Cloudy here in bobcaygeon been looking a few times since 2am nothing here !!!!

30yrs of ice fishing and being on the ice and living right beside it I have heard and seen it do some amazing things !!! And the sounds I have heard it squeal like fingers down a chalkboard to sounding like several drummers pounding on bass drums 100 feet away !!!! I have also seen pieces of ice 5-10ft across get pushed several feet in the air when the ice is expanding !!!! It never gets old that's for sure ..... And the other night up here in the kawarthas when it was -30 it was really banging and making lots of noise it's so cool ... So take it in and enjoy .... Cheers

to break my PB smallie of 5lbs !!!!! and to fish more new water as last year i fished 13 different lakes,this year going to try and fish another whole bunch of new water i did a total of just over 2,000km fishing those 13 lakes so yes more bucket list lakes to do this year !!!! tight-lines smallies watch out im comming for you.... you can swim but you cant hide !!!!!

The smallies are invading lakes up there and doing major harm to the trout only lakes there have been many discussions on this issue including biologists and scientists and the MNR Ontario out of doors and several others have done articles on the bass invasion up there it's quite a big problem

Like irishfield says but , sometimes the powder inside does go hard and regardless it's probly time to take it to the pros at my work the come once a year and do about 25 of them it needs to be checked and recharged for sure !!!! Better to be safe than sorry as it doesn't cost much at all

Head up here the kawarthas area lots of farms and most farmers would probly let you hunt them for sure I see them fairly regularly and there is quite a few we hear them howling and last winter watched 2 yotes chase a deer across the lake through binoculars !!!! Cool and I know they would let you coon hunt for sure farmer up the road had shot 10. This year alone he told me !!!!!

I had some 40 creek cream whiskey liqueur in my coffee as well this morn !!!! Feels like another !!!!

Kudos to the manager !!!! That was awesome I myself have had lots of experiences at Canadian tire and find that many times they will go the extra mile to help you !!!! I shop there all the time and I have had to take bak some expensive items before and never had an issue !!!!! In fact I was just there Saturday trying to find a spark plug for my snowblower and they didn't have it but the guy at the parts counter tried and did find a cross reference number and a different make of plug and spent 10mins doing it while he was supposed to be going on break but he said to the other guy there he would finish with me before he would go on break !!!! And yes he even went in the back and came out with the spark plug !!!!! All is good Canadian tire keep up the great work !!!!! just one reason I always keep going back !!!!

A co-worker of mine lives in east Oshawa courtice area and thy have had no power since Saturday night and they also tried to buy salt and supplies like flashlights and propane heaters and went to several stores and they are all sold out of everything like that !!!! And forget about generators she said some guy wanted $1,000 for a used 5yr old one he was trying to sell it from the back of his truck in a shopping mall parking lot till people told him to f-off !!!!! Can you imagine the nerve ...... That's totally taking advantage of the bad situation !!!! And this morning here in bobcaygeon it's -23 It looks as tho most have power around here but ours has gone out a few times but came back on after 10mins !!!!! In 2011 we had a bad ice storm here in the Kawartha lakes area and we lost it for 3 days so they put in several new poles and new wires and stronger supports for a few miles up to the highway !!! And they cut a few big trees down so I know that's the only reason we still have power as before that we always would loose power several times a year due to storms in summer and storms in winter !!!! So I'm glad we have new stuff running through our little cottage community here on sturgeon lake !!! Hope everyone can stay warm specially the elderly that live on their own !!!! If you know of any please check on them !!!!

lots of guys have been ice fishing on quinte,and some real nice fish being caught too !!! lots of good safe ice if you know where you are going,check with local tackle shops or the locals.....or quintefishing website for tha latest info !!!!!

well i dont mind working boxing day,and december 31st as both days are double time pay so noooooo problem here !!!!! still lots of time for snowmobiling but i gotta take the hours seeing how i got offered to do it !!!!!....

Go to Ontario out of doors website and read the thread " good bye sturgeon lake walleye" and read how the fish were dry dumped back into little bob lake in 25 degree water and how there were up to 30 dead fish lying dead on the bottom !!! There is all the info so you can get the info instead of making assumptions on what you think you know about it there was so much wrong it can't all be put into a post !!!! And I was there last year too for the weigh in to see how it was done and last year it was done great !!!!

It wasn't the anglers that did the damage !!! Read the article !!!! It was a total farce the temp was insane warm water lousy wait times to weigh the fish the release boat was not set up the fish were being held out of the water there was a lot going on !!!! You can't have a live realeases walleye tourney in 40 degree humidex and pump 25 degree water into your livewell while tourney officials made the boats wait for 45 mins to get their fish out !!!! I was there I seen it ..... Especially in mid June it was alwYs in early may when temps were colder and water was colder !!!! He was criticized right from the beginning saying it was to late to have a walleye tourney at that time in June !!!!!! The facts are the facts and he was charged ..... So garnet you are saying bass guys don't know how to handle walleyes very well ?? Ya ok .....

. I have made these replies before too shayne !!! Some people do more Internet fishing than actually going out for themselves !!! You and I have talked about it before remember before the Internet studying maps and weather and many long drives checking places and spending hours doing your own legwork and grunt work to find all that info out !!! I get asked a lot about Kawartha lakes conditions too and spots and all that info the most recent was: is there any snow there and is the lake frozen and if it is where should I fish and what to use and if bass season is still open ??? Hahaha ..... They don't even want to check for themselves they just want someone else to do the work for them .... Not happening lol ...give me a shout shayne over the holidays

It was disgusting lets just say that !!!! And now it was proven in court !!!! I'm still mad as heck over it and it never should have happened there was anglers and people saying it was wrong from the get go and tried to voice their opinion !!! And as I stated before it so hot that day and the fish were so badly treated it was a gong show !!!!

Yes the MNR was called when people noticed what was going on and took pics and the whole nine yards !!!! Again it was lousy planning and everything that day it was very hot and you cannot have walleyes in hundred degree livewells sitting there being held up and not released properly they cannot take to temps !!!!! The tournament is now several weeks earlier than it was just for that reason alone !!! All the special walleye regs were put into place here on the kawarthas to help the walleyes then this happened the MNR should have shut it down for good !!!
