  1. Good to hear. When Terry and the gang show up, just tell them they all got bit off the weekend before though.
  2. Thanks again for the input. It would be nice if Canon came out with an HD P&S underwater camera. The D10 gets great reviews but would like to have a HD camera. A buddy of mine has been very happy with his Panasonic. Starting to lean that way and it's on sale this week at Blacks for $320.
  3. Great chatting with you as well Lloyd, it gets tiring just listening to Joe ramble on. I said to Joe after we dropped off the package (you did get it I trust?) that Lloyd would be on the air horn right now as a couple of boats were coming in hard. just nuts. Hopefully I'll see you down there on Saturday, weather seems to be shaping up. Don't be so greedy. How did you get the best seat in the house?? From my side things seem to go pretty good other then the long wait times.. ...that might explain the long wait times....
  4. Same fees as always Cliff but now tripled for you. Maybe then you'll get your Quinte eye. The pike does look small but it really wasn't, it was a decent fish. Should have put a tape and scale on it. It was a chunk of a fish.
  5. Too bad as there may be a spot in the boat available....guess you can't call in sick to the wife eh??
  6. Thanks for writing up the report Joe but where the heck were you at? Here's the real story..... We couldn't keep the 8 to14lb walleye off our hooks looks like a new world record walleye will be caught on Quinte this fall if the great fishing keeps up, can't wait for the 18th when I will be fishing again, actually I'll be down this Saturday again. Yep I like your version better Terry. Well at least the I'll be down there again on Saturday part is true. Tough day on the water but good times and laughs were had and made for a great day of fishing. The catching was another story. At least the the weather was quite comfortable. As Joe said the camera I grabbed was one that I was given as a gift. Not one that I would ever buy and certainly not worth the cost of the hydro to charge the battery. Be it as it may it was what I had until a new camera will be bought, before Saturday. Here's a few pics of the day, as bad as they are. The exposure settings on the Samsung "flip" style are brutal. Bluebird skies Nice pike for Joe although he wasn't too thrilled about it. Picture really doesn't do the size of the fish justice. And the only target species of the day. Great day as always Joe, looking forward to more laughs in a couple of weeks.
  7. Been waiting for this for a while and it was certainly worth the wait. Awesome report Mike! Those specks sure are purdy.
  8. Great day on the water Cliff as always. Congrats again on the PB. It was a reoccurring theme this weekend as Headhunter got what he believes would be his PB pike on Sunday. Nice to know my guiding/boat control is in tune for my guests, I just need to figure out how to put more/bigger/any fish in the boat myself.
  9. Nice fish and great to hear the motor problems were in the end minor. Thanks for the report.
  10. Always a great read, pics are pretty good too. Thanks for the report!
  11. Hopefully I can get out of work early enough that day, planning to be there. Edit - email sent.
  12. Hmmmm......At my age, I need all the help I can get, might have to keep the boat if I won it. At least until the girlfriend found out why I was keeping it.
  13. I had a 24x24 priced out a couple of years ago with 2 16ft doors (front and back), side door, no windows and was $25,000 complete. I though the quote was a bit high but was only getting a ballpark idea, never got any other quotes. Edit - My old neighbour put in a 1 an a 1/2 garage and it was $15, 000 but that would be about 6-7 years ago.
  14. I would most likely do the same, after a few test spins of course. Well might not sell it after that. Nice chunk of change once it's sold.
  15. True enough. The antlers in the pool liner, not a good thing I guess.
  16. Congrats Cliff! If it's that easy I might just have to take it up. Joe - can I put a stand up in your backyard? With all the other shootings in Scarborough another shot or 2 might go unnoticed. Heck, I could probably just use your deck as my stand.
  17. Air Horn. Solves all language barriers. I'd agree, sometimes the the trailer just will not sit level to load a boat. In those cases, depending on the size of the boat, you can usually rock the boat to be centered on the trailer while the bunks are wet. You just have to be close like in horseshoes or hand grenades.
  18. This better not be going on at Quinte in a couple of weeks......LOL!
  19. We'll try to leave you a couple Dave. How about some silver bass or perch?
  20. Unfortunately, it's everywhere. On the weekend I had a guy come towards me at half plane with the bow high in the air. He finally notices me and comes off plane but keeps on course at me and stops about 200ft in front of me and starts to set up his lines. Well a blast of the air horn gets his attention as I steer to miss him and reel in my one board. A few choice words and I turn and see we have a fish on, guess I should have thanked the for forcing my off my course and into a fish. Too bad it was only a sheephead. As for the boat launch, you should have your boated ready to be launched before you even get in front of it. It's just plain courtesy. Some places it's not always so easy to do but if your are not ready to go and some one is, take a minute and move aside for someone who is.
