there is still guys jiggin through the ice on sturgeon down the lake from where i live,still lots of ice on the lake,but stay away from the rivers they are flowing fast,and high lots of open water be careful if you dont know the area....cheers

a few years ago,online i seen a pic of a guy that made one similar out of a picnic table,and 4 blue barrels...it was priceless!!! and he had a foot pedal trolling motor on it as well...

The best place in Ontario for cats....is of course the mighty Ottawa river at arnprior Ontario they even have a catfish festival its awesome cats between 5-20lbs and tons of them all day long....cheers

I like it for trolling for walleyes and of course using a 10lb floro leader its fine for trolling and stands up to regular abuse well good line for the money. Cheers

location,location ,location....try bouncing bottom or trolling a harness along weededges shoals,im guessing you were in a boat??? and try changing your fishing times early morning or evening...

well maybe all these idiots that are fishing for oos bass should see what happens to a basses eggs in the nest when a bass is pulled off,specially if the gobies are around they can clean out a nest in a few seconds....morons...they are on the nest for a reason...i have seen perch and rock bass all around bass that are on their nest just waiting to get in there...

bottom bouncing for walleyes is one of the most effective ways to get them...its my go to system for sure even for negative mood walleyes it will sometimes take them when nothing else will....bounce over shoals weedlines or drop offs vary your leads too anywhere between 2-4ft back from the bouncer,try dragging a slow death mustad hook with a berkley gulp 5inch black leech !!!! totally deadly for eyes...

i hear youm lew...ecmilley a.k.a ernie and myself live just down the lake from big cliff,and we see it all the time,but this weekend we have seen the opp police boat everyday and we were also stopped first thing saturday morn...they are out in full force,so its too bad they wernt around when that happened..we have many times been in a quiet bay bass fishing or trolling for walleyes and they come just barelling right by at 40-50 mph with no regard and without safety in mind.but after today we will be back to having it all to ourselves again..its just like watching the houseboats try to figure out what side of the bouys to be on..lol..lol tightlines shawn

yes we know how sturgeon lake will be for sure cliff,it figures last year it was even worse it was snowing and blowing it was miserable....oh well the walleye just might get an extra few days to fattin up !!!! lol we will probly go out but will stay on the ready or maybe hit a smaller lake with a little more weather protection.maybe ernie and i will see you out there in the comming days...do you know if snug harbor has the gas pumps up and running yet???? birch point has been the only place to get gas on the lake so far this year....shawn

well i feel for you as well in 2000 i bought a new tracker pro-guide 16ft and within the first few times of having it in the water the paint started to lift off the hull,and it just kept getting worse,and the paint was literally floating off the side of the hull,well after almost a year of being on the phone and complaining to tracker in missisippi,they took my boat back to get it repainted,werll the problem was it wasnt etched properly,and i had it to two specialists in the marine painting area to verify this before tracker would take it back,well it was gone for over 4 months,and they left it sitting with the cover off,and the scorching sun down there bleached the whole one side of my boat seats as well and cracked all the tires beyond belief....long story short all they did was repaint it and sent it back...get this they did not re-etch the paint so after 2 fishing trips it started to peel paint again.....i called a lawyer and paid for him to send a letter of intent to sue.and they gave me my money back and i promptly sold it....i had also spent about 50 bucks on my phone bill as well...they treated me like crap too,i will never ever deal with them again,so best of luck,and call a layer but first get a profesional estimate or call a marine insurance surveyer and im sure they will deem it unsafe and write it off then sue...good luck shawn

hi everyone its shawn here,it sure has been along time since i have posted,but i do check in from time to time im still living up near bobcaygeon and fishing,as a matter of fact i met up with big cliff yesterday on the lake crappy fishing,and said hi and we chatted for a bit. i wish i could be online alot more as our puter at work is all blocked and i dont have one at home,but i now see ya can get the OFC mobile on my blackberry so i will try it out.anyway i hope everyone is doing ok and i will hopefully be able to post again like normal....take care talk soon shawn tightlines.....
