  1. That's when you pull out the Muskie gear and see if you can pull one of them into the lake.
  2. Ah ok. That stuff always confuses me. I'm in a sim baseball league but the rules are very different from the MLB. It's a shame but I get it though
  3. ..... It won't? So you would be happy if they missed the playoffs by 2 points and picked 20th in next years draft?
  4. Leafs didn't get the memo that this is a rebuild year. If they end up 9th or 10th this year it will be very upsetting
  5. I hope they budget goes up. Lots of good pitchers out there, but you gotta spend. Anyone know what the jays have to do to get comp picks if they don't end up signing Price?
  6. I've never had a problem with Pfluger products. The president is such a good reel. You can't go wrong with the Shimano line either. Both are good selections
  7. Wow! What a amazing trip. This is a dream trip of mine and it looks like it lived up to all of the hype. Amazing report.
  8. I'll be super stoaked if I can get out on Christmas Eve with Nick again. That was a hell of a way to kick off the season.
  9. Hey Chad, I owe you and Joey a beer when we come visit this winter. I used your trick you use to get your sled on the truck with a Sod Cutter today. Saved my back and impressed the boss.

  10. Someone didn't get the memo. Leafs weren't supposed to beat Dallas. Still an enjoyable game. Good to see a few lucky bounces.
  11. Rules are weird sometimes. I got a post taken down with a bird on it because of the name of the bird. I didn't name the dang thing.
  12. I'm nervous when a guy takes over a team with talent, aging vets, and a struggling division and says 'My main focus is prospects'. It's interesting though, if AA hadn't made any deals, the Jays had missed the post season, Shapiro comes in and says his focus is on prospects, my tune would be totally different. I believe though that you have to play the cards you are delt, and focusing on prospects with the Jays right now is swimming upstream on an already fast current.
  13. I don't think Revere is back. Also I disagree with the value of a good GM. He's not on the field but he essentially created this time and gave it an identity. If we look at a bad GM in Brian Burke in the leafs, he made a horrendous trade for Kessel that set the team back 5 years minimum. Probably more like 10 (how would we look with Seguin and Hamilton?). I can't think of one deal that AA made that made such a negitive impact for the team. That's the big thing. The Dickey, Johnson, Reyas and Buhrle trades weren't great but the team was able to recover. The Donaldson and Tulo trades, AA looks like a wizard doing those. GMs are like managers are like bench coaches. I don't believe they can win you games, but they sure can lose you a heck of a lot. Let's hope the new guy doesn't lose the Jays too many important ones.
  14. You guys went the opposite direction of the point I was trying to make. you lace weed with another drug. Person smokes weed says 'that was good. What is it?' Dealer says 'that's heroin' person says 'oh'. Starts thinking about it, wants more. Dealer charges the regular price for heroin. Customer for life. That is how, when illigal, marijuana is a gateway drug.
  15. It's probably true in terms of method but in terms of reasoning behind it I totally understand it. In college, my first weekend I was wandering around Rez and a couple of guys asked me if I wanted to come into their house and meet some new people (it's college and this was on campus so I didn't think much of it). I walk in and their kitchen table has 3 lines of cocaine running the length of the table. They told me to enjoy myself and that as a frosh special it was 'all you can eat. For free'. I took a pass. I've never had interest or curiosity in cocaine but I know why they did it. As a 'first timer' I don't imagine I could have taken more then $30-$50 worth of drugs but they were hoping they would have college kids as customers for life. I know it's a little more subtle with marijuana but I could see trying to get kids hooked on the harder stuff. As you said though, not totally sure how they would get it to stick.
  16. Ok, so my full opinion on this. When I was a teen (which wasn't super long ago). Everyone knew a guy. I'm talking like 14-15-16 years old. If you wanted to get marijuana it was easy. Everyone knew someone. I didn't think of it at the time but there was something scary about that. We would hear about pot laced with all sorts of different things. That's how it becomes a 'gateway drug'. Not because people want to try other stuff but because dealers lace their weed with cocaine and heroin to create a market. I don't smoke anymore as I find it just makes me tired and paranoid but I am all for legalizing it. When pot is legalized, you regulate it. It is known to stunt brain growth in people under 20 so you make the legal age to purchase and consume marijuana 21. You hand out harsher sentences for trafficking and really lay down the law on anyone smoking behind the wheel or at work without a doctors note. It would be no different then alcohol or cigarettes except probably much more thoroughly regulated. Saying no one will smoke if weed is illigal is just silly. Saying no one underage will smoke if weed is legal is just silly. But I'll take the lesser of two evils.
  17. I feel like the Doritos are more unhealthy (long term) then the marijuana. Oh the irony.
  18. I'd like to hold out judgement on Shapiro but what a first impression. Kick out the door the guy who got the team to the playoffs for the first time in 22 years. I wonder what Beaston thinks of this? My biggest thing was that AA made deals no one saw coming and it didn't seem like we ever got fleeced. Tulo, Donaldson..... I doubt we will ever see trades like tht again in Toronto.
  19. See, I didn't have a problem with with AA did before this year. He took a big shot when he brought in Dickey, Burhle, Reyes, and Johnson. It didn't work out but he took a huuuuuge shot then. What I was so impressed with him was the fact that after that shot was taken, it didn't take 5-8 years of recovery. He was able to load up and take another big swing just 3 seasons later (2? I don't remember now). The fact that he can 'go for it' more then once over a couple of years is a sign of how well the team has drafted and the minors were organized.
  20. Saturday night I dare not drive. Too much can happen. Halloween and New Year's Eve. The car stays parked those days.
  21. Chad has the right idea. (I read this as that scene in Monty Python)
