about 10yrs and never fished this area, and am not a walleye fisherman- if there's no weeds, i'm usually pretty lost lol.... oh well, not there to fish a whole lot anyways... snapped a few pics while in Temagami... Then naturally the wifey got on this kick about seeing a moose, so 50km's later down this gravel backroad in a dodge neon we see this... yep, a ground hog... not even close to resembling the moose, but hey whatever right.... also found this neat little spot... Day 2: saw a bit of fishing, 4hrs worth, the most we did in a day i think, played around the lake snapped a few more pics of the scenery During lunch i played around trying to get a pic of these little guys... while doing so... we hear something that's not quite bird like... landed about 200ft from our cabin lol our sunset looked something like this... from the boat and from the cabin... Day 3: total write off, we had rain on Day 2 and had to pick our spots for getting out, but day 3 was t-storms all day long= no fishing... but we did go moose hunting (camera only, wife had never seen one) with SUCCESS lol... look very close and you can see a moose's ass... 2 of them were standing along side HWY 11 in a marshy area, one staring at us and the other walking away, guess which one the wifey took pics of : Day 4: well, finally some success, again 2 t-storms rolled through... 1 first thing in the morning and one later at night, so we headed out in the sunshine in the late morning and again for an hour after lunch... and the results were... the only 2 fish of the trip, which she caught, the big one came home and the small one swam away, despite the wifey trying to eat it raw lol.... and our last night... that concluded the honeymoon... was awesome to get away, wifey didn't wanna come home... our hosts were incredible, food was awesome (despite the fact that the servings were HUUUUGE lol), cabins were above par and the area was beautiful... big thanks to Joe and Julie the owners of the lodge, their hospitality was 2nd to none!!... will hopefully be retuning this september for some more fishing and more relaxing!! more random pics... sorry if the pic quality is off, was learning to use the camera on fully manual... think i did okay lol and for what took place at the after fishing party.... if you cannot see the pics you are either too young or not mature enough to see them LOL j/k
