Haha...I love fishing too, don't get me wrong, but when hunting season starts up, my fishing gear collects dust LOL Its a whole different addiction once you start! Just sayin....its all good. S.

Yep, gotta get rid of the grubs. I think because winter lasted so long, there was more damage under the snow this winter. I have the same kind of problem at work, where I've never had it before. I think the voles got hungrier than usual, and had to search more for food. S.

Try calling. I find using internet contact us links useless. S.

What kind of critters are they Nick? And what kind of traps? What are you using for bait? S.

Launching at hiawatha is doable to the side, but you might need 4wd to get back out. Hopefully someone will use the $10 fee to fix the slab. S.

There isn't one that I know of thats public. It sucks. I live 15 mins from Bewdley. I've been bringing a bike with me....launch the boat, drive to parking lot, and bike back to boat, lock up bike, go fishing. I can't do it when I'm solo though, so its Bull. I don't know what they were thinking when they did that. If you launch at the first place coming into bewdley, they charge to launch, but the parking is a lot closer. S. S.

Interesting. I'm gonna shorten one, and leave one long to compare now. I'll let ya know how it works. S.

The fish that open this weekend, or two weeks ago have all spawned by now. It will be tough to catch them, but not targeting them won't do a thing IMO. I'll be out, and I"m hoping for a good fry!! S.

Yet every year you report whats happening up there?? Keep it to yourself Cliff. I know you mean well, and I'm not saying the crowd is your fault at all, because its not, but keeping tight lipped is the only way to roll. S.

50ft isn't that long. The lure will run straight back off the leadcore. It certainly won't rise above it. A plug will run deeper, obviously. S.

The problem with Bewdley is there is no parking anywhere close to the public launch. There is plenty of parking, but its almost 2km from the launch. Last time I was thru there (last week) the docks weren't in yet. Hiawatha is a good spot too, but I went by there last week to, and the concrete slab has shifted and caused a huge bump in the ramp. Im not sure I'd launch my boat there. Check your pm's. S.

Yep letting the water sit will remove the chorine. Another tip is instead of just changing the water, freeze some blocks of ice and add ice instead of water. Keeps them cooler. The colder they are, the less oxygen they require. Cold is the key. Especially with emeralds. Dace could live anywhere if the water is cold enough. S.

You should take up hunting and pass those on to your kids. That is pretty much the perfect collection of quality firearms, and having been your grandfathers, they are essentially priceless. I just couldnt sell them. The quotes seem pretty fair to me, but it wouldnt hurt to ask around. Someone looking for those models of firearms will pay more. They are hard to find in the condition you have. Good luck with the sale/decisions. S.

I like a long leader on leadcore. Usually 50ft to start....it gradually gets shorter thru the season....but it gets it away from the leadcore, and makes the lure dance better IMO. I also like to have it longer so when you get the knot from core-leader on the reel, and a big fish is close, and takes that last run before the net, the knot doesnt get caught in the reel/guides.....dont ask me how I know this LOL Ive seen days where leadcore will outfish riggers, dipseys, steel.....its a great way to catch spooky fish at a controlled depth. I always run it on a line counter....its easy to count going out, but when your fighting a big fish, its not so easy to keep track of coming in...the counter is nice. S.

Since its a lightt model, its safe to assume its 2 3/4 only. S.

That top spinnerbait Lew posted is one of my all time favourites too. Any bucktail or spinnerbait will work, as long as its black and orange S.

I think recruitment will suck this year, but the lakes overall will be fine. We might miss this year class in a few years, but the slot we have now will protect the fish that need protection. S.

Anybody know where to order outboard motor parts online?

A piece of weed whacker line works good for clearing the lines too. S. -
Current or target crappies. S.

Nice collection for sure. I would have a real hard time selling those if they were my grandfathers, but you won't have any trouble selling them. I assume you don't hunt at all? S.

One word...LOWRANCE! Im hearing lots of problems with the birds! Never liked them myself! I have lowrance units that are up to 10yrs old that still work like new! S.

How big an affect will winter kill have on small lakes?

Some of the pothole lakes around here got hit hard. One in particular, I think almost everything is toast. Pretty sad to see. S. -

You've got some interesting stories man. I'd love to put a few back around a campfire with ya sometime. I'm sure there is a lot more to your stories that can't be told here. Cool stuff! S.
