  8. Thanks wayne,it sure sounds like everyone is unsure what to do,my outboard is an o6,and in the manual it tells me to run the plus fuel,in it but if its not available the 87 octane will do ?????...what are the manufacturers saying about this fuel dilema?????
  9. But is it true if you put in the premium fuel, like the 92 octane or the sunoce 94 octane,is there ethanol in that gas as well i think someone said that their wasnt??????
  10. Be very careful, bark lake is a very big,big lakeand is vary unpredictable, with currents & lots of pressure cracks due to rising & falling water levels, there is lots of access points, but i would really recomend going with a reputable guide, and rent a hut then you will learn the areas and be safe...for going out your first time i would not do it alone, and do some homework,on the puter and get a lake map,and some info on what area you were thinking of fishing....like i said it can be way more dangerous than lake simcoe,i dont mean to scare you off, just aware...there are many smaller lakes around the area of barrys bay, that are alot more productive and alot safer and easier to find fish...good-luck
  11. Well mines gotta be a 2-tone color 1/4 oz chartreuse/orange jig head, with a 3 inch pearl or white twistertail,or a gulp power minnow in emerald shinner or smelt !!!!!. ...that combo has put many walleyes in the zip-lock freezer bags !!!.....cheers
  12. WOW...i hope everone who is going that way with a 4-wheeler or snow machine is made aware of that man thats huge !!!!!!

  18. Well we usually fish for splake the same way we fish for perch...well at least equipment wise, small jigs, minnows & small spoons ctc,etc....try to find, points,or if you know the lake find any trees that have fallen before the ice came, fish there, any inflowing creeks or springs,as well as edges of green weedbeds if you can find them !!!...splake will hit just about anything just like perch will if they are in a feeding mood, and most times we never fish really deep for them in less than 20ft,with around 10-15 being the best we find, now thats all for the bancroft area, but if i was heading to an area i havnt fished before i would first try and do all of the above forst,so hope this helps, and im sure other members have some info for you as well.....cheers & good-luck

Well done Ehg !!!! thats a real nice pickering bay/nuke walleye, man we sure had some nice 10+ walleye catches some days, back when you could fish the warm water outflow from shore, before the whole world found out about it !!!!..and yes they still get them at various times of the year from a boat with december & january being the best times for us anyway.....cheers

  25. Hey cliff, that unit gerritt has is a great unit for the price, its color and has alot of options that a lowrance or humminbird unit would have for twice the cost, the eagle units like that one have greatly improved the last few years ,i know you would thank yourself many times over for spending just that little bit mare for that unit, and trust me cliff,it does make a difference,in the options ,and things that you would not see on lesser units, like bottom composition & grayline,it will help give you more details therefore uping your catch, the little things, like paying attention to detail put more fish in the boat man !!!!! good unit gerritt....
