  1. Impeller is easy if you can get the kit. I’d make sure you can still get one. im also curious as to how this guy knows that a new impeller is all it needs? It’s so easy and reasonably priced to do it seems strange that he would sell it without it done? Could be larger issues at play?

  2. And both of the two sellers I've dealt with were older, retired men. Not to generalize but I get better feeling from these types of sellers. They both owned the boats for many years.

  3. And this is exactly what happened. Sellers were honest and very forthcoming. I had a great feeling about both. I think both boats would have served me well. Your advice is solid and something I've followed with anything I've bought over the years. You know,, generally, who are the suspicious ones. A guy in the Kawartha area has a 16' since May. Fishy guy. You can tell. He never used the boat. They put in a floor and spruced it up a bit. I doubt they had any idea if it was leaking. He claimed it didn't but how could he know? I walked away from it after talking to him on the phone.

  4. Your on the right track. I’ve been bleeding my fish for 30 years. Always better quality meat no matter the species! Can you post a link to this cooler you got? Even in an 18 footer the giant fish cooler gets in the way!

  5. I don't recommend driving the caramat road from manitouwadge to caramat at night. The road can get very rough from logging trucks, it's very curvey with lots of ups and downs. I just take white river though hornepayne then west on 11. Safest bet

  7. The Manitouwadge route is definitely the shortest. It's probably 90 minutes quicker than taking Hwy 17 all the way to Nipigon and then backtracking north on Hwy 11. There is a gas station in Manitouwadge, but I don't believe it's open all night. However, the Nipigon route is definitely going to have several 24 hr gas stations along 17. You may also consider filing up some jerry cans with gas to get you through. Either way, you may want to reconsider your timing. I have driven across northern Ontario hundreds of times over the last 50 years, and I almost always avoid driving at night. I've just seen too many collisions with Moose, to know that's its not an uncommon occurrence. Be very, very vigilant. I would leave earlier, spend the night in Nakina and be bright and fresh for your fly-in that morning.

  8. Perhaps I was a bit harsh but it is poor form to take up the dock. Kinda like prepping your boat for launching while you are on the launch and 20 others are waiting for you
