  2. wife and i are going to Ravenscroft for our honeymoon this coming May/June... think it has what you're looking for and is super cheap aswell, i've never been tho but i got a reference to this place from a good friend and tackle shop owner...
  3. looks good basskicker, haven't seen you much on TU lately... will have to snap a few pics of what i've got on the go looks like you got the super floater bubbles in them... that stuff is a PITA to work with, if you found another way to keep them floating like that congrats 'cause i know i hate the floater bubbles and haven't been able to rack my brain hard enough to find something else that will work... as for colours... trick worm, clear with large and small silver holo flakes with a very tiny amount of .008 gunmetal glitter... and some blue super hi-lite for that little bit of vein...
  4. cops and judges let bigger things go... get pulled over doing 120km/h on the QEW the cop may just give you a warning, despite the letter of the law saying you should be fined... really, maybe your neighbour loves to eat bass and maybe it was one of them things that a son goes out of his way and does for his father during an extremely hard time, just to make him feel the slightest bit better... i think it's safe to say that everyone here would do almost anything for their parent that is suffering a hard time, including twisting/breaking the law a little bit... imo, you did the right thing
  5. Man, i'm waiting for Pam Anderson to show up... Pete looks ALOT like Tommy Lee!! oh and a brave man to wear a hat like that... tho i'm sure you didn't have much say in the matter lol
  6. i stumbled across it on the net somewhere, and i have no clue where i got it from... it's like a fishermens prayer almost... seems suitable for most guys here!!
  7. mail order brides? .... sounds like some folks got their boats out of storage and good thing you said ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM misfish, hear ZOOM ZOOM is patented by mazda
  8. i saw THESE ONES at wal-mart yesterday...
  9. cute girl, sexy accent, erotic girly plaything, the wild untamed outdoors... is it wrong that i was turned on by it? j/k great story for sure, definately something for the grandkids to hear.... or maybe not lol
  10. no where, sadly the niagara region doesn't have much (read anything) in the way of trib fishing...
  11. i think you should name it Lew, or Lewla... it's got the moustache going on like our resident Lew lol no idea, we usually just wait and see what kind of personality our dogs would have before naming them... cute dog either way
  12. i hope it doesn't turn out like that... she's a farm girl tho, so she's more comfortable in the boonies then she is in a mall!! And as a follow up, i gave BPS in T.O. a call and they are not approved by the canadian coast guard/transport canada... and BPS doesn't carry anything else in that style (mesh shoulders)... so the search goes on
  13. i buy from ebay all the time... luckily tho, i have a US address so i can ship it there and go grab it when i want and bring it back as personal stuff, sometimes i pay the taxes and sometimes i don't, way cheaper tho
  14. thanks for the help all We will be at the camp for the week, 16' boat/15hp motor, all meals, fireplace and a bunch of other stuff is all included for $900. for the 5 nights, great deal imo, aslong as the fishing is as good as i've been told Clamp-It.... didn't know there was a place in north bay to do so, thank you!! Rizzo- congrats on the snapper, i know lots of guys try and try and try and it takes years for some to catch a snapper ... as for "jumping" caribou, it was my wifes idea, maybe i should get to know her better before i marry her lol
  15. So i booked our honeymoon, staying at RAVENSCROFT LODGE lodge in Temagami at the end of June, clean quiet cheap and recommended by a good friend... i'm wondering if anyone has any shore spots between North Bay and Temagami where i could do some brook trout fishing (never been to that area and have a day and a half to kill, please don't make me go shopping with the wife lol)... you can PM me if you like.... heck, even shore spots for some walleye/pike would be good. I will be purchasing PFD's for my wife and I, now i'm going to be ordering from BPS for these and was curious on the regulations, are the USCG approved ones okay or is there another designation i shold be looking for? these are the PFD's Lastly, anyone ever fish jumping caribou lake, any pointers would be good... will be the first vacation for the wife and i together... and besides it being our honeymoon, i would like to get her into her first pike and walleye... God love a woman who WANTS to go fishing on her honeymoon LOL

  17. thanks for the info guys, will have a look at their websites
  18. so i'm curious on the opener for walleye?... having never fished there myself I'll be getting married on the 26th of May and we're kinda looking around for a place to go, just to be away and do some fishing you know... and because of the wedding the money is tight. so i'm wondering if someone could give me some guidance on a "good" place to stay and a place to rent a suitable boat from?
  19. one on sale this week, nice little kodak with tonnes of zoom and only $30. over your budget.... http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.a...=&langid=EN
  20. My cousin is trying to become a fire fighter, from what i know he's taken all the courses the red cross offers (first aid, CPR, first responder, etc), he has done some testing for the govt., i know he's had a couple interviews not sure what for, he got his license to drive the truck (DZ i assume?) and he is now in Alberta in "school" for 3 months.... not sure what the schooling is all about, i just know he had to write a bunch of tests, have some evaluations/interviews done before they accepted him. It was recommended to him by a fire fighter, i believe, that he go there and take the course... there's alot of hoops to jump through and many different paths to take from what i hear. He is planning on returning to the Niagara area to find a job, maybe he already has one, not sure... just know he's not staying in Alberta
  21. used them alot last year... i don't buy spinnerbaits no more, hooked alot of fish... bass, pike and even a large 13" perch, white w/silver worked best for me!!
  22. Suffix Elite and Suffix Siege... awesome strength, abrasion resistance and almost no memory... just to bad i have to go to BPS or Gander Mtn to get it...
  23. we use chicken livers with great success and chubs/large minnows, don't really use anything else... tried hotdogs with no luck and stink baits with no luck...
  24. all i could see was this... don't tell me you don't have those kids that fly around with the 70,000,000 watt stereo blaring and shaking everything within a 10 block radius, that irritates the hell out of me especially at 2am in the morning... the style of the cars themselves, i have no problem with, i just think those carbon spoilers look goofy is all... almost like it's trying to grab the attention of a younger, less domestic, audience... toyota and goofy spoilers, maybe trying to get that illusive crowd of import driving teens, dunno... it just looks goofy lol and not at all angry... and have no problem with the spoiler type from the superbirds
  25. when did they start using 16yo kids and their honda civics?... watching them spoilers taht's all i could think of, "look at the honda go", betcha the 1 second slower times were because of the 4 15" ground pounding subwoofers in the car... "hey, i got a vibration here... my mistake Jr. had his stereo on"... i say bleh to the COT and bleh to Bush winning too!!
