  1. That was on Cook's Bay, Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota (hence the "Tonka" reference).
  2. Check out the end of this video for another great figure-8 take, on the fly no less.
  3. A buddy of mine has a cabin on Graphite...Smallies and Pike.
  4. Thanks...I saw that after I posted. Fixed with a link to a different site with the same recipe.
  5. This recipe is amazing. Simple but very tasty! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/488218415827842660/
  6. You and me both bud! That fish was absolutely amazing and that trip was probably one of the most memorable fishing days I've had in a long time! Another view of Bill's leviathan...that's an 8" hole!!!
  7. That was a riot bud...I'll take the day we had over crowded rivers anytime. Thanks again for hauling the boat down! Another view of the beast!
  8. 15-20mm of rain is in the forecast for Friday.
  9. We weren't actually shot at however this nut did fire off a shotgun into the air after we told him to leave us alone since we were not standing on his property. I placed a call to the Meaford OPP and they paid this clown a visit immediately.
  10. Indeed. Thankfully I didn't have to remove any bird shot from my hide that day.
  11. That "tree" is indeed a cell tower. My in-laws live up there and there are a few of them that are constructed to look like trees.
  12. I personally haven't done that trip but do know that the portage is mostly uphill with a fairly steep climb at the end. The whole portage sees a total elevation change of about 120-150m. As for the fishing, both lakes have Brookies and Lakers. While you can't rely on this as an accurate indicator of how productive the fishing will be, the Algonquin fishing surveys do offer a reasonable snapshot into the fishing success experienced on various lakes. The 2010 survey has the most data for the two lakes in question (scroll down in the link to find the various survey links). http://www.algonquinpark.on.ca/visit/recreational_activites/fishing-in-algonquin-park.php
  13. My gazebo!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FP064tEnYrc
  14. I tried to best Bill's fish but only managed to connect with little ones.
  15. Not "selfies". I took the pictures quickly with my phone.
  16. Not a Simcoe fish Wayne...which makes it even more impressive IMO. Was 38 inches of angry Char.
  17. Or check stocking lists for the area you want to fish.
  18. Definitely, if it's a stocked lake chances are they are there (provided that it doesn't see heavy fishing pressure). They can certainly be hot and cold depending on the day.
  19. Looks like an amazing trip. The one Hipster looked a bit out of his element though...you might want to leave the skinny jeans and Wayfarers at home for the next canoe trip. Must have been tough in the bush without his no-fat Hazelnut Macchiatos LOL!
  20. Yep, fish shallow near fallen trees (as mentioned), also rocky points as well as shallow, muddy bays which hold aquatic insects. When I go, I always pack in some nightcrawlers (keep the container inside your coat if it's cold though!).
  21. ^ yup. You can't go too big for Lakers! I use 4-5" shiners for Lakers routinely and Whitefish will hit them as well if they are aggressive. If not, then downsize as stated. Now cue up the next 20+ posts stating that you don't *need* minnows...
  22. Welcome. You may wish to consider a different handle as my buddy is already registered as "Super Dave"
