Could be a spider nest in the tube which is very common. Take a piece of stiff mono leader and push it into the hole and that will quite likely fix your issue.

OOD magazine just had an article saying the mayfly hatch is the bonanza if you know how to fish it and detailed how. It works for me. Feed them what they want and they will eat it Slow death after a storm too.

Water is extremely high right now, they have opened the waboose and summit dams currently. Everything including the spawn is two weeks behind so in 3 weeks it should still fish like early June. I think I ran into the same problems and I kinda gave up and then 1 day I got the email success. Shame.
