  2. So here I am almost at 60 And requirement has come up that I need a second class refrigeration ticket so I’ve been out of school for 40+ years and I’m looking at these books and doing the math. I’m in thermodynamics right now and my brain wants to explode. I’m plugging through it it’s tough. I’m glad I’m sitting in my barn. My whole mechanical life has been in the imperial system and starting grade 7 or eight. I guess they changed it over to metric I got through school I did pass got my grade 12, but metric never stuck with me throughout my mechanical career. I’ve always measured in imperial so it’s a little daunting I guess a case of I should have went with the flow. I have roughly 4 or five chapters each month that require a timed quiz at the end with the pass is 70 I have to leave the island and go to Halifax every month for the next five months 12 to 14 hour days and then in June for five days for review and an exam that gets me my refrigeration ticket seriously I really don’t need this crap but it’s for the good of the company and what the hell is good for me too and I’m gonna give it a shot🫵🤘 I guess in all reality you need to keep it all moving or you’ll rust seize up and die …not for me at this point in time far to spry to die Hugs and kisses Peter

  3. Sweriously Barry? Those are some of the saddest pen reared stocked on demand trout I have seen. Pay to play is all good but those are mutant fish.

  4. Just got back from my 3rd trout adventure up in Quebec....the weather wasn't the greatest but it didn't stop the fish from biting...We slayed the Rainbow trout and caught our limit in less than 24hrs from arriving there last Friday, but we ate one and then did catch and release and then caught a 10th one before we left....the speckles were a little more difficult to catch compared to last month but we managed to keep 5 along with 3 Lakers. I got my hat trick with catching Rainbows, Specks and Lake trout....The Rainbow trout ranged from 2lbs to almost 6lbs. Look at the size of the Rainbows on the fish cleaning table

  5. Carseland weir back in May. Water's dirty from the rain. Fish ladder on the right and above on the far bank near the white sign, You can't see it but there is an island there that I caught the two thirteen pound Rainbow from. It isn't uncommon to catch Brown upwards of 10lb right below the weir in the turbulence.

  6. Alright, good for you man. Pretty hard to beat catching trout, especially Rainbow on a fly rod. You would love the world renowned Bow River that flows through Calgary here. It is a fly fisherman's paradise. There's lots of write ups and photos on line about it if you feel so inclined. My personal best on the Bow is 13lb rainbow, 2x in two casts. above the Carseland weir. forty minutes south east of Calgary. This day I was spin fishing for a change rather fly fishing. I often wonder what may have happened had I been using the fly rod. I'd likely still be fighting them LOL.

  10. Way back when I owned a bass boat that did 60+ mph and jet skis seadoos topped out at about 40 mph, I was out fishing having a good day when 2 guys on jet skis started buzzing my boat and turning at the last second to send a big splash my way i I decided to teach them how to make a big splash so I took off and followed them, quickly overtook them trimmed my motor to send out a rooster tail 20 ft high and 60 ft back from the boat and just flooded the to guys They had to stop their machines so I stopped mine , they took off again and so did I drowning the poor buggers again. One of them turned and went the other way so I just kept on the one guy every time he tried to move I soaked him good. They quit trying to soak me so I guess I won the water fight but I could see the other guy close to the shoreline so I paid him a visit and played one more time The other guy showed up too so I talked to them and asked why they didn’t want to play anymore. They said they didn’t mean anything by splashing me, they were just having fun. I said me too and I’m not tired of the fun yet They said yeah we get the point. So I asked where to you live , they said just right there he was his way home when I soaked him the last time so I said good stay there till you see me leave the lake. If I see you come back I will will continue to play the game and if I hear anyone else say a jet ski splashed them I will spend the whole summer playing the game they went home and I went back to catching bass

  11. We were casting a bay one evening when 2 clowns on a jetski decided to mess around with us. They came in close and started doing donuts around us for about 5 minutes then took off. They only got 100 yards and tried to make another sharp turn but instead rolled the machine over. We could hear one of them screaming in pain in the water so we motored over and asked if he was hurt and he said yes, it's my back. I said "ahhh, that's a shame" and continued on our way.

  13. At 60 (after being semi retired for about 7 years) I decided I wanted to do something different. I have always liked working with my hands so I did some research and decided "small engine mechanic" would fit the bill. Convinced a local shop to hire me with the understanding that I wanted to persue my apprenticeship. Two years of school (part time) and 5000 hours later I got my license. It was hard, I too had been brought up with the imperial system but I am glad I did it. Never stop trying to learn and advance your knowledge, I bet you will do fine you seem like a pretty smart young man!
