I want to first start off with this post is nothing against my buddy and rod builder here Spiel. He does the best work and I understand the 2 year waiting list.
I wanted a new stick for the Blue Zeppelin I won, and talking to a few local buddies, they recommended a guy to get one done by. So I called and asked a few questions and we set a time to discuss and look over his shop and inventory. After arriving at his place and talking,I noticed a few pictures he had hanging around. As we both have aged,I recognized him in his younger years and turns out,we fished the same spots together many years ago. Humber, credit,Pot D, four sisters,Bronte and the whirlpool.
I chose all the stuff I wanted and even laid out my own fore grip and butt.
I picked it up today and am very happy with the way it turned out. No flashy stuff, just a nice clean cork handle that was turned down to fit my grip. The blank is a North Fork Delta.
The weight for a 13.6 stick is crazy light .
Like I said,no offense to my buddy here.
Now to get hooked up and see how it handles.
I bought a coffee grinder way back to do my own dubbing . Finally started to do just that. I look for colors of yarn that are different along with fibers. Wool works as well, but I like the yarn so far.
From this,to this, to that . About 2 foot strands make a baggie. No, not that kind of baggie,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Got my refund for my lic yesterday, and wouldnt you know it,there was a real purdy thing up for a raffle. Spent a bit of it and

Thanks Uncle Douggie.
Keep your negative comments to yourselves about my uncle,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
As much as guys will tell you “I catch fish on an ugly stick!”
there’s just something about a beautiful set up that’s almost like a big diamond ring to me, except it’s functional as well.
I’ve got a MB destroyer with a FX68 that you’d think were literally sold as a combo they pair and balance up so beautifully.
enjoy the rod and make sure you post pics the first time you test out the flex on it!
That is a nice looking rod.
I like the low key but quality look and your choices in components, cork, seat and finish work nice with each other.
I also know the gentleman who built and signed it and will vouch for both his rod building abilities and his character.
All around good guy who does good work!
The weight on it is less than a fair number of 12'6/13' rods, should be fun to fish for sure.
I've never fished one, does the zepplin balance out nicely?
Good fishing, hope you get to test it out on a freshy right away, let us know how it does.

We'd see it the odd time but certainly nothing like what's happening in some parts of the country today.
And as far as the sticker rebate, I got a cheque yesterday for $320.
I still prefer my schedule.........the life of a sales engineer (no punching clocks for this guy).
Get paid to golf and fish......I would add hunting as well but I just need to find a good customer that likes to hunt - LOL. Flexible schedule so LOTS of time for fishing and hunting & for the most part I can work remotely.
Jeeez, I could have turned this into a great road trip, down thru Southern Ontario, then on to Southern Ohio then all the way northwest to Yellow Knife and back home again. 😁
I have no idea where to connect a tac into a motor that doesn’t already have one. Other than that if it has a feed it’s as simple as plugging it in.
maybe next winter if I get bored I’ll reconfigure my connects and do that nice clean grounding bar set up in my boat. Right now I’m using two distribution blocks, same idea of having raw power but no shut off for the units specifically. Garmin does an excellent job tbh of getting the units to get everything powered up and shut off. You turn a unit on and you see the network hub and panoptix black box fire right up.
I basically rewire every winter anyways because my panoptix comes out of the boat for ice fishing. For now I’m running with what I’ve got.
$1.58 this morning at Costco Bill. 90 lt tank was not cheap, but my travel is limited.
Start my new job tomorrow. Thank god it,s only a min drive. The only thing is,I have weekdays to fish now,so that might cut into my savings. LOL
Every time i watch Bob Izumi throw them he breaks them off so i guess he's using light line too. If I owned an expensive lure company i would have instructions to use 4lb line. The lure will get bit for sure AND there will be lots of lost lures. Create demand and fulfill sales quotas in one recommendation lol. The Mega Bass and Jackal guys do the same thing for even more expensive lures. Lots of their rods, including baitcasters are for unusually low line weights as well. Highly conditioned bass in Japan one assumes. My spybait is a very realistic lure but i wonder what the fish thinks the props on it represent,
YO SON,It,s Louisianan style happening in the condo today.
