BPS XPS Pro Finesse M 7'6" XFast 1/4-5/8 Oz casting rod
steverowbotham replied to swiftability's topic in General Discussion
Because BPS hasnt manufactured these rods in over a year. I would say your best bet is for finesse fishing as the name implies. Light dropshots, tubes, grubs etc. -
It's got nothing to do with ethics, just that that UFC is going on a lawsuit spree for illegal broadcasting

Well everyone, my 2010 fishing season has come to an official close. I might do a bit of steelheading before the new year but I’m pretty much done and the boat is going away. I had a fantastic year landing lots of fish, putting clients on many PB’s and my inaugural ice guiding season was a success. I met a lot of board members and I hope to meet many more in the future. Let’s start off with the ice fishing season. I spent a lot of time on the hardwater this season chasing lake trout. Although we did get lots of whiteys, lakers were the main target. After lots of tinkering, I designed a jig that helped me put a tremendous number of fish on the ice, although like all baits, some days were better than others. I didn’t get a chance to do much steelheading this season which is pretty unfortunate as I’ve taken a liking to it. Did get out a few times though and managed fish each outing Pike Season was also pretty short lived for me as we took some vacation time to Cuba and I was working long hours. I did get out a bunch still and we managed some good fish. Then bass season arrived. The season started off with too much boat trouble and that hurt my first few tournament finishes of the season. We got it fixed up though and the season began. I had a great season, met lots of people and had some great days on the water. Won AOY for our club again as well. Enjoy the pics! Casey Cup after our motor broke down, we just fished near the launch all day on the trolling motor. Kelli’s PB @ 6lbs13oz Thanks for reading!

The last truely solid card IMO was 118 and the last AWESOME card was 116. That being said, the new WEC merger, all of the fights for 2010 look awesome already. Fight for the Troops, a free event, looks stacked even. It wont be boring for long.

Let me start by saying that I dont necessarily care about seeing this fight, but it makes sense for many reasons... We know the boss is all about the "rubber match", and look at the overall heavyweight picture. Who are Brock's options? Roy Nelson is in the middle of a legal battle with a former promoter, Shane Carwin just had back surgery. It's not worth it to him at this point to fight lower tier guys like Kongo, Rothwell, Cro Cop etc... Dos Santos is about to fight Cain next. Really the ony other options are Mir and Nogueira. Nogueira isnt near the PPV draw that Mir is and lets say Nogueira wins the fight ... what happens? He'd fight the winner of Velasquez/Dos Santos! Thats brutal... there's no way you could promote a rematch between Velasquez/Nogueira and Nog/Dos Santos are training partners and wont fight eachother. If Mir wins, then matches with Dos Santos and Velasquez are new and exciting. It's a match that needs to happen right now.

I've seen lots in Cooch but thats ot where they're stocking them. As far as Simcoe goes, I saw 4 this season which is many more than the 2 I've seen in the 5 years previous. All 4 were 30+ inches, one was 40+

nice season!

BJ Penn came out very motivated and caught Hughes early. Who knows how it would have gone if the fight lasted longer, I wouldnt say its time for him to retire, he was riding a 3 fight win streak leading up to this one and looked phenominal against Almeida. The thing with the Rampage/Machida fight is that the 10 point must system is not effective in MMA IMO. I had Rampage winning the first 2 rounds then Machida destroyed him in Rd 3. In UFC's 10 point must system, I had Rampage winning. If it was PRIDE rules, where you score the whole fight, I would have given it to Machida

Awesome... thats fall on Simcoe for ya!

I throw the Griffons quite a bit. Megabass has a phenominal line up. The PopMax and Anthrax are a couple favourites as well

It wasnt a super card by any means, but look at it like this... Its a German event which is a country they are still trying to break into.... They lost the co-main event of the evening due to illness... and most of all, they were competing with Pacquiao-Margarito which would have beat them in PPV buys if GSP was on the card, so why waste the money. It was free so we cant really complain, I thought there were some good fights. And when you say the UFC needs to get better... they're merging with the WEC in January, 135 / 145 lbs fights added to the cards will ensure better fights guaranteed. I've never been more excited for the sport... Look at the cards lined up for the new year so far... impressive... even the free Fight for the Troops event in January looks awesome! It's the Barrie Bassmasters that do it and we require MNR approval, I wouldnt suggest going to do it without obtaining permission

I should add that dropshotting became a big part of my success this year. I never realized until this season how crucial a dropshot is in my tackle selection. Strike Zone slammers made by our board member Mark Kulik put A LOT of fish in my boat this year!

Well everyone, its been almost 2 weeks since I've been on the water. Looking for work and helping the in-laws move (closer to the lake... WOOHOO). Filling early orders for laker takers and the up coming ice season. I'm itching for this wind to pass through and get back on the water, I figured I'd add some fish porn for everyone to have a gander at during these hard times, lol. Next week looks mint! Hoping to be on the water lots! This is the best time of year to land those giant smallies! clients with a nice double header! Giant almost 7 in July! nice day! Good day with dad! Happy client! Kelli learning the art of the dropshot Another happy client Good day out with good friends Nice one! Kelli's PB @ 6lbs 13oz Nice tournament bag Pig Some nice bronze Oh man I cant wait for next week!!!
