  1. thanks. I'm hoping to get more video this season, especially bass and pike fishing
  2. i have 6 st. croix ice rods and not a problem with one of them... and i beat them up
  3. I've shared the water with Cudz, Fisherpete, Frankie65, gone_fishin, troutguy, Kwan, BUSTER, jaydub, jimmydrooltray and probably some more. Open to fish with anyone if they're as nuts about it as me, would love to spend a day out with solopaddler, moosebunk, msp or weedline. I feel they all offer a wealth of knowledge I could learn from
  4. I've been out the last few days and we never smashed them like some people have out there. Such a game of timing and wanted to stay away from the crowds out there. Fishing has been getting better and better since the beginning of the season though and we're all getting fish now. Got a few fish on video this week, figured I'd share it with you guys. Havent really had a hot bait out there, caught them on jigging raps, bad boys, spoons, tubes and laker takers. Enjoy! Beware of possible foul language, I cant control em all haha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gi6tovlYdlA
  5. They're saying -38 with windchill in Barrie, glad I'm not out there today
  6. The main card is on SPIKE, there's 4 live prelims on facebook
  7. I had a last minute cancellation this morning, so Cal and I took advantage of it and headed to a new zone to try it out. Punched a few holes and set up a couple huts, even got his brother out for a while. Fishing was tough, not sure if it was a rough zone or the bite wasnt on today. Cal managed a couple fish, I lost my only one on the way up because I stopped reeling to grab the camera. Ah well, its the way she goes... Tomorrows looking too cold for my blood, but I'll be back atter shortly... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4a4_qbQyqUY
  8. Just Fish Crisp Beer Batter. It really is awesome stuff. Ive used it many many times and I'd recommend using Coors Light, its always turned out the best, I dont know why. and make sure the beer is cold!
  9. Thanks everyone, sounds like should try taking more videos out there... Might be seeing a new style of report from me this year. If I remember.. haha
  10. I got a call yesterday from a good friend and tournament partner asking if I wanted to go out to do some perch fishing. My freezer's empty and I could use the feed. We met up and headed out to one of my favourite spots on the Innisfil shore. After a chilly walk out, the GPS had us on point and we set up. Within 5 seconds of hitting the bottom with a small spoon I hit a 12 incher. Nice start! For the next couple hours we laid a beating on the perch and good size ones too! Ended up keeping my 50 so I can focus on lakers and whities for a while, we got some real good ones, one close to 15 inches even. At around 10am, Mike hooked up with what was clearly not a perch. We figured initially it was a whitie based on the location, but after 10 minutes we brought a nice THICK 27 inch laker through a 6 inch hole! What a blast, got a bunch on video even. Thanks for reading/watching! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJcXlQUOnkc
  11. super jealous of the fish, not of the cold hands...
  12. I hear that Sir Catch-A-Lot guy is pretty good too ... If you're looking to just rent a hut, I'd recommend Terry Goy, Love To Fish Simcoe or Simcoe Fishing Adventures
  13. Ice at BBP was also in the 2.5-4 inch range. I had so many people try telling me they were on 6-7 inches of ice... hope they dont measure their fish the same way... lol
  14. How do you spell SLOW? I think it's K-E-M-P .... ahh you get it. I spent 6 hours on Friday fishing the 2nd line of Oro, ice was anywhere from 2.5-4 inches thick depending on location. In 6 hours, I caught 12 herring fishing various depths from 65-113, no lakers or whities to be seen. Terribly slow, I never skunked once last year, and my first time on the laker grounds this year I skunked... UH OH. Yesterday I head to Big Bay Point and immediately saw action on my screen in 100feet of water. I dropped down a laker taker and had fish all over it, but soon realized they were just herring again. Lost two good fish on the laker taker, they were short biters, one was a whitie that I saw about 20 feet down before she unbuckled. Finally switched to a williams spoon and caught a few more herring, 4 smelt and finally but a couple lakers on the ice. I stayed in the same spot for 5 hours yesterday, didnt feel like moving because A) It was freezing out and I have a slipped disc in my back and dragging a 100lbs hut through 1.5 feet of fresh snow was not fun at all. Tough Week, there's TONS of bait out there! Let's hope the fishing picks up!
  15. Ive caught quality fish on most of the Live Target lineup.
  16. I recognize that fish...
  17. Gentlemen, For those of you that like to save a bit of money, bought some clippers and do your own hair... if you ask your wife to give you a hand, dont leave the proper clips on the counter for her... attach them yourself OR ELSE...
  18. Hey everyone, Glad to be on the ice now, I've spent the majority of the new year fishing the Innisfil side of the lake from Line 3 up to Line 5 and the perchin this year has been awesome. I've been getting lots of good fish in the 35-44 foot range. Fishing this past week has been especially good and my belly is full! Beer battered perch is never a bad choice I must say. All fish coming on artificials... jigging raps, bloodworm and scud patterns as well. Hope to venture for some lakers/whiteys soon. Good fishin everyone! Stay Dry!
  19. I agree with Terry. They're definitely making a comeback but they're not at a level yet to lift the ban. Give it a few more years and we may see a small limit on them. The herring coming back is only aiding the laker fishery!
  20. Also, BPS offers a 1 year exchange on their own brands which includes XPS if you can provide your receipt
